In Obama's speech in Germany he explained why he loves America in a way that shows a deep understanding of what this country is all about. Unfortunately, I don't think the conservatives get what he's saying. I explain it below (including a clip of the speech):
If you want to hear the difference between Dick Cheney's version of America and Obama's version watch here.
I have a perspective on this that a lot of Americans who were born here don't. I didn't have to be an American. I chose to be one. I became an American because I love this country and what it stands for. One of the reasons I'll be voting for Obama is because he understands how powerful the idea of America truly is.

61. Since I now have XM radio in my car, I recently listend to The Young Turks program on Air America. This really opened my eyes on how BAD Air America is. I have heard it was bad but these guys are part of the reason it should be gone from the air waves. I heard nothing but name calling and down right mean spirited nonsense from these guys. If that is the best that the liberal left can give us then please do us all a favor and go away. You liberals are ignorant, mean and out of touch with most of America. I tried to give you Air America a chance but this is the worst kind of radio I have ever listened to.

62. Actually, I'll be willing to bet that Barack Obama understands America about as well as any Republican. That is, not at all.

63. >>>55. Wow....You Dittobots are really working overtime spewing your hate speech. You as well of your candidate are scared and desperate and it is really getting ugly.>>>
Who's sane,
Why do you think "dittoheads" are desperate?
Assuming you're speaking of conservatives, McCain is running about as low keyed of a campaign anyone possibly could. Someone in his campaign a lot smarter than you or me is telling him "steady as she goes", the truth is starting to lay waste to myth.
Obama's world tour might suggest democrats should be the ones a little concerned (desparate if you will) with the polls not reflecting a pop in his favor after such a grand marketing effort.
I think americans see it as we didn't get a chance to vote on their chancellor, we'll decide who's better to run our presidency...

64. Only in America can you come here and reap the rewards of freedom that has been paid for with the blood of our soldiers. There are those living here using our rights and freedoms, against us, they bad mouth and critisize America, they want to change it or distroy it. America as she stands isn't perfect, no country is, but America is the best thing going.
People who hate America, like the Obama's need to leave now, before you are kicked out. It's coming sooner than you think. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

65. When a canidate says "He is a citzen of the world",
That is it for me. I do not want a president of the
world. One has to be a president of a nation. Follow the laws of that nation, believe in our
American people. One can never be a citzen of the
world, Maybe Obama should look up what a citizen
of America is.

66. Obama doesn't care to understand America, both Barack and Michelle Obmama are Marxists Socialists, Black Liberation Theologists, and the bottom line is, they hate America. Deny this all you want, but the information is out there, and if you really cared enough about your country, you would do some deep searching homework from your computers and wake up to the truth.

67. How can this Canadian clown know that Obamy understands america better? I think Obamy should run for the presidency of Leftist the world over. We don't need an empty suit running the greatest nation on Earth ... only our enemies and stupid Leftist turds want that.
Thomas J Gassett at 2:36PM on Jul 27th 2008
68. Nobama "loves his country like Cenk does?" I'm sure he DOES love Kenya, just as Cenk loves Turkey. But his Marxist ideology expressed in his book is anti-americam, anti-free enterprise and worst of all Anti-WHITE! This is the most devisive candidate to ever run for the Presidency. The leftist media LOVES him, which is cause enough for me to vote against him, even if I DIDN'T know of his Marxist, Black-Separatist views.

69. It's soooooo much fun to witness all these "Real Americans" squirming under the microscope. All the spewing is quite entertaining. I find it vindicating for all ethnicities in America. The whole world is watching America change -- as the ethnic tide turns . . . and the conservative majority (aka WASPs)is about to lose control of America -- Go Obama !! aaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahaha !!!!

70. THE ORIGINAL RON wrote -"How many times when a candidate is running for office have they promised to change this or that and end up doing the opposite." And,"The same goes for you too buddy go back to where you or your ancestors originally came from and maybe then will you see America become the land of the free."
Please vist your shrink EARLY tomorrow morning and have him/her adjust your meds. Perhaps you could make an appointment just prior your court ordered
Anger Management seminar.
The tings that scare ME about MoFobama is what he HAS said he'll do, like double the capital gains tax to send investors to other markets (Like China, for instance) and he wants to send $880 BILLION of our taxes to "help relieve poverty in Africa." THAT oughta straighten our economy out, dontcha think? MoFobama is an avowed MARXIST, a Black-separatist and a White hating racist. (Sort of like YOU, Ron)

72. This is just plain silly. Everyone who has run for President wants to be seen as his own person and distance themselves from anyone in power such as President Bush Sr. from President Reagan; Vice
President Al Gore from President Clinton; President Bush Jr from President Bush Sr.

6. How hilarious, Dave #5 - you brag about what a great guy Bush is, yet Republicans do not want this election to be a "referendum" (your word) on him. Why not, Dave? If he was such a great president, I would think McCain would be proud to be campaigning with him arm in arm. Yet he is not. I wonder why....
Mad Dog at 6:59PM on Jul 27th 2008
73. Since you think BO has all the answers let's ask him some tought questions and examine his voting record from his past years in the senate that is when he actually took a stand. First, how does he propose to fix SS [it's still out there going bankrupt-democrats were against any Bush proposals to fix it a few years ago-democrats position is to lower benefits and raise the age of eligibility]; second, how does BO propose to deal with illigal immigration [their still crossing the border in droves causing overwhelming problems in our infrasture], third, how does BO propose to deal with the current energy crisis [$4-$5 gas conserving isn't the answer alone], forth, how does BO propose to deal with worldwide terrorism beside just talking with them if they wont listen or comply. These are some of the hard questions the press should be asking both candidates and are not. Shame on them and shame on you and us for not demanding answers. When BO answers these and many more pressing problems and can show he has offerred solutions in the past then and only then will I consider giving him my vote.

74. If Obama understands the U.S. better than the Republicans, than why does he say NO to Nucular Power? Or NO to Off-shoe drilling? And Obama also had the most liberal voting record in the Senate in 2007! And the Hamas endorse him. That is why I want John McCain to be president!

75. We might want to remember that he "tells them what they want to hear" He is for change ... what change ... why taxing you and giving your hard earned maney to someone else. That's not change, that's more socialist rhetoric.
