Katie Couric Flusters Sarah Palin
Katie Couric seemed shocked by how little Sarah Palin knew about her own running mate in her one-on-one interview. Two examples: Palin didn't know the McCain campaign manager was still getting money from Freddie Mac, and she couldn't name one thing McCain had done for financial oversight in twenty-six years. And Couric asked her twice. Awkward!

1. I guess McCain's handlers have schooled Ms. Palin in just about every topic except their own candidate!! With the media frenzy around Palin now subsiding, we get down to the nitty gritty, folks. And here you have it. A VP candidate who is obviously a novice on the national stage - and she will be a heartbeat away from the presidency if McCain wins. Be nervous - be very very nervous.

2. Wow, no wonder the republicans have been hiding her! She's clueless....worse than we all thought. How scary to think that she could be our leader.
Tammy at 11:47AM on Sep 25th 2008
3. Let's face it - Sarah Palin is just John McCain's cheerleader! She's just takin' shots left and right, and she'll get right back atcha with those answers when someone tells her what to say! The McCain people need to do a better job of not only giving her the answers to questions about issues, they need to school her on how to direct follow-up questions away from the issues, which she can't answer. Heckuva job, Sarah!
Sarah at 11:50AM on Sep 25th 2008
4. It's clearly evident why she will not be allowed a press conference and why they want to cancel the VP Debate.
She is a disaster.
Every time a see a comment that says "Go Sarah", I feel uneasy because these are the same individuals that helped elect the worst President in the History of the USA two freaking times.
They're intimidated with someone that is brilliant especially when he isn't white. Given the fact that he has a Muslim name, doesn't help the uneducated or bigoted.

5. At least she didn't refer to them again as the Palin-McCain team. McC admitted that he knows ZILCH about economics yet suddenly he has to stop his campaign to race to DC "to help his country".
His manager said McCain has made so many gaffes bc "He's busy" Don't they think he'll be busy in the White House? Scared? I'm terrified at this duo!

6. Normally I would like to give candidates the benefit of the doubt when it comes to gaffes or instances of being dumbfounded on camera. Unfortunately, it seems to happen to Palin with a little too much consistency. Then add in the fact that her religious connections make Obama's "radical black preacher" (emphasis on the quotation marks) pale in comparison, and it makes you shudder...

7. While you folks are railing on how much Mrs. Palin does not know and all the negative stuff you can fill the media centers with, you have failed to point out one really stong difference with McCain and Obama. When our American streets are filled with Islamics bent on killing Americans, and the illegals run back to their own countries with it's "not our country", who is going to stand strong? Mr. Obama?
I seriously doubt it...he cannot even sport an American Flag on his lapel or airplane..."he does not want to take sides" or offend anyone! I'll take Mr. McCain anyday...because he actually has had military experience. Mrs. Palin may not have all the answers but at least she is not one of the "good ole boys" who have made it a career out of being in Washington. What happened to the legislatures who actually had a job and came together to decide what was right for the good of all the people. I might add that job was not being a Senator or Congressman and milking the people. If they are suppose to be working for the people, I, as one of the people would like to know how they can vote themselves raises and have the best healthcare programs and the best retirement plans? How about really investigating and get something worthy to print or is that asking too much? I don't care if they are Democrates or Republicans.

8. Palin will be our next vice president, the first female vice president in our history. Ada, if you have any sense, you'll vote for McCain and her, too.
Bob at 12:56PM on Sep 25th 2008
9. Palin is a perfect example of how oil money treats 'their' women: Honey, just sit there and look pretty. Toby Keith stated it best: I've got the money/you've got the honey/Let's strike a deal/Let's make a plan...
And this is the woman they offer to us as an example??? Explain that to your daughters.
Stephanie at 1:04PM on Sep 25th 2008
10. Palin is a perfect example of how oil men in oil dependent economies treat their women. Sarah, honey, please just sit there and look pretty. As Toby Keith says: I've got the money/you've got the money/let's strike a deal/let's make a plan...

11. Speaking of pitbulls...Sarah was just bit in the butt by the worst political ("Oh, I'm just a humble newscaster...") pitbull of them all.
The fact that McCain wanted firmer controls two years ago was plenty of an answer for Katie's question.
Her whole purpose was to make Ms. Palin look bad. To me, it just made KC look like a mean-spirited Democrat.
Was Sarah supposed to memorize John McCain's political career before sitting down to an interview?
Of course the handlers are trying to keep this *&^% to a minimum because the Democratically endowed media TRY to make her appear stupid just like they did with Dan Quayle and President Bush.
If they highlighted the stupidity of other's comments (Obama "Uh, uh, uh..., Biden "Stand up..., only two examples in a long line) or sat Biden down and asked him questions that he hadn't crammed for, they'd show up no better than Ms. Palin did.
I'm disgusted with the coverage.

12. Sorry to get off topic but I had to respond to Bob's comment above...
Wouldn't it be great to see history in the making where a woman becomes vice president? Yes. Would it be great though if the only reason you vote is just to see that happen? NO. This is about as bad as when people people complain that Oprah supported Obama because he's black but yet they'll vote for McCain because they want to see a woman as vice president. How about we vote for who we believe best represents our ideals - crazy concept, but that's what I plan to do.

13. God, she looks like she's a robot, programmed to give a stock answer on touchy subjects. Example -- on the shocking discovery that Davis's firm was receiving $15,000 a month from Fannie Mae right up to its seizure by the gov't, she could only mouth exactly the same words, with the same tone and inflection, TWICE in a row!
No intellectual ability shown there. If it was a man saying that, he'd be laughed off this site. Because it's a woman, some ignore that reality and say we have to vote for her.
Can you imagine being faced with a surprise like Couric's question in discussions with Putin or Mahmoud Ahmadinejad?? Kruschev walked away from a John Kennedy meeting convinced that he could put missiles in Cuba and almost brought on World War III.
Walt Culver at 2:49PM on Sep 25th 2008
14. Except three things keep poping up McCain's so called campaine advisor is not gettng paid, two) Couric has not asked Obama about anything substancial like...What his qualifications actually are, and three well there are more than three I could write about. Couric, Oberman, etc have constantly looked for anything yet find nothing a few questions about a running mate lets see if Biden can answer those same questions....Oh wait he already told the press that Obama's ads were out of bounds....but then he did turn around and state however McCains were too after three days and call from Obama. So Couric lets see if you know your MESSIAH....WHAT HAS HE DONE!
