Palin's Teen Daughter Pregnant!

The political site Daily Kos outlines the conspiracy theory (presented with a timeline, photos and video) that Sarah Palin's youngest child, Trig, is actually her daughter Bristol's baby.

Palin's camp came out swinging, but their defense today came as something of a surprise: Seventeen-year-old Bristol Palin is not four-month-old Trig's mother, because Bristol is five months pregnant now.

We did NOT see that one coming. (And if the New York Post tomorrow doesn't use the headline "Juno, Alaska" we will be very disappointed.)

The New York Times
has the full story, in which Sarah Palin says: "Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows that she has our unconditional love and support."

According to the Washington Post, "for social conservatives, a teenage pregnancy is something of a jump ball," so there's no telling how the news will play with the Republican base. Frankly, for us it's less compelling a scandal than troopergate.
