The Young Turks were at the Republican National Convention all of last week and we had some interviews that were doozies, but none more entertaining than this. We interviewed Senators, Congressmen, Governors, black Republicans, gay Republicans, etc., etc. And then right at the end of the convention, this guy came up and started yelling about sodomy. He insists he is against it. You be the judge:

2. Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa - this is one laughably confused and MAJORLY screwed-up fool. And yes, I think we can safely say, a BIG OLE CLOSET-CASE! (Newsflash - straight guys spend most of their time thinking about pussy: how to find it, get it and keep on getting it. They are not OBSESSING about what gay men do with each other.) But hey - he sure sounds like your typical born-again, hyper conservative, fear-based, FASCIST REPUBLICAN.

3. Cenk-
Presidential election is in full swing and Cenk picks a hot election issue while covering the RNC. Is this part of the fantastic coverage of the RNC Cenk promised??????
Can't wait to hear about Cenk's coverage of the Presidential vote on election night.
What about the new Gallup poll McCain 50% Obuma 46%
Good work Dem's keep attacking Palin as your way of change in the USA.
Gallup poll had Obuma ahead by 19% on question of who would be better choice to improve the economy, Obuma or McCain? That was before the RNC. After the RNC, this poll has shifted 16%, a huge change.
Obuma is now only ahead of McCain on the economy issue by a scant 3%
Dem's are again shooting themselves in the foot again and blowing another Presidential election

4. "Dem's are again shooting themselves in the foot again and blowing another Presidential election"
Okane,
I call them Polls Schmolls and have always called them that.
Kerry was rocking Bush in the Polls, and also was killing him the exit polls on election day. We saw how that turned out.
It won't even be close on Election. Now is when the campaigning begins. We'll see in November. This poll just goes to show that people don't really know squat about what's going on.
The Economy is in deep doo doo and only getting worse. McCain has no plans for change in this regard. None that can possibly be effective. He has to raise taxes somewhere.
Reagan destroyed our economy for future generations in his first term. In his second term, he raised taxes. Bush raised taxes in his only term. Clinton raised taxes in both his terms. It took 16 years to fix what happened. In 7 years, with 6 of those years in complete control of the Republicans, we trashed and through away all the work that was done in those 16 years and now we have the biggest deficit ever. We are now bailing out and taking control of banking institutions.
McCain doesn't have a plan to fix this or start the process of fixing it. If it took 16 years to fix Reagan's mess, how long do you think it's going to take to fix this mess?

6. I have to agree with Cenk -
Who cares what consenting adults do and where does this guy get off telling anyone how they feel? Cenk was right, unless you are gay, you have no idea what you are talking about. So gays don't love each other? - I could say that man doesn't love his wife/girlfriend. It's just a chemical reaction he has when he gets a hard on, one brought on by evolution no doubt.
And the rhetoric he was spouting like a run-a-way train. No one could get a word in edgewise, it makes me believe this guy is involved with an end of the world cult.
If you don't agree with the actions of others - don't do them. But to say they are sick - depraved individuals and what they feel and do to each other is unnatural - is insane.
This guy is so gay and so far into the closet of denial it isn't funny. Everything he described as homosexual being - he is himself.

Sarah at 11:16AM on Sep 8th 2008>>>
Sarah, brainwashed "young Republicans"?
How about the untold millions of "young Democrats" casting their vote for Obama?
All these kids that have "read up" on his bio & memoirs & think they know their candidate. They're not brainwashed, right?
These kids may know more about the issues than I do but there's a difference understanding how that knowledge is implemented. You've got to have been a part of the system before you can make a true assessment of what those policies actually mean & how they play out. Probably 75% of these kids have never been actively involved with the economy or other political/social issues. Maybe Obama should legalize marijuana & tax the hell out of it, they could relate then.
Cenk should have posed the question to a young Democrat or had a Log Cabin member debate Ryan. Now that would have been interesting....

Botts, I respectfully disagree good buddy.
The economy IMO is on the mend as we speak. Petroleum pricing has bottomed & stabilized & with hopes of it slipping downward toward at least 3 bucks a gallon will stabilize the entire economy & fix uncertain pricing on most goods & commodities.
Consumer confidence will return when this happens. As much as gasoline pricing fed into the bad side of the scenario it will revive the good side as well.
The biggest dilemma normal households were facing was the despair of rising prices with "no end" in sight. That's hopefully over now & believe me, corporate America is more than happy to accomodate buyers again with goods they can control the price of as well.
The housing crisis IMO also is bottoming out. Yes, I realize the numbers don't reflect that but inventories have flattened & home prices have dropped sufficiently to bring qualified buyers back into good market areas. Some will linger longer than others because of severe over pricing in those areas. It's more geographical than national now. Looking forward my perception spells at least stability in the near future. One yr out tops IMO.
With those two factors working together the consumer will start to stir again. I only hope with a little more responsibility than in previous yrs.
People have got to start living within their means, cut down on plastic debt & work through their own private economies in responsible fashion....

14. By the way, everyone should find out about Steve Cokley, a fellow Chicagoan who served as assistent to the mayor in 1988 while Obama was active and a community organizer. He accused jewish doctors of intentionallly injecting the aids virus into black children. It too a week before the mayor fired Mr. Cokley and almost a civil war between blacks and jews in Chicago. Obama's silence in the face of this abomination stands as testimony to his "experience" and how it should be viewed. He is truly a wolf in sheeps clothing.
