Earlier John McCain had forgotten we invaded Afghanistan. When talking to Katie Couric, he called Iraq the first major conflict since 9/11. Now, he has forgotten both wars. When upbraiding Russia for "invading" Georgia he made this classic mistake:
If Obama made half of the mistakes McCain has made on the foreign policy front, the press would have jumped down his throat as unfit to lead. How many passes is John McCain going to get?

61. We all know McSame is a silly delusional old man. But so was Reagan and look how the right wing built him into something he really wasnt. Its what republicans do, they mislead, lie and misrepresent. McSame wanted to leave the republican party in 01' due to roves and bush's lies and slanders then wanted to go on the ticket with Kerry in 04'...And now these right wingers want to tell us he's their man? Or is he really just a hypocritical opportunist? Bottom line, the repubs held all three branchs prior to last midterms and got every single thing wrong, what kind of idiot thinks they could get something right now much less McSame, a flip flopping, delusional opportunist that cant get anything correct from yesterday? Just another right wing republican failure.

I think there's a big difference between talking crap, and going out of your way to scare the crap out of somebody.
These boards are a way of expressing onesself, and, in a way, entertainment. If you're so thin skinned that some trash talking pushes you to the edge, you probably shouldn't be screwing around with this.
Using the name of a family member, no matter how you got it, is way below the belt. It was meant to instill fear, and I'm sure it did. Just think about that for a minute. There are people getting killed over this these days.

63. Cenk,
We invaded Iraq, because our intelligence said they had WMDs. Granted, the CIA did a lousy job and bought into Saddam's attempt to deceive Iran into believing that he had WMDs, but that's for another post.
We also invaded Afghanistan, because the terrorist group that had attacked us was based there.
But, the major difference is that neitehr country was a democracy. Iraq was a brutal dictatorship, and Afghanistan was a brutal, backwards theocracy.
In both cases, we have been working to foster democracy.
On the other hand, Russia is a marginal democracy and sees having democratic neighbors, such as Georgia, as a threat. Putin, if he could, would like to reestablish the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact.
Whereas Putin keeps trying to centralize the Russian economy and driving out foreign investment (you should have heard Jim Cramer take off on Putin earlier this month), Georgia welcomes foreign investment, and its president is following Reaganomics, i.e., lower taxes means greater economic growth.
What the U.S. ought to do in the Middle East is try to help change the region from a group of dictatorships, theocracies, and absolute monarchies into a region of democracies and possibly create a Middle Eastern E.U.

Now is that similiar to the DailyKos putting the home adress and the childrens names of the man who just wrote the book Obama Nation? Not sticking up for the poster but I have seen Clif call people by name "child molestors" "tell them he will kick their ass" and plenty of other "threats". So I am not really surprised this happened, and all the poster did was do a google of his name, and no "threat" was made, just a little payback if you will. I agree this blog is entertainment, however if you come on here and talk shit day after day your going to get some thrown back. Child molestor is a pretty low blow if you ask me. By the way I damn sure would never use my complete name on a AOL blog of all places. Now lets move on and get back to the real issues neocon vs. libitard..

67. "Any government that keeps such practices is little better than the 'terrorists' that use violence to further their agenda."
I find it curious that individuals who often point this out are rather quick to assess blame for the public not being protected from such acts. It usually comes in the form of , If "so and so" had only done this or that this never would have happened. Also if we only would "play" by the rules then we will be liked/loved, etc. Unfortunately things are not like that in the real world. Some how people can come to the conclusion that to be "liked" means the same as being "safe".
Some believe in reactive action to events as opposed to being pro-active and preventing. I think the reactive approach is comforting and easy for some since it does not involve taking a risk. Also it can be less worrisome since it avoids confrontational incidents. Then again, turning the cheek only works so much. Sooner rather then later you will run out of checks to be slapped. Or in other cases the other individual does not desire to merely "slap" you. As I have stated before, when involved in a knife fight, to follow the Marquess of Queensberry Rules is not only foolish, it can be down right dangerous. There is a time when one way will work over the other. However to blindly take an option of the table out of hand due some pre-concieved idealistic belief in crazy.

69. Bobby, re: your post #41.
Bobby, I stand by everything I have said in this thread.
The cheny-bush junta looks impotent and it IS impotent.
Governor bush promised aid to Georgia which he cannot deliver. Thus far, "aid" has consisted of one or two C-17 cargo planes full of relief supplies. Governor bush promised shiploads of supplies and protection of ports. It isn't happening.
The U.S military is over-extended.
Russia is giving the Cheney junta the finger.
It's really convenient for apologists like you to say that this is somehow the obligation of the French and that this is, "in their back yard."
First, you might want to look at a map. Second, you should consider that Georgia WAS the third largest contributor of troops in what is essentially America's problem - Iraq!
Face the facts, Bobby. The Cheney- bush junta has no credibility anywhere in the world - with the exception of you 19 per centers.
Bobby writes....
I'm not even going to accuse the entire left from your misguided views.

Fuck you, Bobby. You used to be a decent poster but your ego has swollen your head so fat that you are likely to blow away.

Paul, you're really full of it dude..
Here's today's "Latest Election News" headlines:
'Edwards' ally explains $14,000 payment to mistress"
Be proud, be real proud of lying scum like this. Cenk in his last blog had to "twist" this into an issue tying McCain's divorce of over 30 yrs ago into the same. Deflect, deflect, deflect!! But we lie,, right?
2nd headline:
"Bush still raking in cash for Republicans"
What a crock of shit! Obama lies his ass off about public campaign financing to be the biggest recipient of private donor campaign funding in history & the liberal media is throwing a bogus article like this out. Can you say fucking hypocrisy??
3rd headline:
"Clinton to get roll call at Democratic convention"
N,yark!! What a total joke! The dirtiest internal campaign in the history of politics stating claims of racism & sexism more times than the public can count by the party of liars that try to make out this is the platform of equal rights they stand for. Clinton & Obama hate each other's guts but they're coming together for the "unity" of the party. Give me a damn break!!
4th headline:
"Jackson Brown sues McCain, RNC over song in ad"
Now this is a back breaker, really good stuff. Washed up hippy Jackson Brown & every other musician doesn't think McCain is cool enough to use their material so they openly discriminate while showing their bias. Real patriots & certainly newsworthy to make the headlines. Another Democratic musician coming to the aid of Obama. HA!
Maybe you should read the article of what's going on in Helena, Arkansas. The town riddled by crime imposing a curfew & the ACLU is warning them it's unconstitutional. The city council unanimously voted 9-0 in favor of the curfew & told the ACLU to kiss their ass & come live in their town under those conditions if they wanted to. People were dying & the ACLU is telling them it's unconstitutional to control the situation! Delusions, delusions!!
Every single thing you posted is total garbage. Liberal thinking has shifted this country's ability to act reasonably on anything based on your delusional value system which doesn't exist.
Obama's swung so far to the center with exception of putting the knife to the unborn because it's the only practical REPUBLICAN approach he can grasp to make sense on any single issue. Now even hardline Pelosi is in a corner because the AMERICAN PUBLIC DEMANDS COMMON SENSE ANSWERS!
This is something your party will never be able to produce because of your absurd views on the world.
Now go ahead & paint me a rosy picture distorting the truth one more liberal time,, before you do compare what you wrote to the documented truth of my comments. I can hardly wait....

73. I am sorry for anyone who lost any loved one in an "attack" that could have been prevented by a competant Government. I really do have sympathy for you. But what is ironic is that 9/11 was "masterminded" by a former "ally" of the US. Who supported Bin Laden for years against the Soviets? Who funded Saddem with weapons and money to fight the Iranians all while turning a blind eye to the Genocide he was commiting upon his own subjects. Who gave Saddam Antrax? George Bush has that answer. Who put Saddem in power? George Bush has that answer also. Bush can do no wrong but Clinton was the root of all evil. Give me a break.
The US has been Bushwacked for the last 8 years.
Question:
Why does everyone in Bush's cabinet now say that Bin Laden is the furthest thing from their mind?
Answer:
Because he was never a real threat to us. If he was believe me we would have got him. I am most confident in that. We have the greatest military force the world have ever seen. (Until China really starts rolling in the dough) We can strike anywhere with a moments notice. But we cant save our own drowning citizens in New Orleans. Or we wont use our Righteous Might to help the people in Darfur of in South East Asia. (NO OIL IN DEM PARTS) heh hehe heh.
This Democratic-Republic Government in this country was established by the People and for the People because they wanted to break from a Dictator/Monarchy. So giving the government back to the people is not Communist in any way. It is just ashame we don't have a pure demoacry in this country, wait, that may be to Communistic.
As for the sweatheart deal the Democrats give people. PPPLLLEEEAAASSSEEE. Haliburton! Need I say more.

74. Captain,,
That's right, "fuck me".
That might be the most coherent thing you've written in a month on these blogs. I told you before I disengaged responding to your posts because you're all over the place.
Go back & read your original comment to me. You say you "stand by your comments" & you didn't say anything! All you did was put down the administration like you always do with insults & garbled thoughts.
I asked you to give a "constructive" idea of how to handle the circumstances & you come back with all this garbage again. You call us war mongers then you criticize us for showing restraint. Yeah, we can't fight ten wars at a time you idiot, but that's really going out on a limb with your observation. Congrats! You're a real statesman!
I don't need a damned map to know that France would be far more affected by the situation in Georgia moreso than us. France has strong ties to Russia economically. I don't think our trade deficit hinges on the Russians supplying us with anything! How much territory do you think Poland & Germany offer as a buffer between the French & Russia? You're making this into an issue, not me. This myopic crap can go on forever!
Getting into it with you is just endless blather.
Right or wrong, at least I try to stay engaged with reality a little. Your comments are shot down on a daily basis in every single blog.
I express my views based on the facts before me,, this isn't a popularity contest, I take the political aspects seriously. Excuse me for showing my arrogance one more time by stating exchanged views on this blog sometimes are reflections of how screwed up the divide is in this country.
That means something to me, you should keep your ass more on track & let it mean something to you as well. Quit writing the bullshit man, stick with the facts!!!
I've stated repeatedly this blog is authored by one of the biggest hate mongers around. It's evident as can be within this current blog alone. You tell me smartass,, whose side authors this fucking blog??
Spout your shit off to Cenk, you're just a pawn of his hatred, I stand against it!!

75. >>>Who funded Saddem with weapons and money to fight the Iranians all while turning a blind eye to the Genocide he was commiting upon his own subjects. Who gave Saddam Antrax? George Bush has that answer. Who put Saddem in power?>>>
Here you go Paul, rewind 45 yrs if you believe in the BASIS of truth & cause & effect from past mistakes. This is the Baath parties beginning thus the beginning of Saddam..
The antiwar left and their friends in the press have repeatedly charged that the Reagan administration gave Iraq chemical weapons in the 1980s that Saddam Hussein used to gas the Kurds during the Iran-Iraq war - a charge, it's worth noting, that Reagan Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger staunchly denies.
But there is another U.S. president whose fingerprints are evidently all over Saddam's rise to power. It's just that the media, not to mention one particular antiwar Senator, have developed a convenient case of amnesia about the episode.
In February 1963, the Central Intelligence Agency under President John F. Kennedy reportedly played a key role in the assassination of Iraqi prime minister Abdel-Karim Qasim.
In the aftermath of Qasim's death one-up-and coming Baath opposition party member, Saddam Hussein, made his name as "a brutal interrogator of communists, at least some of whom appeared on lists shared by the CIA," according to Hussein biographer Said Aburish.
In a synopsis of Aburish's book, the Discovery Channel Web site reveals that Saddam was one of several Baath Party members who often visited the American Embassy in Cairo four decades ago. "In fact, the Americans and the Baath Party exiles had something in common. Both would be happier if Qasim, with his pro-Communist leanings, was deposed as leader of Iraq."
In his book "Blood for Oil," Alfred Mendes offers more details on the Kennedy administration's role in Saddam's rise to power.
"In February 1963 Qasim was overthrown - and assassinated - by a Ba’athist Party coup, with the direct connivance of the CIA. This resulted in the return to Iraq of young fellow-Ba’athist Saddam Hussein who had fled the country (to Egypt) after his earlier abortive attempt to assassinate Qasim.
"Saddam was immediately assigned to the job of Head of the Al-Jihaz al-Khas (more popularly known as Jihaz Haneen), the clandestine Ba’athist Intelligence organisation - and, as such, he was soon after involved in the killing of some five thousand communists."
Says author Mendez, "Saddam’s rise to power had, ironically, begun on the back of a CIA-engineered coup!"
Could it be that one of the reasons Sen. Ted Kennedy has become such a prominent spokesman for the antiwar Democrats is because he fears that post-liberation revelations from the Baath Party's archives might further tarnish his brother's legacy?
Of course, JFK had no way of knowing that forty years later his CIA-backed coup would lead to one of the most serious U.S. national security threats since his Cuban missile crisis. Just as Reagan played no role in decisions by private companies to contravene U.S. law and sell poison gas to the Iraq.
But it's worth noting that while the conservative president is regularly tarred by loose allegations suggesting that he was a Saddam enabler, the Kennedy-Hussein connection has gone virtually unreported since President Bush declared Iraq a member of the Axis of Evil.
Yeah,, your side is clean as the wind driven snow,, right....
