31. "If you were being objective Bobby, you would come here saying how embarrassing this pick was. She has proven this with her constant talking point lies on the trail, and her seriously laughable interview."
*********************
It was a smart pick. The mere fact that your side is falling all over itself trying to come up with an effective way of countering it, proves that. So far, they haven't been able to do so.
You can call her a liar, inexperienced, lacking in knowledge - whatever. Those same charges can and have been made against Obama as well. The difference is, she's running for VP and he's running for the top spot. With your ticket there are no ifs, ands or buts about it. The candidate with those ascribed attributes WILL the president if elected.
It's time for you to admit that, intentional or not, McCain's choice of Palin has created a can of worms for your party that, as of yet, you can't contain.
There are people (I know, because I have talked to them) who aren't particularly committed to one side or the other who came away from her interview with Charlie Gibson with one overriding image. That of an overbearing, pompous ass looking over his reading glasses talking down to her as if she was someone unworthy of serious consideration.
I'm being honest when I say this. I sincerely hope your side continues this concerted effort to criticize everything about her. Don't stop, don't let your better judgement keep you from taking each and every little nugget and blowing it up way out of proportion. Keep doing what you're doing.
Not because I'm so enamored with McCain/Palin. But because it exposes the Obama campaign's whole phony-baloney "change" facade for what it is.
The REAL lipstick on a pig.

Amen, other than the left coast and Holllywood I feel that most people are beginning to see the desperation and the "air out of the balloon" from the democratic side. Americans are seeing the bias in the media and if nothing else many will vote just to prove that the media doesn't control who they vote for.

35. >>>Comment to Bobby
Are you really that much of an idiot..?
to make a statement about someone's honest opinion and shut it down with your own ignorance. It's the American way... it seems. You could run for President also by your standards...
Propaganda? Your propaganda as far as i'm concerned.
Trecee at 12:15AM on Sep 13th 2008>>>
Trecee, I like to study human nature on these blogs. The psychology of what steers people into certain directions is one of the most fascinating parts of following the individual writings posted here. Fifty % is bullshit, but there's some interesting, knowledgable people on here expressing their views to fill the gap.
CA Wren's comments were one of several I've read so far since this "actor", Damnon, said he was "terrified" of Palin being elected. You accuse me of being an "idiot" but you think unfounded mass hysteria shouldn't be challenged or questioned. What does this say about your judgment? I've heard the Palin stare down with foreign leaders analogy used over & over. Do you think Hillary was truly that much tougher than Palin? Maybe you & CA are suggesting women just "can't cut it".
Please also point out what would lead you to believe my comments were "propaganda". The absolute ignorance of yourself & CA Wren thinking Palin is on her own & she'll run slipshod imposing her policies on the world are ludicrous. Study up on 'resolution 1441' that led us into war with Iraq & see the involvement of our gov't at work. The VP presides over the Senate, that's pretty much their sole responsibility. They have no executive powers, they're primarily an understudy & stand in for the president. Ah yes, you want to paint the scenario McCain's gonna croak his first day in office & Palin's going to be looking around in bewilderment.
You & others who write this tripe have no faith in our system of gov't at all, your stated comments expose your shallow thinking.
Read Randy's post explaining his fear of McCain/Palin, it's comprehensive to his beliefs. I can't debate/argue that. I mean I could but it would be me imposing my will on him, not my job.
Spreading of the hit & run opinionated rumor mill I can argue,, & I will....

36. Using Sarah Palin's logic...if being able to see Russia from Alaska qualifies her in Foreign Policy, then, since I can see the moon from my back yard, does that qualify me to be an astronaut?

37. >>>Obama was doing up close and personal interviews Bobby way back in 2001 before he ever was in the Senate. You guys keep harping on "executive experience". It doesn't mean dick, and McCain said so himself in the primary debates. So we obviously know why he picked Palin. Knowledge, forethought, intelligence and decision making count too. Palin's answers show a lack of knowledge. 2 weeks wasn't enough time to teach her.>>>
The first time I ever heard of Obama was in '04 after his keynote address at the DNCC. I'd venture to say everyone outside of Chicago would say the same. If he gave an interview, it was for the Daily Tribune, not national headlines scrutinized to hell & back. I've readily admitted Palin needs more time catching up on the upper tier of gov't., that's a no brainer. Democrats lose credibility arguing their candidate's presidential qualifications while deflecting on the inexperience & "gotcha" tactics of the biased media unfairly discrediting Palin.
If the ticket's were turned around, we wouldn't be having this argument. Palin & Obama would be on similar levels. Instead, the Democratic ticket has a "community organizer" no talent hack running for the front office. Let's not emphasize that though, bad form.
>>>Because his name is Barack Hussein Obama and he is a person of color. A lot of people can't get passed that. His answers to the issues have been spot on in foreign policy, and I like his proposals for our Country.>>>
You like him, I don't, 'nuff said.
>>>If you were being objective Bobby, you would come here saying how embarrassing this pick was. She has proven this with her constant talking point lies on the trail, and her seriously laughable interview.>>>
I'm not getting into this argumentative side of it with you Botts. I like her philosophy but I'm voting for John McCain as the man I want to see as commander & chief & leader executing our apparent forthcoming exit from the war while implementing stronger fiscal policies for this country. IMO Palin will fall right in line with those beliefs & serve this country well because she truly loves serving people.
That includes you & me....

38. I never heard of this man. If he went to the transcript of the interview rather than rely on The New York Times for "all the news we see fit to print or make up," he would be better informed and thus interesting.
Otherwise, he is not to be taken seriously. Honestly, he is irrelevant.

39. Charles Krauthammer, the man who coined the phrase “Bush doctrine,” turns the table on the condescending Charlie Gibson.
Take off your smart glasses, Charlie. Because you’ve been schooled:
The New York Times got it wrong. And Charlie Gibson got it wrong.
There is no single meaning of the Bush doctrine. In fact, there have been four distinct meanings, each one succeeding another over the eight years of this administration — and the one Charlie Gibson cited is not the one in common usage today. It is utterly different.
He asked Palin, “Do you agree with the Bush doctrine?”
She responded, quite sensibly to a question that is ambiguous, “In what respect, Charlie?”
Sensing his “gotcha” moment, Gibson refused to tell her. After making her fish for the answer, Gibson grudgingly explained to the moose-hunting rube that the Bush doctrine “is that we have the right of anticipatory self-defense.”

41. If you'll follow the news on tv about Hurricane Ike, you'll see the "mayor" of Houston giving a press conference.
This is what mayors do in time of crisis & concern for their citizenry, at least the good ones.
Grassroots downhome involvement with community affairs that pertain directly to people in the line of fire & everyday existence, the epitome of executive experience.
Qualifications? You decide....

42. The word is out: we all want change! Change from a media bias that is skewered towards socialism. I am terrified at the thought of a rank inexperienced community organizer running the country with tried and failed socialist ideas and an aging, good ol' boy party hack of a senator as a backup.
Go McCain! Go Palin! It's a ticket I support--where's my checkbook.

43. ....here's why Sarah "stumbled" on the Bush Doctrine question.
Bush Doctrine
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
The Bush Doctrine is a journalistic term used to describe some foreign policy principles of United States president George W. Bush, enunciated in the wake of the September 11, 2001 attacks. Scholars identify seven different "Bush Doctrines," including the notion that states that harbor terrorists should be treated no differently than terrorists themselves, the willingness to use a "coalition of the willing" if the United Nations does not address threats, the doctrine of preemptive war, and the president's second-term "freedom agenda".[1]

44. I love it when you guys call Obama a community organizer wit h no experience. Palin hasn't had much either if you look at her record. And no Brain McCain's degree in business which he barely got is no help with what the responsibilities of the presidency entail.
What intrigues me is that their chosen careers are not points for their qualifications for average Americans on this blog. The president is the head of the executive branch and is responsible overseeing the bills the house and senate create. Even if Obama and Palin didn't understand what the Bush Doctrine is or what problems ail the economy there are plenty of advisors that supply them with this information. As they have military advisors to guide them through current war conditions, laws and provide steps on what proper procedures should be taken
But for people to think that a degree in journalism and business is a better qualification than a degree in law blows my mind. To truly read and understand law lingo is not something Palin or McCain are qualified for.
Senators and House representatives seek out lawyers and lobbyists to create legislation not clearly understood by the likes of McCain or Palin, so why would they seem to be better qualified than a Obama who has taught law and practiced it in our own country for many years? Why are people compelled to vote for the less intelligent man when obviously this has gotten us nowhere in the past?
I am compelled to vote for Obama based on the facts that he knows law, understands its lingo and will not need anyone to twist his arm or tell him false interpretations on what any legislation truly states.

45. Yet another example of the liberal media attacking Sarah Palin for allegedly having what they call "no experience" when in fact their own front runner candidate has way less experience.
I'm not saying that Sarah Palin has all the experience in the world, but for Christ's sake quit being so damn hypocritical. I still have yet to see Obama subjected to even one tough question in all his 19 months of campaigning. Hmm, I wonder why that could be?
I always knew the media was biased to the left, but this election has exposed them for what they really are.
