So isn't it interesting that we keep hearing about Sarah Palin's peccadilloes--most lately, that she used her private email account to conduct government business--while the major media continues to ignore the George Obama scandal? Here is a guy living in Third World destitution and his half-brother is the leading candidate to become the next president of the United States! How can we be blind to this national disgrace? Are the networks and major newspapers so exhilarated at the prospect of an African American president that they have become cheerleaders and cover-up specialists for the Obama campaign?
My modest campaign to help out George Obama has been coming nicely. Sean Hannity mentioned it on his show on the Fox News Channel, and I appeared on a handful of radio shows to talk about the idea. Interestingly the George Obama Compassion Fund was reported on by Kenya's leading newspaper "The Nation." So far I have received more than $1,000 in small contributions. With my kickoff contribution of $1,000, that's upwards of $2,000 for George Obama.
This is not a huge sum, but I specifically asked people to send gifts of $5, $10 and $25. The reason is that even a relatively modest sum by American standards is a considerable sum by Kenyan standards. George Obama has said that he is living on a dollar a month. This seems an impossibly small sum to survive on, so I checked the poverty line in Kenya. That is around $100 a year. By this measure, our little fund has provided for George for 20 years. Alternatively, George can move out of his 6 foot-by-10-foot hut and into a more comfortable dwelling. He can also get the training he needs to become a mechanic.
The reporter for "The Nation" thought he had me cornered when he asked, "Are you doing this to embarrass Barack Obama?" To which I answered, "Absolutely. He deserves to be embarrassed." The reporter went on to ask me since when I had developed this great interest in African poverty. I responded that I had only a slight and distant interest in African poverty. I happen to come from a very poor country, India, and my philanthropic work is directed there. In fact,I I only took up the George Obama cause when I heard what a jerk and a hypocrite Barack Obama is being about his sibling. One Obamoron emailed me to say, "Why don't you use your money to help your own impoverished relatives in India?" The answer is that my relatives don't live in huts!
The George Obama Compassion Fund elicited some interesting comments from donors, which I'll be forwarding to George along with the funds. "This is for the poor brother long forgotten." "A brother is a terrible thing to waste." "I wish I had a brother, or even a step-brother. George is not my relative and not my race or religion but I still want to contribute to his welfare." "When Obama said that not taking care of the least of our brothers is our greatest moral failure, who knew that he was talking literally about the least of his brothers?" "I never thought I'd be writing a check to anyone named Obama, but I do want to be a true Christian and help this man in this shameful situation." "I'd send more, but I make $9.10 per hour." "I'm unemployed, but I can spare $5 for the Obama Compassion Fund."
Not one of the atheists who regularly appears on this blog contributed a penny. (This is very much in line with sociologist Arthur Brooks' data showing that the most secular people are much less generous both with money and time than their religious counterparts.) As Brooks might have predicted, most of my donations came from self-identified Christians, some of them in difficult circumstances themselves. Thanks to this generosity, Barack Obama's half-brother can look forward to the prospect of a better life. George Obama, start packing!

You are blacker than me and I am African American. Are you part African American like Obama?
He is more white than many, after all he came out of a mother's womb who was white.
Why should you, a darkie be a racist?
Did you marry or sleep white?

17. I guess if the only "peccadillo" that Dinesh can find is Obama not supporting a grown person in another country who he's barely related to and doesn't know, then Obama must be pretty clean.
This is beyond weak, but then again I have half siblings who I don't know, so I get it. Dinesh, like always, just doesn't get it*

18. That atheists avoid this politically convenient charity drive only speaks volumes for their better judgment.
Shame on you , Dinesh, for playing political football with a human life.
So suddenly concerned are you for the welfare of the suffering children of Africa, we can expect a full report on your latest (or first?) trip to Darfur by next week? No?

Nah, he's just a dick. He "gets it", so that makes him a special kind of dick. Sinister, cynical, hypocritical dick. Now I'm giving him credit for not being just an ignorant dick.

20. Perhaps money is what motivates you and your kind, but did you ever stop to think that maybe this man enjoys the simple life? Not everyone needs the lifestyle you have, many would never trade shoes with you. You are a pathetic excuse for a Christian. Christ told his followers to give everything to the poor. When you hand over your entire bank account then I will take you a little more seriously. Until then, you are a liar and a manipulator, just like most of the people who continue to stand behind Bush and Cheney, even while our economy is in the toilet. You are an ass. You are motivated only by your own greed to keep a Republican in office so you never are made to pay your fair share in income taxes. Admit it you scum!

22. I notice the right has nothing good to say about their candidate, they just bad mouth Obama, that is all they can do. A recent article shows Obama can only lose because of prejudice. The real heart of Christianity is showing. Hiding one's prejudice behind a half brother's dilemma is a pretty cheap shot, but it seems the best the right can do.

23. THE FACTS. B.H.OBAMA WILL TELL YOU WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR! TRUTH IS HE HASN'T A CLUE WHAT THE OFFICE OF UNITED STATES PRESIDENCY'S RESPONSIBILITIES ARE!!!WORDS LIKE INEXPERIENCED, INDETERMINATE, LIAR, CONCESSIONARY, NARCISSISM, CONDESCENDING, ARROGANT,AND THOSE ARE HIM GOOD TRAITS. PLUS, IN HIS BOOK HE STATED, THAT IF POLITICAL TROUBLE BETWEEN MUSLEMS AND THE UNITED STATES BECAME MORE DIFFICULT. NE WOULD SIDE WITH ISLAM!!! NICE!!!

24. Disgusting. DD, this is simply disgusting. At least you have the balls to acknowledge that you AREN'T doing this out of Christian "compassion" - your motives are far sicker.

FUNDRAISING BID TO DISCREDIT OBAMA
More mud is being flung to discredit US Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, even as robbers raided his grandmother’s home in Siaya.
Prominent US conservative Dinesh D’Souza is attempting to embarrass Mr Obama by soliciting donations to a “Compassion Fund” for the senator’s half-brother who lives in Nairobi’s Huruma estate.
The writer, a supporter of Republican candidate John McCain, told the Nation on Tuesday that the fund-raising was meant part to highlight Sen Obama’s “hypocrisy.”
“The Democratic candidate has been “harping on the theme of helping the underprivileged while doing nothing to help his half-brother,” Mr D’Souza said.
George Onyango Obama, a 26-year-old son of Barack Obama Snr, attends college in Nairobi, and has been at the centre of Western media.
On Wednesday, Sen Obama’s relatives in Kenya rubbished the fund, saying it was motivated by malice.
Mzee Abong’o Obama a paternal uncle to the said the fund was not set up “good faith”. Ms Auma Obama, a sister to the senator said those behind the fund had been ill informed by negative publicity in the Western media.
Ms Auma said that the family was never approached with any offer for help and dismissed any such need.
“We wonder where D’souza got the information about family misery. He should have come down to Huruma to see whether George is suffering,” said Ms Auma, adding that D’souza was only after tarnishing the image of the senator.
But D’esouza said money collected for the “George Obama Compassion Fund” will be forwarded to Sen Obama’s presidential campaign on the condition it be used to help the senator’s half-brother.
He wrote in his blog on Tuesday that he had seeded the fund with $1000 of his own. He urged his readers to send contributions to a post office box in California, saying “even a few thousand dollars would completely transform this man’s life.”
“Let’s foster Obama family values, and give a break to a guy who really needs it,” Mr D’Souza added in his appeal for donations. Because the effort has just begun, Mr D’Souza said, he did not know how much might be raised.
He has never spoken with George Obama, Mr D’Souza said, and does not know whether the senator’s half-brother wants help from American conservatives using him to help elect Sen McCain.
Mr D’Souza said he was unaware whether George Obama even wished to move out of Huruma.
George Obama has previously told reporters that he was content with his situation. He also defended his half-brother from charges of being neglectful of his Kenyan relations.
Mr D’Souza said he had not contributed to organisations that strive to improve housing conditions for thousands of Kenyan slum-dwellers because his “philanthropic activities were focused on India,” where he was born.

27. Not surprisingly, we find out once again who the real givers are. To plug someone else's book for a change, read Makers & Takers by Peter Schweizer for the actual data on who gives, and who just pontificates about giving as long a there's a photo-op.

Very interesting article.
First most let me say...it is cool whether you are a democrate or republican. They both have the interest of the American people in heart. The only conflict is "HOW TO PROCEED ON SENSITIVE ISSUES."
Don't get me wrong...I think McCain is a good hearted gentleman....but I do not like the Barbie Doll he picked as his VP.
Not saying Obama or McCain are right or wrong.
This is a direct response to your blog.
First most I find it amazing..
that one minority would attack another.
Might I remind you without Dr. King Indian migrants would still be sitting back of the bus as others. Who are you kidding...of couse race (Obama) and gender (for Sarah Palin) is playing a key role.
Secondly in India there is high Anti-Islam bias.
It is understandable why people are in fear...but no excuse to agree with a party who believes in bombing innocent civilians just to show off power.
The comment about Indian people not living in huts...I would take it back. During my visit to India for missionary work....I saw people living in Cow filth. No roof....and the upper bollywood class use them as ridicule. Before I pass a comment on any other country...I would look at my own backyard. Yes there are good and bad in all.
Our country suffering economically and we have lost enough men and women in the war. I do not want the US Gov't to start a draft killing off more of our young genersation. (Sarah Palin already declared war against Iran and Russia).
And yes by any means we must protect ourselves from another 9-11.
But I think its time the US gov't lay off the testostrones and start keeping the enemy closer than their friends.
Just remember McCain and Obama are just faces to a Republican or Democratic party. Each party's agenda is always pre-set and the candidiate must follow whether they like or not.
Who knows maybe we do need Mr. Geroge Obama Hussain to help this country safe....maybe it is he who can keep the enemy close.
Or
Maybe we need McCain to follow another 8 years of Republican control.

30. Typical dimwit garbage blog. However, since poor george can live on a dollar a day, one wonders how much of the money, if he gets any of it, he will share with his equally poor neighbors.
One would also wonder why your, oh so caring, hero, the lieing, senile, war monger mcpain does not donate one of the houses he did not know he owned to poor george
