121. First of all, I would like to direct this comment towards the sentiment expressed in Comment 8. Secondly, I would just like to say that I am actually undecided as who will be my presidential pick this coming November, so this is in no way a blind defense of the Obama's due to my political beliefs. I would just like to start by saying that I am a new mother of a 9 month old baby girl. I work 2 part-time jobs and go to college full-time. As much as I would like to spend every waking hour with my daughter, it is just not possible. My husband, also does not get to spend much time with her because he works over 60 hours a week. Thankfully, my daughter is cared for by her grandparents when we cannot be there, but what you are trying to say is that, just because we both work and have other obligations, that we are "unfit parents". I would like to say that just because some parents have to leave there children to an outside caregiver in order to keep a roof over their heads and guarantee a quality future for their children does not qualify as "unfit". And I am sure that the Obama's have there girls being taken care of by quality individuals when there careers need them to be elsewhere. The only difference that I can see between myself and the Obama's is that technically Michelle Obama does not need to work, however, it is a personal choice that the two of them have made to strive for the standard of living that they have, and they should not be judged for wanting the best in life for their family, and their abilities have earned that for them. Now to flip your argument to that of the other family in the news. Is it not true that Sarah Palin has a 5 month old baby with Down's Syndrome? How do you suppose that she will take care of her own baby while in office? Will she keep him in her office at the White House or the Capital building? Will she redecorate the west wing with "Sensory Critters" to keep him entertained and learning? The most logical answer is "No", she will need to relegate the responsibilities of having a child with Down's Syndrome to a quality caregiver in order for her to properly perform her own responsibilities of the office of Vice President. So, therefore, according to your ideal, Sarah Palin will also be an "unfit parent", and an "unfit" VP.

127. Well, to the person who said that Sarah Palin's daughter probably was practicing safe sex - forget it! If they both had keep their clothes intact (this is as nice as I can say it) there would be no sitting governor with a teenage pregnant daughter. Mistakes are made everyday - but not one that's this close to the presidency of these United States. Evangelicals are proud that Bristol is keeping the baby but what about her becoming pregnant in the first place! The press had Jamie Lynn Spears for breakfast, lunch, and dinner but everything is JUST FINE if Bristol is pregnant and her mother running for the Vice President of the United States. This tells me that we have "gone to the dogs" when it comes to any measure of morality. As an African I bet you my salary that if Barack Obama oldest daughter was of age to become pregnant and did so without the sanctity of marriage, EVERYONE would have been all over it like white on rice". Lastly, why would Hilary Clinton supporters and anyone else who wanted a woman on a ticket, so quick to support someone as pro-life as Palin is and McCain who promised to keep us longer in Iraq? All they can say is that they have someone wearing a skirt. Is it really worth it?
