Former Republican strategist David Gergen charged on ABC's This Week that the McCain camp is using code words to tell Southerners and other white voters that Barack Obama is uppity. Watch it here:
Let's not repeat the same mistakes over and over. We don't need a president who is just like us. We need a president who is the best and the brightest among us.
Imagine if the founding fathers used this George Will test for picking their leaders? Well, Thomas Jefferson is really bright but I'm not sure I can have a beer with him, so I'm going to vote for the village idiot instead. I guess if they used the beer test back then, Sam Adams would have been in great shape.

31. Clif what are you a wigger today?

32. Clif Kuplen,
If I believe that human life begins at conception and abortion is murder; what pray tell would you like me to call those participating in abortion? By the way, I don't go around calling women that have abortions murderers. I understand that women and babies are victims of this atrocity. The people I don’t hesitate to designate as murderers are the health care professionals who KNOW that they are killing an innocent, unborn child. I will never discuss this with you again. My opinion on this issue will never change!

33. "I have never heard those type of sermons."
_____________
Perhaps that accounts for your stunted theological perspectives. I'm no big fan of Jeremiah Wright, but I have listened to many of his sermons including the "God Damn America" sermon and there is nothing racist are anti-semitic about them. So why don't you follow your own advice and stop casually calling people racist and anti-semitic. You just convey what a big hypocrite you are.

It's not about them, miss lady, it's about your nose trouble and you phoniness. I hate that I have to educate my grandkids about people like you and not to trust them. You can validate your hypocrisy any way that makes you well with it, I suppose, but it's lipstick on a pig to anyone who's not caught what you have.

35. Sorry, Janesophie, you are a typical conservative Republican. Women CHOOSE to have an abortion, no? If you believe in your heart abortion is murder, have the guts to say so and call for women to be charged as murderers. If I go next door and shoot my neighbor and kill him, chances are I will go to jail for life or get the death penalty. If you are equating that with abortion, then there is no choice; the same charges must apply to women who kill their babies, correct? Well, go ahead, Janesophie, make the GOP do the same. Good luck with that one; they are NO different than the DEMS on the issue. Elected Republicans know full well if abortion were outlawed, they would be finished as a party for a generation at least. And you know it too, Janesophie...that is why you let them get away with it with your bullcrap hypocritical nonsense about women as "victims."

Also, don't forget, that homosexuals are technically murderers as well.
You see, we all have this God given ability to be potentially procreative.
Therefore they are murderers every time they ejaculate into the anus of another man.

the other 5,999,999 sperms that don't conceive are also murdered. Sex is a very murderous act. So many must die that even one might live.

What, no one wants to critique Barack Obama's Energy Plan, the one he allegedly does'nt have?
Newsflash - today I heard the mcbush say that Obama was right and that proper inflation and tuning were extremelty important. (I'll say! The estimation is that if cars were 100% with this it would save 67% of the oil we're supposed to get from offshore drilling NOW.
So now the mcbush is stuck with thousands of air gauges labeled 'the barack obama energy plan' and he needs to get rid of them someway.
They're only $25 each - maybe y'all should help the ol' cryptkeeper out here with a little earnest money. If you do, possibly you could get Paris Hilton to come up with a better policy than do exactly what bush did and promise you all different results.

39. Once again, Cliff is shamelessly foisting the same old, recycled, cut and paste translation guide nonsense otherwise known as "You may be a Klansman and not know it".
I think it's great that you and Cenk are on a mission to abolish racism and ferret our bigots, Cliff. A worthy goal. But, try starting in your own party where about 80% of them reside.
We just got done with a primary campaign where Hill and Bill and their minions accused Barrack of being everything from a crack dealer to an Islamic radical. You want racism, guys? There it is. Republicans and "fundamentalists" didn't have one thing to do with those bitter little attacks.
I've been a Christian for 30 years and I've never heard the "Mark of Cain" verse interpreted as having anything to do with skin color. And there is no mention of skin color in the Bible. We're all created equal.
You want more racism? Start with former Klansman Robert Byrd, who recently used the "N" word in a nationally televised interview. And then there's the liberal LA Times, which started all of the furor last year by dubbing Barrack Obama the "Magic Negro".
Cliff, you apparently grew up in the South and heard lots of racist talk and it made you mad? Good. Get mad at your own party, because that's where most of the bigots reside.
Like Democrat George Wallace, standing at the schoolhouse door, white liberals couldn't care less whether blacks get a decent education, and will do everything possible to keep these folks on the NEA plantation, including denying blacks an opportunity to attend the school of their choice. Shame.

xxxxxxx
He didn't grow up in the south he is just a "white guilt liberal". Wants everyone to know he has a minority in his family so it gives him the cred to accuse white "republicans" of course of being bigots. Clif is a perfect example of a bigot he shows it everyday here.

41. Clif Kuplen,
I swore I would never discuss this issue with you again. I don't really care what you think of me. Nothing you say is having any impact on my opinion of abortion or any other substantive issue. Abortion is murder! It is the killing of an unborn child. It is cruel and inhuman. We treat animals with more respect than unborn children. It should be illegal to have an abortion, unless the physical life of the mother is at stake. Then the intent is not to kill the child; which all effort should be made to save, but to save the mother's life.
David S.,
Abortion hurts women! It kills their child. I have met many women during my Pro-Life work that testify to the negative impact that abortion has had, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. I knew a woman that came out of a clinic with a perforated uterus! There are reports from across the nation about the physical injuries and deaths that result from "safe" legal abortions. Need more proof; go to the "Silent No More" website and read what these abortion survivors have to say regarding the exercise of their choice. The late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s niece, Dr. Alveda King is a Pastoral Associate of Priests for Life. I have personally met her and listened to an account of the devastation that abortion had on her life. Norma McCorvey for whom Roe vs. Wade was argued is a Pro-Life activist. I have friends that have been devastated by abortion.
I make a distinction between women that have abortions and abortion providers. Many of these women are desperate. They are often unaware of the many organizations that will help them during and after the pregnancy. Many of them are ignorant of the stages of development of their child. The culpability of these women is questionable. The culpability of abortion providers is NOT up for debate. They are fully aware that they are destroying innocent human life! They reassemble human remains to be certain all parts are accounted for. They burn babies at all stages of life in incinerators. They take oaths to do no harm, but violate it 1.5 million times per year. They make money off of human suffering and call it compassion. I have read handwritten notes from thousands of women on the wall of the last abortion facility (now a memorial) in Chattanooga, TN, mourning the loss of children 10, 20, 30, even 50 years later. DO NOT TELL ME THAT ABORTION DOES NOT HURT WOMEN! I am human being! These children are my brothers and sisters. They are made in the image of GOD. They have worth, value and dignity; they deserve more than a sentence of death. They have a right to life. I will not remain silent in the face of this holocaust.

well spoken, you articulated your feelings in a deep meaningful compassionate sense. Keep up the good work..

44. Janesophie, so the answer is to keep abortion legal and "help" these desperate women? So every woman who has an abortion is just desperate with no where to turn? And it is just those evil abortion providers who should be charged with a crime? Sorry, you can say no such thing as you do not personally know every woman who has had an abortion. Some are very educated women - and maybe some not so - who know exactly what they are doing. I am sick and tired of conservatives grandstanding and pounding the podium about how horrible abortion is, then when they are pressured to take the stance of charging women as murderers they back down. You cannot have it BOTH ways. The hypocrisy of the right and elected Republicans on the abortion issue is laughable. The only reason pro-lifers support Republican candidates is because they take a 'pro-life' stance and then do NOTHING to change things. Name me one current elected Republican - just one - who has called for the outlawing of abortion and the criminalizing of it!

The answer is for men and women to value their sexuality and human life. The answer is to wait until they are within the sacrament of marriage for sex! The answer is to start respecting our bodies and not allow them to be used like a toilet, (I hate to be vulgar, but that is what promiscuity amounts to). The answer is to respect our fertility. No, abortion should not be legal. It should never have been legalized. Some women do have full knowledge, most are ignorant of all the options available, human development, physical and emotional risks, etc. Abortion is the least regulated medical procedure. I advocate requiring that all abortion providers be licensed medical doctors and surgeons. Require all clinics to be within 5 blocks of a hospital. Require ultrasounds and make it mandatory that the woman be shown the image before the abortion. If a 24 hour waiting period is a financial hardship, the abortion provider should pay for the expense. Cease all federal funding of Planned Parenthood; cripple the industry financially!
The Republican Party may not be perfect, but it does not have a Pro-Abortion platform like the Democrats. You can be Pro-Abortion in the Republican Party. i.e. Rudy Giuliani, but how many Pro-Life Democrats can you name?
