166. Christian Science all the way - it's based on the Bible and it's proven to work.
I like that you can develop your own relationship with God and you don't need to pay anyone to get to another level - or get closer to God.
You can be in the middle of no where - and still be helped by the divine laws of healing.
Plus there's the Christian Science Monitor. If you read the paper - you'll understand why it's so respected.

169. Which is the one with the nifty tennis shoes?
They don't still cut your nuts off, do they? I mean didn't we settle all that nut stuff a few posts ago?
There isn't any such thing as an Enron Hubbard, is there?
I've always wondered just what it was that hypochondriac christian scientists prayed for.
And if god didn't answer the prayer was he being benevolent?
This one's a little tougher than Ginger or Mary Ann...now THAT might be something to pray for..

171. I worked in hospitals for many years then found Christian Science 26 years ago. I've had so many healings--physical, spiritual, emotional, economic-- since then and it has been fully proved to me that the laws of God as written in the Bible and in our hearts are scientific. Turning to God as a first resort instead of as a last resort brings so many blessings and healings into our lives. Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy is totally based on Biblical truths, especially Jesus's teachings and example.

>>>> egats! - couldn't let this pass - what hooie:
((found Christian Science 26 years ago))
>> didn't know it was lost - did you trip over it when you found it?
((I've had so many healings--physical, spiritual, emotional, economic-- since then))
>> Shit girl where you terminal? That economic healing - was that getting a job or did you stop spending money you didn't have? Emotional Healing? What the fuck is that? Nothing a good cry won't fix or maybe a funny movie?
>> Hey I know what sexual healing is - heard it in a song.
>>Physical therapy will get you back in shape and when you stop over eating and take a walk or work out in a gym you can really improve your health - maybe stop snorting that coke???
((it has been fully proved to me that the laws of God as written in the Bible and in our hearts are scientific.))
>> Again what the fuck does that mean??? The laws of God? Do you mean the ten commandments? Honey that wasn't written by god - that was written by man and really out of touch men at that. This is the 21st century - why don't you join us here??
((Turning to God as a first resort instead of as a last resort brings so many blessings and healings into our lives.))
>>Actually you have been brain washed and the funny thing is - al your healings and blessings you've given yourself - you always had the power to do positive things, but if you need a fairy god religion to get you where any normal thinking person could go on their own, well who am I to say you are a sad fuck?
I think I'm channeling GHB
Couldn't help myself - something came over me, maybe it was the wholly see-through ghost of the pretend fairy god

1 = sqrt(1) = sqrt((-1)*(-1)) = sqrt(-1)*sqrt(-1) = i*i = -1

that's the analog of adding remainders. Fortunately for Newton he ignored Xeno and fortunately for your big screen tv, electronic physics ignored that sophistry.

Demdeen are you pulling my skepticism by inferring that the 'c.s. monitor' is respected, therefore christian science is respected? Prayer helped all those polio victims eh?

177. Neither.
Scientology isn't a religion, because there is no deity to worship, plus religions don't guard their image the way Scientology does.
The problem with Christian Science is that I believe that God gave Man a brain, so that he could devise medicines, surgical procedures, and other treatments to rid himself of disease.
While I do agree that anyone who is sick can be aided in recovery by positve thinking, as espoused by the late Norman Vincent Peale, I don't believe that people become sick or fail to recover, because their faith in God isn't strong enough.

179. Christian Science wins out because I heard Einstein liked to hide and think in their reading rooms. Too too cool!
And didn't Mary Baker Eddy have lots of husbands, like Elizabeth Taylor?
Luv to all
