The Young Turks were at the Republican National Convention all of last week and we had some interviews that were doozies, but none more entertaining than this. We interviewed Senators, Congressmen, Governors, black Republicans, gay Republicans, etc., etc. And then right at the end of the convention, this guy came up and started yelling about sodomy. He insists he is against it. You be the judge:

46. Botts, can you explain Obama's middle east policy vis a vis Israel and the Palestinians please?
eric at 9:12AM on Sep 9th 2008
47. Also, what's wrong with lobbyists? Lobbying is not illegal or underhanded. Many of the iconic liberal causes form civil rights to global warming are the subject of lobbying. Who is being simplistic now?

48. Also, now that Obama is in trouble his money is starting to dry up, a sure sign he is in trouble. Given how unpopular the President and Republicans are, it is a testament to how poor a candidate Obama is that the race is so close. If Obama were not African American he would be ten points further behind. The irony is that the novelty of his race is helping him.

Did you just get a new rubber duckie?

If one cuts through the BS, your comments read...this chick is ignorant, doesn't know much, but hey I think she's a fast learner soooo....>>>
Tim, what are you talking about? I don't have to blow smoke up Palin's ass, I was offering a simple thought to the challenges ahead of her, you did a 180 on it. The woman's got true grit & it threatens your positions.
>>>Hmmmm, If that's the case, why don't we skip the learning curve part, the wide eyed fundy part, the flat earth part, and find a conservative woman who already knows whats going on in DC and around the globe,is up to speed on science and technology>>>
Tim, for anyone to suggest ANY of these candidates aren't behind the curve when they take the oath after the election is wishful thinking. Being in the White House is a tad different than working the Senate floor or a single state governorship. You're of the opinion Palin has to be up to snuff on what interests you (science & Technology) but then you're saying Obama's qualified to be commander in chief after never serving in the military? I don't think any of that's on the questionnaire for any of the candidates. I almost wish it was.
BTW, that was one of the first things she replied on when asked the question about ANWR drilling, scientific studies supporting it's of no real consequence to the environment there.
>>>Oh thats right, acid mouthed ex-beauty queens who can read a telepromptor and deliver a line with a gleam in their eye, who believe that war is from god, who love guns, and who hate globally accepted scientific priniples, play well in the red states. "She's just like us they cry" and so the republican base is energized.>>>
Is that the same as an unknown black candidate captivating millions with his eloquent speech making (teleprompter style) who plays to the left with more entitlement through higher taxation, assembly line abortion & thinks the world is coming to an end tomorrow? The same guy energizing the "blue states" with his ongoing rhetoric to the weak minded? What a hypocrite you are.
>>>BTW who sez knowledge is basically introduction?
Tim at 10:18PM on Sep 8th 2008>>>
I said it, I suppose you may be the exception to the rule though. Things may just pop into your head & you deem them the new law of the land. People learn everything through "introduction" albeit in any form....

51. read the dates on mccain's surge endorsement----
like the generals said, mccain was against it until the last minute.
and pray tell, why did we need a surge in the first place.
the maliki government is now refusing to pay the shieks the money we promised them, and patraeus now says that we may have to fight the maliki government.
mccain is now stuck with a don rickles in lipstick
and they have to ration her 15 minutes of fame.
but hey, cheney via rome phoned in his endorsement.
washington is just like versailles, but without the sophistication, wit and glamour.

55. "As a man of the cloth, I am surprised that you jerk around with the truth."
The jerking around comes from you time and time again. The problem, is that you can't handle the truth because you are a bigot and a complete mentally unstable human being.
"You know quite well that bundlers pack together money, just as I had shown, and Obama has also had on his web site. The 2 oil executives who bundled money and Obama's web site acknowledged it."
Who's denying anything? Not me. What's your point Robert?
"Also Reverend Botts, you are well aware that Axelrod and Biden's son are lobbyists, or do you deny that also. Want the full background on that."
What's your point Robert? Are they working for the respective campaign? No. Has Biden voted on anything that coincides with what his Son does? No
"Reverend Botts-do you disagree with source that McCain contributions from lobbyists came to only $655,576. And your pissing up a tree over that Reverend?"
I'm not talking about contributions. 169 Lobbyists work in his campaign. This is a huge conflict of interest and dictates what he does.
"Reverend Botts, you imply McCain has been influenced in some evil way by some evil lobbyist, but supply nada, none, not one single piece of bull shit. No names, no amounts of money, just "McCain has 169 Lobbyists in his campaign""
Which he does. And that directly influences his policies Robert. What don't you understand about that? What don't you get?
"or
"So Barack getting $100 from a worker who works with JP Morgan Chase is going to influence Obama? ""
A worker who sends $100 isn't even compared to having a Lobbyist work for you. You can't compare it. To do it would be idiotic, but you prove to be that constantly.
"But air head, you sort of missed JP Morgan total contribution from JP Morgan is $362,207, and not $100."
No Air Head. What you don't seem to get, is that JP Morgan Chase has a ton of employees throughout the United States. Do you now think that workers donate to Presidential candidates?
"If JP Morgan had no interest on influencing Hussein Obama, they would have sent in 3600+ $100 donations. But I know you know that cuz I know you are not that stupid. You just want to pull on peoples chain."
"They" didn't send a penny. Again, what don't you get? What don't you understand Robert?
"So Obama is accepting money from Fortune 500 companies that has been bundled, the same as accepting money from a lobbyist who is paid for by the same Fortune 500 Companies."
I'm glad you wrote that. Clearly there is a difference, but you either know this and are being obtuse, or you just don't know this, and I'm educating you.
"Same, Same-you know it and to deny it is a Big Lie."
Bigoted, racist asshole.

56. "Botts, can you explain Obama's middle east policy vis a vis Israel and the Palestinians please?"
Eric,
Don't want to look it up?
# Ensure a Strong U.S.-Israel Partnership: Barack Obama strongly supports the U.S.-Israel relationship, believes that our first and incontrovertible commitment in the Middle East must be to the security of Israel, America's strongest ally in the Middle East. Obama supports this closeness, stating that that the United States would never distance itself from Israel.
# Support Israel's Right to Self Defense: During the July 2006 Lebanon war, Barack Obama stood up strongly for Israel's right to defend itself from Hezbollah raids and rocket attacks, cosponsoring a Senate resolution against Iran and Syria's involvement in the war, and insisting that Israel should not be pressured into a ceasefire that did not deal with the threat of Hezbollah missiles. He believes strongly in Israel's right to protect its citizens.
# Support Foreign Assistance to Israel: Barack Obama has consistently supported foreign assistance to Israel. He defends and supports the annual foreign aid package that involves both military and economic assistance to Israel and has advocated increased foreign aid budgets to ensure that these funding priorities are met. He has called for continuing U.S. cooperation with Israel in the development of missile defense systems.
He is also the cosponsor of the Palestinian Anti-Terrorism Act of 2006. This was formed in the wake of Hamas gaining control.

57. "Also, what's wrong with lobbyists?"
Do I even need to answer this question Eric? Are you that blind to the facts of what has happened as a result of Lobbying?
"Lobbying is not illegal or underhanded."
Then why are Lobbyist in prisons? Because a lot of them turn to illegal and underhanded activities to get their agenda across.
"Many of the iconic liberal causes form civil rights to global warming are the subject of lobbying. Who is being simplistic now?""
Who's being ignorant Eric? Things have gotten out of hand. Things have changed. When things are going good, people abuse this, and it becomes something it was never intended to be.
Botts at 12:05PM on Sep 9th 2008
58. "Also, now that Obama is in trouble his money is starting to dry up, a sure sign he is in trouble."
Which propaganda bullshit did you read that from dude? Not true in the least. Boy are you lost.
"Given how unpopular the President and Republicans are, it is a testament to how poor a candidate Obama is that the race is so close."
You know nothing about how these things work do you? This is a testament to how a good portion of the American people constantly by time and time again the Republican crap. They campaign extremely well, but always get voter to vote against their best interest. Lies, rumors and completely false assumption get drilled into the heads of listeners over and over again until they just buy it all. They can't govern worth a crap, but it doesn't matter.
This election, you will see the first African American elected President despite the massive discrimination and resentment that still lingers with older generations. It won't even be close. And might I add, this will probably be the most Cerebral and Intelligent President we've had in a very long time. Clinton was intelligent, but not as much as Obama.
"If Obama were not African American he would be ten points further behind. The irony is that the novelty of his race is helping him."
I think your true colors are coming out now. Now I know it's not about the issues with you.

No Randy, I don't see the "religious nut jobs" trying to shape or manipulate environmental policy because of the upcoming "rapture". Don't worry about conservatives being out of touch with the environment, we do it because we love & respect it, not try to politicize it. Your leaders of the environmental front aren't very impressive following their own beliefs, I believe I'd leave that one alone. Commerce wins out even with the enviro hypocrites on your side, ask the "tree nuts" at Berkeley. Let's hear it for free enterprise!

Those Islamic idiots hate us primarily because of your chosen stances. Try posting some of our "love to hate" inadequacies. Then explain why your "poster boy of hate" Olberman just got canned by his own kind for trumpeting it over & over.
Have you got a problem with us being energized?
