1. Uh huh, and you notice how Obie whined like a puppy then took his ass to DC after McCain outmanuerved him. Brilliant, Obie is playing frisbee and McCain says the country is more important than his campaign. Neophyte! Obie just uh'd and um'd while he was left in the dust. Too bad, another nail in the coffin

2. So when Barack Obama suspended his campaign and went to Captiol to vote on some important issues earlier this year and John McCain didn't, Harry Reid blasted John McCain but praised Barack Obama for pausing his campaign to go and work.
But now, when we are facing a HUGE economic situation that will affect all of us for years, John McCain is getting hammered for postpoing his campagin by Harry Reid and other Democrats. Wow...

Next stupid question?

4. Also, did anyone else hear Joe Biden's interview with Katie Couric? She was asking him stuff about the White House's role during a financial crisis. This is what he said:
"When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed," Biden told Couric. "He said, 'Look, here's what happened.'"
FDR? Television? ANyone alive during 1929 would tell you two things: 1) What in the heck is a television? 2) WHo is the heck is Franklin Roosevelt?
FDR was not the President at the time of the market collapse, it was Hoover. And the TV was still in experimental stages, definitely not being sold. Wow...if Sarah Palin said this it would be the headline story on MSNBC! Again, the hypocrisy astounds me...

6. Jacob, you want to quote something Biden said or Reid said, please link it to a site. I googled for both, and found neither. So I suspect it originates some where just south of your kidneys.

7. Here ya go Somber, you must be a couple days behind in the news, it happens.
>>>WASHINGTON — Vice presidential candidate Joe Biden says today’s leaders should take a lesson from the history books and follow fellow Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt’s response to a financial crisis.
“When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, ‘Look, here’s what happened,”‘ Barack Obama’s running mate recently told the “CBS Evening News.”
Except, Republican Herbert Hoover was in office when the stock market crashed in October 1929. There also was no television at the time; TV wasn’t introduced to the public until a decade later, at the 1939 World’s Fair.>>>

We live in a wired world - If you can't keep your commitments, while claiming that you have to be somewhere else, that's disingenuous.
Make a commitment, and when things aren't looking too good for you, just blow it off. You could ask McCain's first wife about this. When your commitment is as deep as your self interest, you've proven what your true commitment is.
Johnny has time and again proven where his true loyalties lie.

9. Thanks for that Bobby - I just got back on here. Here's another site link to that Somber - I'm not making it up my friend!

10. Simple question, has anyone seen any specifics on how this 700 billion is to be disbursed & over what length of time?
How can an accurate assessment be made of how much bad paper there is to cover with all these failures happening so quickly? Seems there was no accurate accounting beforehand now Congress just like that has narrowed it down to, "oh yeah, 700 billion oughta do it".
I understand they're busy hammering out the details but just wondering if there's a link stating more info on a rough draft of this.
How long would any of us stay in business under circumstances like this? Pretty disgraceful....

11. By the way, USNews.com does not originate form somewhere just south of my kidneys - just clearing the record! Just work on your searching skills, it's not that hard to find it on a search! I heard about it on CNN and just typed in "Biden+Couric+Interview+Depression" - came up immediately.
Jacob at 7:41PM on Sep 25th 2008
12. Good point Bobby. I haven't heard anything on how the money is to be distributed and how they came up with $700 billion. I have to say, your comment cracked me up on how Congress came up with that number! lol Good stuff...

ex, it's my understanding McCain & other Republicans want this legislation to protect taxpayers in some sense. I'm not exactly sure what that means & how that can be insured with so many accounting unkowns but wouldn't you agree that at least shows where his loyalty is?

Well said, bobby. Not only is it an arbitrary number, What's being done to ensure it doesn't happen again? If all your doing is covering the "bad paper," that's not a fix, it's a finger in the dyke. What's being done to eliminate bad paper? What will the penalties be for creating it?
By this plan, there are no penalties. I want life prison sentences. I want those responsible punished. I want accountability.
Pay the price for what you do. If we have to, so do they.

15. I hate to say this but Mccain is a CHICKEN SHIT!
I cant believe he was in the military.
The way he is trying to avoid this heads up debate, the way he wont let Palin talk to or answer questions from reporters.
Are they scared America is going to find out how dumb they are?
Why do they act so shady? Alot of people would've give Palin a chance but she doesn't want to answer questions from her future employers AMERICAN CITIZENS!
