Katie Couric Flusters Sarah Palin
Katie Couric seemed shocked by how little Sarah Palin knew about her own running mate in her one-on-one interview. Two examples: Palin didn't know the McCain campaign manager was still getting money from Freddie Mac, and she couldn't name one thing McCain had done for financial oversight in twenty-six years. And Couric asked her twice. Awkward!

31. GIVE ME A BREAK! PLEASE, WE ALL KNOW WHO'S SIDE KATIE COURIC IS ON? I HAVEN'T HEARD HER ASK OBAMA ANY TOUGH QUESTIONS! SHE'S NOT SHOCKED BY HIS INEXPERIENCE AND HE'S RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT!

32. Many people find it refreshing to listen to a politician that hasn't practised for hours to give an unemotional canned speech that someone else has written. How many people can recite the Bush doctrine? Sarah knew the basic concept. She was ask to be VP for many reasons which have been distorted from the real truth. Basically, what scares me the most is Obama's ties with Ayers, Rev. Wright, Raines, etc. Read Michelle Obama's Thesis and you will see were their real beliefs are. Or statements Barrack made in his books. Obama is half white but has never acknowledge 50% of his heritage.

33. What's most remarkable about this so called connection between McCain and Freddie Mac is that the connection is so weak and so far has only been collaborated by two anonymous sources who's party affiliations were publizied to be Dem and Ind. (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/24/us/politics/24davis.html) Read the detail. Also, the money was allegedly paid to a firm that Davis is no longer paid by and hasn't received any income or dividends from since 2006. Palin stated that he had reclused himself from the firm during the campaing. All of this is more than one step removed from McCain yet Obama taps the CEO of Fannie Mae to select his VP AND he accepts more than $120K in donations from them and you hear almost nothing about that. How can that be?!
My advice is not to read too far into an interview where someone didn't nail every question with a perfect answer - if they did I'd question the strength of the interview regardless of who it is, but rather watch the debates and then make your decisions about who's prepared.
Critisize her all you want - she'll be around and in a leadership role for many years to come.

34. Poor belle. I see that you don't really listen to what is being said. Enough already! What has Sarah Palin ever answered truthfully? Has she ever answered anything at all? I haven't heard a straight answer yet. But I have heard a lot of fluff. Again, I try to remain bipartisan in my views and vote for the best candidate. But this election has gone beyond what we as Americans should consider acceptable. When asked about her own running mate Palin couldn't even answer a question about anything that McCain has done to help with economic reform for the country in over 26 years of service. Tell her to google her running mate. Atleast attain some knowledge before her next interview. Yes McCain is a POW. But so are many others. Is that all that's necessary to run this country? McCain has voted with the Bush administration over 90% of the time (check your facts, don't just listen to what people say) and he claims that he is running a campaign about change? How so? What change can the McCain/Palin ticket offer? Let's not focus on the media's personal attacks on either party; instead, let's focus on this issues. Who is most qualified, not who is most popular. The truth... I'm not saying that Obama is the most qualified for the job, but he is by far the best that has been presented!!

35. I saw the Couric interview and thought Governor Palin did well. These questions designed to "stump the new kid" are irrelevant. Why should Palin be expected to know Senator McCain's initiatives on financial oversight over the past decade? Palin is a fast study and has a track record of making the right decisions in leadership positions. She has more experience coming onto the national stage than did Carter, Clinton, and, oh yes, Obama.
She'll do fine.

36. Obama supporters-don't be too surprised when Biden steps down as vp candidate because of an "illness" and Hilary Clinton steps in to take his place. Just trying to keep up with the Palin's!

37. This is something special for all the McCain fans. No matter what your political view are, is this really who you want RUNNING this country for atleast the next 4 years. Check out and pass along.....

38. Katie Couric is the biggest liberal around. Great on the Today Show, but as a newscaster - please. Watch her with Obama. Soft ball after softball.

39. Where do you get that Sarah Palin was flustered? I am a Democrat and I didn't see her flustered or knocked off stride one iota. If if weren't for her extreme views on abortion rights and religion and her pro killing of animals, she'd be ok in my book.I think that the press and the Democrats are getting frustrated that she is so together and doing so well. Should have run Hillary, fools.

40. Palin did nothing more upsetting in the interview than wave her finger at Obama. The wave of her finger was to represent the listless way Obama appears to her. It was insulting and condescending. Only to be upstaged by her yappity-yap hand gesture later in the interview. Truly unprofessional.

42. It's so very sad that there is a chance that we can have a Republican V P just a breadth away from being the Pres of the most powerfull country in the universe and I might know more about whats going on in the world than she does.

43. Hey Ada: I watched the interview and didn't see Sarah Palin get flustered, she did a credible job for someone new to a anchor on the downslide. When
you are going to go negative before the interview begins your not much of a writer, Ada Calhoun was going to write a negative article to begin with, so
it doesn't surprise me. Calhoun is a editor in chief of "Babble" quite an appropriate name for the
Babbler in chief, she also writes for two other
paragons of virtue "Nerve" and last but not least
The New York Times, so she's a liberal three times over. It's quite evident that Couric and Calhoun
are disturbed by a Foxy lady, which they are not.
So chirp on Katie and babble on Ada, your jealousy
shows like a giant zit on the end of your noses.
Sarah Palin makes you two look like Cinderella's sisters.

44. I think that if people don't open their eyes to this ticket( McCain/Palin) before them America as we once new it is LONG GONE. There is nothing wrong with CHANGE... right now with the way the economy is going we need change and fast, so what Obama is a black man, that should not cloud your judgement as to the fact that this man actual is willing to take on the mistakes and bad judgements of our president to date........ I don't discredit McCain for his service in the war... but what else has he done since everyone says that Obama has no experience and the only reason McCain chose Sarah Palin ( out of a hat) as his running mate was to capitalize on the fact that Obama did not choose Hilliary Clinton, so he could sway those women who were already on the fence. Before you go to those polls on Nov.4th make sure you really are prepared for the chose you make because the outcome is going to determine OUR future.

45. What would Obama or Biden say to a grilling on the democrats' complicity in prolonging the Fannie Mae Freddie Mac disaster and how Obama has been a beneficiary of this company. How truthful is Katie's question and how do you respond to a falsehood? This is the kind of falsehood and bias you find in the media. Does the media broadcast Democrats complicity in this debacle and the roadblocks they placed against Bush as he endeavored to prevent the current situation? Pelosi and her crowd must be voted out. Questions for Sarah by this media just try to tear her down. When did you stop beating your husband type nonsense. I'd vote for her for president, she has the courage of her convictions. Obama and Biden are always wrong when they take a stand and McCain tries too hard to appease both sides.
