Do We Really Need Another Segway?
Wired's blog has the lowdown on a new kind of Segway, Toyota's Winglet. See it in action above. What's the purpose of these "personal transporters" again? They move at roughly the speed of walking (although the Segway can get up to 12 MPH), don't appear to have a lot of storage space, would be a hazard on a city sidewalk, and are super dorky. If you want to add pizazz to walking, why not just get cup stilts?

2. The purpose, you ask?
Well that's obvious... they're designed to move our big fat lazy American asses around of course!

The year is 2012, Toyota announces the development of home cranes. The cranes were developed to hoist big fat lazy American asses onto the segway. Toyota's president found sales of the segway were lagging and needed a new device to increase sales.

5. I would get one designed as a peg leg with a wheel. I'd get a parrot on wheels and I'd wear me red shirt and me brown pants. Arrrrgghhh. No offense to Pirates.

7. We could use a segue instead - several of them, in fact, starting with a segue from an economy that serves private offshore global interests and weakens the US and her citizens into one that once again serves the interests of the United States and her people, an idea that was abandoned by Reagan and the republicanist/neocon party.

8. Clif,
I see your Leftist Economic Ignorance is still going strong. Here is a lesson in taxation:
A)Democrats claim that raising taxes on cigarettes leads to less people smoking.
B)Barack Obama wants to raise taxes on Investments and Corporations.
It is a well known fact that the more you tax something the less you get of it. That, combined with frivolous litigation and over regulation, is the reason for Corporations heading overseas. Just check out how Ireland is booming since it slashed its Corporate Tax Rate.

We don't need another segway!
We don't need another way home!
All we want is life beyond the pedestrian!
