David Letterman Furious With McCain
John McCain canceled on David Letterman at the last minute yesterday, ostensibly so he could rush down to D.C. and save the economy. Only it turned out he didn't rush down to D.C., but in fact sat down with Katie Couric for an interview. (And when he did eventually get to D.C., he didn't do much to help. According to Democrats, he actually tanked the whole process.) Letterman's rage is palpable in these first few minutes of his show.

1. David Letterman is a bleeding heart Liberal. I wouldn't trust anyone who wear white socks with a suit. He brings on guest just to embarrass them. He's another one if you don't believe in his Politics you just not worth talking too. I have no use for him or the rest of those Hollywood Boobs.

2. OMG!He did what? Late Night is soooo more important than financial ruin for America. What planet is MCCain from?Does he not know the world revolves around New York and Hollywood? No more love from the liberal elite. No more lovin' from the View and Katie Couric.Alcee from Florida has chastised Palin!Oh the horror!

3. Heaven forbid that a nominee for President of the United States finds something more important to do than help David Letterman with his Top 10 List on his little comedy show. Letterman's been out of touch with reality for years. We have serious problems in our country, and he thinks he and his dog & pony show are more important. Dave used to be funny; now he's just an angry old man.

4. The View is the same as Letterma. They also bring on guest to embarrass them. If you don't agree with there Political views they hammer you. Whatever happened to being able to agree to disagree? This is why people are divided. You can't talk Politics. You can't talk Religion. That's the problem here you just can't talk anymore without getting into a nasty argument. This isn't about Dem and Repubs anymore. The country is so divided and pissed off they you can't have a decent conversation. I just heard Al Frankin (the crazy man) tell the people he want In God We Trust taken out of the Pledge and off the money. Who the F does he think he is? And I blieve this nut is running for something?

5. Furious?
It probably reminded him of when NBC passed him over for Jay Leno, who has vindicated their choice by consistently beating Letterman in the ratings game for about the last 13 years or so.

6. David Letterman day has come and gone. He needs to retire and give that chair up to fun and fresh talent.

7. George Bush said there were weapons of mass destruction. John McCain said he was flying to Washington, D. C. because of the crisis.Hmmmmm. Letterman's show is taped in the afternoon and McCain didn't leave N.Y.C.tol the nrext morning Letterman's main objective is entertainment BUT when he does have a serious guest on about a serious subject he does tend to give us food for thought.

8. Folks, here's the thing.
He flaked.
Now, if the situation is so dire that he has to drop everything and suspend his campaign, why is he showing up on Katie Couric's show to give an interview? What, McCain couldn't have told Letterman's viewers what the situation was? The fact is John McCain broke a commitment that he made, gave an excuse, and then went out and proved that he was lying about just how dire it was.
And where is Palin? Why isn't she giving the interview with Couric or Letterman? True I doubt she'd want a second go around after the drumming she recieved the first time from Katie, but she couldn't have flown to NY to go out in McCain's stead? This was a great opportunety for her: Hey, John can't come but I am ready and able to face your questions Dave. Instead she is no where to be found.
Incidently, I also say McCain's interview. It can be summed up as "The economy is about to explode. We need a bipartisan solution. That bipartisan solution should favor the lending institutions as much as possible so they can get back to making money as soon as possible. I don't want to debate Barak tomorrow because I want this solution worked out now." That's about it. Nothing he said there couldn't have been said on Letterman, or with Katie after the show.
A sad commentary on an American 'hero'.

9. Come on people, calm down. Dave Letterman is a smart man and knows what his job is. He is not claiming to have any influence in politics - though he dos have the right to express his opinion, as do all of us. I think that sayin Dave is "furious" is pushing it a bit, and is definitely missing the subtleties of Dave's brand of irreverent humor. I still think Dave is wittier, smarter, and more astute than Jay Leno any day of the week.

11. Dave forgets where he came from! His comments were out of touch and unfair about MCCAIN. Dave is a puppet for CBS sucking up to the big bosses. I WONDER WHOM THE CBS BOSSES ARE - ALL MEDIA AND PROGRAMS ON CBS HAVE BEEN UNFAIR. YOU AND I DON'T HAVE THEIR JOBS. HOW MANY CLASSIC CARS DOES DAVE OWN! I AM MIDDLE AMERICA AND YOU CAN'T PAY YOUR BILLS IF YOU LOST YOUR JOB TO CHINA. CONGRESS NEEDS TO THINK ABOUT US FIRST - I DONT CARE WHO IS TO BLAME - FIX IT. JOE BIDEN'S 48 BILLION TO GLOBAL AIDS BILL SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN PASSED RECENTLY - WHY- AMERICA NEEDS HELP NOW! I CAN'T HANG ON MUCH LONGER - WILL LOSE MY HOUSE - THAT I WORK SO HARD TO GET - THIS MESS HAS CAUSED HARDSHIP FOR MILLIONS AND WALL STREET AND EVERYONES GREED IS TO BLAME -

12. JOE BIDEN GET HIS GLOBAL AIDS BILL PASSED RECENTLY WHILE AMERCIA IS CRUMBLING! OBAMA WANTS TO PASS A GLOBAL PROVERTY ACT FOR 845 BILLION - GEE DO YOU THINK THE DEMOCRATS WILL SLIP THAT ONE IN AS WELL?
AND THAT MAKES JOE BIDEN'S OTHER BILL WITH OPRAH LOOK LIKE SMALL POTATOES FOR 340 MILLION FOR ON-LINE SEX OFFENDERS! THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL AM I VOTING FOR THEM!
MCCAIN/PALIN

13. Maybe Katie and Sarah can get together and pray John's lie away. Not only did he NOT go rushing back to Washington, but he personally tanked the bailout plan. Gee, thanks George Jr., it's not enough that I've seen my investments lose 2/3 of their value in less than a month, but I also have to listen to a Bush clone tell me he's rushing back to Washington to look for WMD. Why didn't he 'rush back to Washington' and send Sarah to the show? The woman has answered exactly four questions that were not given to her in advance so her staff could write her answer. I'm still waiting for someone to ask her if she really truly believes that dinosaurs were walking the earth a mere four thousand years ago.

14. JOE BIDEN'S GLOBAL AIDS BILL FOR $48 BILLION RECENTLY WAS PASSED - DO YOU THINK THEY WILL SLIP IN OBAMA'S BILL FOR 845 BILLION - FOR GLOBAL PROVERTY ACT TOO? WELL THIS MAKES JOE BIDEN'S OTHER BILL WITH OPRAH LOOK LIKE SMALL POTATOES FOR 340 MILLION FOR ON-LINE SEX OFFENDERS. THIS IS WHY AMERICA IS CRUMBING - WE NEED TO FIX AMERICA FIRST!
I AM NOT VOTING FOR THEM!

15. John McCain tried to drop another bomb on the campaign hoping it would yield the same effect as the Palin pick (which is fast becoming a joke, btw).
Instead of making him look like a maverick, it is showing him up to be a desperate old kook, making rash decisions purely for political purposes. He's a disaster.
The idea that he would have to cancel Letterman so that he could "save" us is so pathetic. Who's falling for this crap?
John McCain's slogan is "Country First." Sure, John. You pick an idiot from Alaska on whose inexperienced shoulders the fate of the country may fall so that you can get elected, then disappear during bailout negotiations, but try and ride in like the cavalry at the last second to make it seem like you brokered the deal.
The slogan should be "Me First."
