The much-hyped Carla Bruni love songs album is supposed to be great. It also reinforces pretty much every stereotype of over-sexed Europeans. Charles Bremner writes, "This must be the first time that the presidency of a leading nation has promoted a pop album." But even if you were the leader of a European nation, wouldn't you promote an album if it talked about you like this?
I put an end
To all my emblems
To my career as an Amazon
And to my sovereign freedom...
I give you my body, my soul and my chrysanthemum
For I am Yours
You are my lord, you're my darling
You're my orgy
You're my folly, my mix
You are my blessed bread
My charming prince
I am yours...
Can you imagine Laura Bush singing that to George?

2. The lyrics are not that sexy - corny, yes, sexy, not so much...Geez, any American that gets hyper about this obviously hasn't listened to the radio since 1955.
