We were making the news rounds when this article on MSNBC.com caught our eye: Best hotels for an affair: Get bewitched, savor the food of love and more in these cheat suites. Ha-ha, we thought. This must be about catered Halloween poker parties. But nope, it's full-on trying to help you get away with cheating on your spouse. And it's an exercise in dropping as many double entendres per sentence as humanly possible ("Just don't be alarmed at the things that go bump in the night").
Sometimes the way sex appears in the media totally confuses us. So something like this affair primer is cute, but Janet Jackson's breast is illegal? Those beer commercials where the guy is more excited about his beer turning colors than his wife being pregnant is cute but mentioning sex in a birth control commercial is taboo? The mind reels.

1. I totally agree with your observations. I find it ironic that cleavage is a marketing advantage with Donny Deutsch types but then there's the guy in the office who takes the cosmo to the bathroom and he's rated a "creep." I'm not sure how to navigate all these mixed messages. Tween girls go from selling toys to explaining why the were caught nude with a camera. Then on the other side there's the growing rate of sexual crimes and increased rate of sex addicts (who usually get laughs in the media, not sympathy). I think money says it all. I think affluence and economics is part of the way we see sex. If your a rich heffner type then your considerd a success but if you sell dildos from a trailer, you're a loser and the town council would rather you keep your trailer out of plain sight.

5. Finn - I watched the little cut and past video about Fox and I think the charges are goofy. A couple quick points:
1. The LA Times, not Fox, started the use of the term "Magic Negro", describing Obama. Why aren't they being called racist?
2. If McCain went to a church where all they talked about was Euro-centric things and about being a white person instead of talking about God, wouldn't we be calling him racist? Of course. Why does Obama's church get to be Afro-centric? If that's not racist, what is it?
3. If a white person was doing what Jesse Jackson & Al Sharpton are doing wouldn't they be accused of exploiting blacks and not helping them?
4. To use little snippets of a discussion about race to try to smear and to turn somebody who you don't like into a racist because of jealousy of Fox News is demagoguery. These anonymous little You-Tube cut and paste artists have no shame. Michael Moore would be proud.
5. This is all conveniently times to coincide, apparently with Fox coverage of the Democrat Convention where the Fox camera crew has already been viciously attacked by those "peace-loving" radical left-wing Democrats. Shame.

It's disheartening to think that inane commercials and advertising can confuse someone. I have yet to be influenced at all by Pepsi, Levi's, McDonalds, or Trojan rubbers.
I guess that proves the masses are asses.

Hey Mike! What is it like to be a simple minded limp wristed liberal? How does it feel to vote for a government that assumes you are stupid? I guess being a liberal is a good choice for you as you seem to have slight retardation. Liberals think America was built on the government and Conservatives know that its the people and the business owners that make this country go around. Liberals...hilarious.

So, if that's true, is monopoly a good thing? What do you mean by 'go around'?
