Everyone has been lambasting General Wesley Clark today over his comments about John McCain, including Barack Obama who rejected his comments. But has anyone watched the comments? Not only does General Clark not disparage John McCain's war record, he calls him his "hero" for how courageous he was in his service.
The only point General Clark is making is that this does not translate to having experience in executive responsibility. That point is not only uncontroversial, it is indisputable. Is everyone who got shot out of a plane or spent time in a POW camp qualified to be President of the United States? Of course, not.
Does that experience and how he handled it speak to John McCain's courage? Absolutely. His service to the country? No doubt. But does it speak to whether he has the national security or foreign policy experience necessary to be president? Absolutely not.
Watch General Clark's comments here and judge for yourself whether he said something outrageous or perfectly rational:

Is this another plug for Wes Clark for Vice President?
Obama is going to dump his top military advisor real soon. I saw Obama on TV blasting Wes Clark comments against McCain.
Wes Clark is a loose cannon now as he was a loose cannon in the war in the Balkans where that idiot almost started WW3 in trying to get the British to get into a military confrontation with Russia. The British won the arguement and no confrontation happened.
Cenk, you are then saying Obama is wrong in blasting Wes Clark? I bet the looney Left Wingnuts and MoveOn are about the one's who agree with you.

3. Republicans are looking for an enemy in General Clark. Republicans tried to say Clinton was starting WW III in the Balkans, as Robert Okane has obviously read somewhere.
Republicans are just pissed off because Clinton managed to win the war in the Balkans with air power alone and without the loss of a single American soldier.
Unlike Bush vs. Obama, Clinton actually got Milosevich. (pardon the spelling)
Having said that, Clark served Obama very poorly. True, being shot down is not a qualification for being President. But when Clark talked about McCain being a squadron leader and citing some of his other accomplishments, Clark's comments seemed even dumber.
Obama was right to step away from Clark's remarks.

What do you think of Hillary going around, color coordinated, with Obama, making nice?
Do you support her for trying to reunite the party?
Or do you think she is being a lying hypocrite, when she asks you to support the party and Obama?

8. Once again one of Obama's surrogates does his campaign a disservice and he's forced to disavow their comments. How many times is this now?
If he can't keep his ducks in a row during the lead up to the election, it doesn't reflect well on his ability to lead this country.

11. Typical political BS. Let someone else do your dirty work. This country is in trouble. Obama says he wants to run on change. I see no change from either party.

A couple of new books you might like to read.
Just out, and it is not book attacking either the Democrats of Obama.
Book "Governance in the Wilderness" should be a big seller.
Dick Morris new book "Fleeced" is already a best seller and you should also enjoy that. It is not to deep, so you can flip between YouTube for your news stories and the cartoon channel while reading a good book.
Maybe some knowledge in your fat head will get help you in you work. Pass the books onto Ana.

15. By the same rational what experience does Obama have? Clark convienietly ignors the fact that McCain was also a commander of a fighter wing that won many awards and has been a senator for many years and has been on commities pertaining to national defence. Now tell me what has Obama done.
