In Obama's speech in Germany he explained why he loves America in a way that shows a deep understanding of what this country is all about. Unfortunately, I don't think the conservatives get what he's saying. I explain it below (including a clip of the speech):
If you want to hear the difference between Dick Cheney's version of America and Obama's version watch here.
I have a perspective on this that a lot of Americans who were born here don't. I didn't have to be an American. I chose to be one. I became an American because I love this country and what it stands for. One of the reasons I'll be voting for Obama is because he understands how powerful the idea of America truly is.

17. If you don't know what Cenk Uygur is all about, look at the past 5 titles of his blogs.
Why Barack Obama "understands America better" than the republicans"
Katie Couric "calls out McCain" on his claim of winning wars
Michael Savage "picks" on autistic kids
Meredith Vieira "owns" John McCain
Elizabeth Hasselbeck and Whoopi Goldberg have "emotional race discussion"
Cenk is the original "hate merchant" along with David Knowles, Tommy Christopher, HuffPost, Air America, MSNBC & the likes.
If conservatives are war mongers in search of freedoms, liberals are hate mongers disguised as patriarchs of change.
If Obama understands America better than republicans & he's supported by the aforementioned groups, personally I could care less what his understanding is. I don't toss my hat on the same rack....

Amen, thanks for that very insightful post. I to have noticed this bloggers pattern, kind of hard for him to hide his partisan and borderline hate towards anything republican or conservative.

22. Less than 48 hrs ago Obama urged Iran to accept the diplomatic package offered through the 6 member nation negotiations.
On Saturday pres. Ahmadinejad of Iran politely told Obama to shove it & announced to the world they had more than twice the previous amount of centrifuges operating in the number of SIX THOUSAND to produce enriched uranium for nuclear weaponry!
This is the exact same form of Russian roulette Saddam played with the United States & international community. The EXACT same formula to draw peaceful nations into the guessing game of weapons of mass destruction. Is he bluffing? Should the world wait to find out? How is it possible to have open negotiations with psychotic heads of state who have no regard for humanity?
This is why Obama & liberals are clueless. Diplomacy only works dealing with two rational sides. Maybe Ahmadinejad will let him tour the reactors...

23. David #4 thinks Bush was controlled by GOP neocons, well who do you think will controll Obama; Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Rev. Wright and the lunatic left invironmentalists. These are the same people while in the midst of this energy crisis [$4-$5 gas] refuse to consider any GOP solution to drill our own oil from Anwar, off shore or in the rcky mountains. McCain is not perfect in my book is so much better than Obama.

24. Listen everyone out there you can vote for me as president and I will bring change to America.I mean anyone can do better than George the dumbest president I have seen. How many times when a candidate is running for office have they promised to change this or that and end up doing the opposite.Remember the phrase( read my lips) wonder who said that? The only reason that Obama gets blasted so much here is because he hasn't paid any of you low life trailer park flea bags a visit or promised you an increase in your welfare benefits. The white man is the real devil and they are not as well liked around the world as they may want to believe. So much hate for any other human being and what gets me is when the white trash likes to say if you don't like America then you can leave. The same goes for you too buddy go back to where you or your ancestors originally came from and maybe then will you see America become the land of the free.

25. People come to United States of America, the land of opportunity, for several different reasons.
One thing is for certain, they don't come to America to enjoy a socialistic state, that is what they left behind. People come to this country to participate in the great economic experiment call capitalism and to be treated equally and fairly.
Obama is not the devil nor is he the baby Jesus either---although I suspect someone will be seeing his image on a piece of toast or on a stain in the sidewalk.
He is a politician trying to get elected President. Here is my problem; he stands on both sides of the same issue at the same time and he is confident that he can "splain" both sides simultaneously---wow, he really does that. His oratory skills are powerful enough to persuade the uninformed and univolved ones but his confidence is really cockiness. The alert folks are not buying whatever he is selling and won't get hustled or played a fool.

27. Cenk, you make it to easy to debate you, it's almost an unfar fight. While I agree that McCain is to old and as you say no one has experience as president lets examine the facts. McCain has many more years as a Senator and has authored and voted on hundreds of bills whereas since Obama is now running for president he suddenly claims to have all the solutions to America's problems. Let's examine his voting record and examine major pieces of legislation he authored since being a senator for the last 6+ years. He certainly has had every opportunity especially in the last 2 years as his demoncratic party has controlled congress. If you were to remodel your kitchen and spend thousands of dollars you would want the most experienced and honest contractor you could find not just the one who could talk the best game. You would ask for references and check his work. Should we expect less from anyone who wants to be the president of the most powerful, most generous country on earth. I'm glad you chose to be an American and I assume you did it honestly. Do you believe we should open our borders to anyone wishing to live here and have no control over migration?

Obama is a gifted speaker but when asked a question, he struggles to find the right political answer and "hems and haws" much to the same extent that Bush does. He is editing every word so not to make a mistake or a gaffe and it is painful to listen to.

29. "an opinion arrived at by emotion cannot be undone with logic"
For 20 years, Obama sat in a church and didn't hear the preacher Rev. Wright racist teachings.
Who would say this shows good judgement?

30. The sort of ignorant nonsense that late night Republican supporters fling around dishonors the generations of Americans that built this country on reason and sound argument. Their comments evidence thier ignorance and lack of self control. The emotional immaturity and poverty of thought only mathches their complete lack of a moral compass. Political hooliganism is a disgrace to this country. Our forefathers would dig themselves out of the grave to give these charlatans a lesson.
