Finally, it's no longer a one person race, where McCain just beats up on Obama and there is no response. Obama has at long last began to strike back:

16. 15. The financial system is in meltdown. We are heading for The Great Depression II. Thanks a lot George W. Bush and all you Republicans for screwing up the economy gloriously. And you fundamentalists want four more years of this shit? You must be out of your f**king minds. But then, of course you are!
PS Just remember the eight years of peace and prosperity that you had under Bill Clinton. Ah, those golden years. And you can have them again.
Vote Democratic!

You seem outraged, why is that? The economy is ok, the govt. ensures s steady flow of cash and get bailed out? Home values have stopped or are close to it, unemployment is just 6 percent or a bit more. All you libs want to do is throw money at the problem, not find a way to cut spending. That is BS. Why do you think Congess changed in 06, The republicans suffered from democat spending syndrome and they got whacked for it. Now, things suck under the Dens, but do you see any attempt to cut goverment? No, and you won't either. you want higher taxes, vote Obama, but don't say anyone made you do it. That went out in 1945 as an excuse to rid the world od
f scum, now they have rights. The left are psychotic in their beliefs.

18. The race card won't work like it did with Bill Clinton because lies only work once. McCain's GOP machine is very carefull not to include anything race related and guess what it is fustrating the heck out of Obama and his leftist friends.
BILL ON THE OTHER HAND THOUGHT HE WAS black and entitled to insult what he thought were his people.
Another Irish guy can call me a donkey but if someone other than a fellow Irish desndent does it's offensive. Bill thought by being called the first Black President that he realy was well guess what the guy started to be known as a racist.
McCain knows who he is and doesn't have a racist bone in his body, so guess what BARRACK IT WON'T WORK AGAIN! BUT America knows that you SIR sat in and listend and supported people that hate WHITES AND JEWS! 20 YEARS YOU MR. OBAMA ARE WHAT YOUR PEOPLE ACCUSED BILL CLINTON OF!

OK dust off the old fear of the coming of the depression. In the 90's it was the Republicans would wreck SS and the Democrats promised it would provide Seniors with a paid Rx plan. Well no depression came and the seniors got an Rx plan from the Republicans.
USA GDP growth at 3% last quarter. That is hardly a depression. We never even went into a Recession as the Democrats claim, just an economic slowdown.Unemployment in USA is up to 6.1% which is still lower than the average unemployment over the past 40 years. USA economy has taken a hit with the rising of oil prices worldwide and the mortgage crisis, yet the USA economy is still growing.
Meanwhile, the rest of the world is in more than an economic slowdown. England is in a recession. Economy in Europe is in a big time slowdown, heading for a recession. Unemployment in Europe is going up again form it's low now of avg 8% and going up to 10% or more once again.Japan GDP was minus 3% last quarter and China says it is in an economic slowdown and inflation is getting out of control.
And the Democrats and Obama plan to boost the economy is to raise taxes and spend more money. You do not increase capital gains taxes in a slow economy in order to get the economy rolling. Giving free medical coverage to all 21+ million illegal immigrants is not the way to control spending. Throwing over 800 billion dollars to the UN in the form of a UN tax on USA for the UN's poverty program and carbon tax global warming plan is not helping us in the USA.
Democrats just keep on with the fear game-SS, recession, Roe vs Wade and on and on-then blame the Republicans for using fear to try and get votes.

20. How can an issue, like abortion, a law that WILL NOT change in our lifetimes, be your deciding factor in voting?
Like a senseless war and homeless people, people that can't afford to see a Doctor....and a rotting economy...things we can do something about are not important???!!!
Change what you can, help those who are here if you are that worried about your fellow humans!

22. I'd love to spend a day with that guy that said the economy is OK...I'll be he's one of the 5% that will actually be affected by Obama's "tax" increase....as to the other 95% of us....I earn more, yet can afford so much less that I could 8 years ago.
Mr. McCain, for those who are unaware wants to tax employee health insurance benefits! As if we are not already being raped by the cost!!! Tax cuts MY ASS.....for who? The people that need it the least.
As for Democratic spending....where was the national debt when Bill Clinton left office? $000it seems the Republicans are the spenders the national debt is unacceptable....your "spending" record speaks for itself! Not to mention the blood money to those who are profiting from this war.
Regime change begins at home.

23. ....I earn more, yet can afford so much less that I could 8 years ago.
Mr. McCain, for those who are unaware wants to tax employee health insurance benefits!
I find it curious that whenever someone makes a comparison and uses a time frame it always seems to coincide with administrations. It never happend over say 3 years , 5 years, 6 years, 10 years, etc.
Why and what is it that you can afford less of than you did 8 years( there's that mystical number)
ago.
As far as taxing employee benefits goes. Many companies offer benefits in what is often referred to as "cafeteria style" benefit system. Under such
systems employees receive a certain amount of "benefit dollars" each month, based on the salary, length of service, job position, etc.
These "benefit dollars" may be applied to paying for different benefits. If your spouse has a great medical plan and you are under it, then you do not need a lesser plan from your employer. You can apply those dollars to other things, i.e. dental, eyeglass, life insurance( say your salary multipled by a chosen number upto a limit before a physical is required) You can spread the "dollars" out or you can take them in the form of additional pay which is then subject to income tax, state and federal. The benefits are from "pre-tax" income, they only become taxable if you choose not to apply these dollars and take them in you weekly pay check.
Also, I personally pay anywhere from 10 to 15 dollars or more per week for health insurance. Oh not for me or any member of my family. For somebody else. I do not know who they are, I am just told by the Democratic politicians that control my state , that this is way it it is. Now that is a tax on benefits. Funny but I am being taxed for someone else's benefits.

24. I guess I'd rather see Obama do some of his own dirty work for once, instead of relying on surrogate parties like the women on "The View" to do it for him. It's worth keeping in mind just how long it took him to get off the stick on this stuff next time someone espouses his remarkable leadership abilities.
bob at 9:39AM on Sep 15th 2008
25. relying on surrogate parties like the women on "The View"
It is sort of humorous, if not sad, that there are individuals that actually believe that a lot of these shows like The View, Oprah, Dr Phil, Judge Judy, etc, etc. are more than entertainment. They actually believe what is talked about should be taken seriously. Each side uses them . There is normally a majority of one viewpoint and a "token" member with an opposing viewpoint. This "opposing viewpoint" person is usually so far out that they are a caricature . This allows the majority viewpoint to seem the more sane and reasonable than it really is. The same goes for celebrity endorsements. Think about this, someone who is willing to wait in line for hours, if not days, to get a chance to pay for the thrill of watching someone perform can actually take to heart advice from that celebrity. I tend to go with advice from those who are qualified within a field as opposed to those who merely serve as window dressing.

26. Here is an exact quote from Obama's book, The Audicity of Hope..."I will side with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction". No American who truely loves their country could ever consider voting for a man who would fight against the USA. President?..he should be in Cuba.

It's also okay to parse McCain's ads for "hidden racism" but it's not okay to criticize Obama for referencing a Navy veteran as an old fish and a female candidate as a pig."
You want to blame the media for calling Mccain on his BS and LIES and you try to support them with completely irrational logic. If you look at the "SPEECH" that Sen. Obama was making when he said the "lipstick" comment, you will clearly see he was talking about Mccain's policies. But if you allow the Mccain ad tell you what was said then it does look like Obama made the comment against Palin. It's obvious to me that you've accepted the latter at face value without any personal scrutiny. In that case, you are one of the millions of "low information voters" that the media talks about. If it was in their power, the media would take your voters registration card until you became more informed about the issues and which ads are true and which ones are misleading. But you've done yourself a disservice by supporting a CLEARLY DEBUNKED LIE from the Mccain campaign.
I suppose you also believe that Mccain/Palin stands for "change" as well. How can they. Palin is under investigation for ethics violations. Several of Cheney's advisors have already been found guilty of violations of the law. Does "Scotter Libby" ring a bell with ya? No change there!
Mccain hasn't proposed a single policy that is substantially different than what Bush currently have in place. When he's asked how is he different than Bush, he says, "environmental policy." Environmental policy!?! The one policy Mccain says he's different on does not have the far reaching implications that a "true" domestic policy would have to promote "change." So he's a Johnny come lately to the "change party." But to get in, he's lost his integrity along the way.
We've seen the "change" the republicans can bring about: CORRUPTION!! CRONYISM!!! TRAMPLING THE CONSTITUTION!!!
As for experience, Obama has exceptionsl experience. It's not enough to have "experience." The president most have the "right" experience. Obama has proven that he has the INTELLIGENCE, knowledge of world events and domestic policy to be president. Mccain and Palin don't know anything other than "drill baby drill." I watched Mccain in Florida today and he had to read from notes to explain what his domestic policy consist of. People who are voting for Mccain/Palin truly don't LOVE or CARE about this country. They are no different than the 9/11 terrorists who used our freedoms against us. They care about partisan politics and getting a republican to continue the screwed up policies of George Bush. But I suppose if you've got millions of dollars of net worth then you may not care very much what happens to this country. You can simply pack up and go live in Baja California or somewhere. But the average American can't do that.
And I am completely disgusted with people like you who try to pit "motherhood" with running a damn country. Are you people stupid? Just because you're a mother don't in any freaking way qualify you to run the flipping country. Sure mothers do a lot. But picking up the kids from school and taking them to recitals is in no way as complex and demanding as the task of creating domestic policy and writing legislation. Are you people really trying to say that an Ivy league education is the equivalent of being a mother?
P-U-H-LEASE!!! Any woman can spread her legs, get pregnant and have a baby. But show me any person, male or female, who can become the HARVARD LAW REVIEW EDITOR. That's the difference in the experience argument. Can a "mother" run the country? Probably so. But as a mother, Gov. Palin can't run this country because she doesn't have the "right" kind of experience.

28. You live in a dream world. Obama and his surrogates like you have relentlessly been attacking Mccain in every way possible. Given Bush's unpopularity and the state of the economy Obama should be ahead by 20 points. It is a tribute to the American people's lack of confidence in both Obama and the Democrats to solve our problems that Obama is not doing well in the polls. Americans are not willing to put the country's future in the hands of Troskyites as an antidote to our problems. The Democrats have become the moral equivalent of the Village People and don't represent Americans. Until the Democrats throw out the trash that is currently their leadership where there is not room for a social liberal like Joe Leiberman because he disagreed with the Democrats on one issue the Democrats are again doomed.

Why don't you get Obama to run an ad telling America "any woman can spread her legs". I can see why you're enamored by the Ivy League bullshit since you don't have a brain to think for yourself.

30. But show me any person, male or female, who can become the HARVARD LAW REVIEW EDITOR.
Kind of curious, most editors have published things.
What are some of the articles, columns and editorials that Obama has written while an editor at the Harvard Law Review. Not memoirs now, but actual things that were printed in the Harvard Law Review. Could you supply some names, dates, etc.
Thank-you
