Barack Obama spent eight years serving in the Illinois Senate and Obama also continued to work for the small Chicago law firm Davis Miner Barnhill & Galland. In those roles, Barack Obama helped Rezmar get more than $43 million in government funding.

Got to run for now but I will inform you of Barack Obama's support of legislation that is partially to blame for the massive crime/murder rate that plagues the Chicago area as well as his support of Infanticide.

63. yess!!! i love this guy, that was awesome
still though i think McCain saying the fundamentals of our economy are strong immediately after Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy takes the cake for stupid statements.

64. You couldn't get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience.
You couldn't become Chief of Surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon.
You couldn't get a job as a teacher and be the Superintendent after 143 days of experience.
You couldn't join the military and become a Colonel after a 143 days of experience.
You couldn't get a job as a policeman and become the Chief of Police after 143 days of experience.
You couldn't get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience.
BUT....
From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working. After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World .... 143 days.
We all have to start somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that's all it is - a start.
AND, strangely, a large sector of the American public is okay with this and campaigning for him. We wouldn't accept this in our own line of work, yet some are okay with this for the President of the United States of America? Come on folks, we are not voting for the next American Idol!

65. None of the current ass-clowns in the running know anything about economics, except to throw around the word "change" and continue the same malarkey that has ruined our economy. Only Ron Paul had the correct answers, and a detailed plan to stop our free-fall. I don't hear any of these ass-clowns mentioning a return to sound money (the gold standard), eliminating credit altogether, ending foreign interventionism and domestic interventionism, turning to a laissez-faire free market, etc. We had a chance to elect Ron Paul, but the establishment and its media puppets made sure no real change could ever occur.

66. If you were to check the bankruptcy records since October, 17, 2005 (this is the date the new bankruptcy code went into effect) you would find that a very high persentage of Chapter 7 bankruptcies are minorities. Why not conservative whites? Simple. Conservative white people actually take care of their finances unlike liberal minorities. Conservative whites for the most part cannot meet the "means test" that is required to have a full discharge Chapter 7 Bankruptcy (where I'm at is around 47K). In the law firm that I'm at we do a little over 500 BK's per year. I do know what I'm talking about. This crisis involves both Democrats and Republicans in Congress, and especially in investment banking, reinsurers, mortgage lenders, laywers, stock brokers, et cetera, et cetera. Ms. Kasparian, please do everyone a favor, actually do some research before you write you blogs. If you only believe that Republicans are invokved you are not only lying but are deluded in your thought process. It just "ain't" happening. You don't get a cookie. Go to the back of the class and put on your dunce cap. Better luck next time.

68. Guys,
I think Bush meant it when he said "console" with his economic advisors. Someone has to hold their hand as they bear the burdon of grief over their failure to do their job. They have to also "console" the president for not paying attention to his job.

69. To 64,
Obama's job as U.S. Senator is full-time not the part time job you describe he worked during only the 143 days the Senate was in session in Washington.
What the heck are you conservatives afraid of: having a president with a BRAIN? A president who knows the constitution inside out? The guy who would follow it to the letter? The Constitution, the Bill of Rights that were designed to protect the American people's rights of freedom, liberty and justice for all? for the people, by the people and of the people.
This is the people's country, I believe designed to be a served by a government that works for the people and not one that works for the powerful lobbyists who are now running the campaign of John McCain. McCain the deregulator and privatizer whose job as Chairman of the Commerce Commission, which he boasts is position of one who oversees all areas of the economy, doesn't know a damn thing about the economy even though he has had 26 years in Washington.
What we need is fresh blood, a Democrat in the highest office. Dems do the best clean up of the debt filled financial messes left by Republican administrations. History proves that.

My point is that Fannie/Freddie are not Capitalistic Companies. They are cross breed mutts labeled with the euphemistic GSE moniker. Capitalism is not being socialized. What happened is that a Socialistic Government Program (ala: Social Security and Medicare) blew up. I hate having to bail out any Company much less Wall Street but the bottom line is that Fannie/Freddie sole junk and since they are a GSE we have to make good on the deal. Lets say for simplicities sake that the mortgage backed securities Fannie/Freddie sold were lemons. Now the taxpayer is having to foot the bill for the Lemon Law.
That said, all Fannie/Freddie executives that collected bonuses should be required to pay them back 100%. Raines, Johnson, Gorelick and others involved in cooking the books should be prosecuted.
Also, if you are not scared of a Four Letter Word, RUSH, then you should find the section mid-page by Robert Higgs very informative.

73. McCain and Palin are done; Americans are beginning to open their eyes, and see that McCain is the past...Obama is our future. The GOP has had 7.75 years of driving this country into the ground; we will not reward you with 4 more. Sorry McCain, but you are heading back to Arizona, and Palin...well, I'm sure she she'll head back to the 'oh so difficult' job of running the 629,000 population state of Alaska. Enjoy your view of Russia Sarah...it's the closest thing to foreign policy experience you are ever going to get.

74. You who think Obama's gonna bring some sort of "change" are in for a rude awaking. Look at his past, his good buddies, his connections and I think you'll get all the answers you need in how he would act as President.
You Bush haters out there, get over it he's gone in a few months -- Sheeezzz who you gonna hate when he's gone? Palin? It's funny how a "villiage idiot" (you haters term of him) out foxed all you "elites".
What has the "Great" Democratic controled congress done lately besides expell loads of hot air -- they have more power than Bush and I have seen nothing done to address anything -- just lots of talk and finger pointing -- more of the same from a do-nothing Congress. Look who's pushing now to bale out Wall Street... the Democrats... Hmmmm. Let them fail. They are the evil rich after all, are they not? Who's really the party of the Rich.

Those are just your opinions ellie, and just bec ause you say so, when you don't even know the man and then expect people to believe your interpretation of several different, interchangeable boiler plate from Obama and just take your word for it? No way. Obama has been looking to run for president for three years. and the place wgere he is employed was closed for business so that there were only 143 days Obama could work for three years. There are four hunded work days per year not counting govt., relious beliefs, etc. and he's worked 143 days? That's a bit over 25% one one year in three. He knows crap, but he can't tell you that without a telepromter? And I bet you made fun of Bush on "console" didn't you? John Mcaine knows more that Obama will in ten years and stop with the Heartbeat" junk. Tell that to Harry Truman when FDR died three months after election and Truman not only had WII, he then learned about the A-bomb. You have no clue as to the pressure he was under, but it's character that's tempered by challenge and Palin is capable of doing what Truman did. That sounds sexist to me. Obama has not distinguished himself in any endeavor from Harvard until his run for the presidency and yet,he get's a free ride? No way. I'll roll the dice on McCain living out his term then Palin as first woman president, I have more to gain than trust Obama and lose it,so ellie, you do the Follow the dot DNC line or check it out yourself
