AOL News has a scandalous report about Victoria Osteen, wife of the famed preacher Joel Osteen, who is one of McCain's inspirations, says this Rolling Stone article. According to the AP, a flight attendant is suing Victoria for throwing her against a bathroom door and elbowing her in the chest during boarding in 2005. Osteen was allegedly angry about a stain on her seat in first class and one thing led to another.
The flight attendant's claim that the incident caused her to have anxiety and hemorrhoids sounds a little far-fetched, but it does sound like this may have been a pretty crazy episode. Because of Victoria's behavior, the FAA fined her $3,000, the flight was delayed more than two hours, and the family was removed from the plane.
Airline travel is miserable, probably even in first class, but it still doesn't sound very Christian, throwing a fit over something like that.

Ada will she comport herself the same way at the pearly gates?

2. Unfortunately the Associated Press and Rolling Stone are both decidedly leftist and incredibly biased toward religious conservatives. This whole incident sounds bizarre. It would be nice to have video of what actually happened here.

Yeah, I know the last time I got elbowed in the chest it caused me to have hemorrhoids. It's a good thing this preacher hag didn't punch the other hag in the face, it may have given her rectal fissures.

4. Let's see...pointless, frivolous lawsuit by a gold digging no-count and that demands the hiring of one of the top ten defense attorney's in th US? Sounds to me like gross over reaction....but wait, isn't that exactly what happened over the stain on the seat? Osteen needs to pay up and shutup...otherwise the world will find out exactly who she really is!

Why? Because of her behavior!
I guess Dave also believes that the Federal Aviation Administration is “decidely leftist.”

6. One of the few disadvantages of being rich is that parasites like Brown tend to attach themselves to your wallet. Brown should be fired and forced to pay the Osteen's legal expenses.

9. One of the many disadvantages of being not rich is that arrogant hypocrites like the Osteens tend to look down their nose at you and treat (and mistreat) you as if you were their personal servant. Victoria Osteen should be fined, jailed and forced to pay 20% of her net worth to Sharon Brown.

10. Mojo - No, I don't have any reason to believe the FAA is decidedly leftist and I didn't say they were. They have to error on the side of caution with any passenger deemed a threat, regardless of their personal conviction or ideology.
But, after having my son, a college student with no criminal record detained from his flight for over half an hour because he had a backpack with too many snaps on it, I'd say the FAA and TSA can and do make mistakes on a regular basis.
Their job is to put the hammer down at the slightest sign of what they see as trouble. Chances are pretty good, in this case, the FAA was relying on the word of the flight attendant. Maybe she's a gold digger. Who knows? And does Vicky Osteen have a previous record of assaults? I doubt it.
It's undeniable that neither the Rolling Stone or Associated Press are particularly receptive to religious conservatives. So why should I take either one of them seriously when it comes to this matter?

11. Why does the preacher travel first class? Why not rub elbows with the masses and donate the savings to charity?

12. Not sounding very Jesus-like. We all definitely have our moments though... maybe not so extreme.

13. I don't know what's more pathetic... the Preacher's wife, or the woman trying to claim she got hemmorids from an elbow to the breats.
Both seem like women who feel entitled to money and things they never earbned.

14. That should be "err". (I guess I erred.)

15. Victoria & Co. were escorted off the flight and promptly chartered a private flight to their destination, Vail. Were they taking the congregation skiing? Ministering to the homeless in Vail, maybe Aspen, too? WWJD!!
Be glad you don't leave in Houston where these Six Flags Over Jesus - Bapti-domes are on every corner.
