1. Stenk -- More of the same useless crapola from you. You REALLY need to slink back to your toilet, climb in, reach up and flush yourself back to the sewers you erupted from.

2. Ana,
"You won't believe" is a given. No need to include that in the title.

3. i agree with you but it is "affected" not "effected. Leave the poor grammar to the Evilgelicals

4. At least learn to spell and use affect/effect correctly.

5. Affected, not effected.

7. "Effected" is correct.
Captain Negative at 3:17AM on Sep 26th 2008
8. Captain Negative the verb "effect" means to bring into existence while the verb "affect" means to influence or change. Unless the bad economy has created new people, the proper word is "affected".

9. Affected, not effected.

10. Please take it easy on Captain Negative. he went to public school and was not taught grammar. He was also not taught how to check fcts. But he really tries hard.

11. And take it easy on me. My fingers sometimes miss the shift key and some letters. I am afraid that my old third grade teacher will see these postings and order me to write the times tble from 1x1 to 12x1 -ten times. It was her favorite remedy for spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes.
longwalker at 12:47PM on Sep 26th 2008
12. I repeat. "Effected" is correct. My public school education was obviously superior to yours, longwalker.
The economy "effects" strippers. "Affect" is a psychological term.
Captain Negative at 2:09PM on Sep 26th 2008
13. To wit.
If the economy "affects" strippers, it causes them to feel an emotional state.
If the economy "effects" strippers it is because it has an *effect* on their incomes.
I'm willing to accept your apology, longwalker. I guess the English language wasn't important at Oral Roberts' law school.
Captain Negative at 2:14PM on Sep 26th 2008
14.
A affects B: A effects a result onto B
A effects B: A produces B as an effect
I say it should be "affected"
Mokele Mbembe at 2:23PM on Sep 26th 2008
15. If A makes B feel bad then it effects B's affect.
This is a simple matter. Go to the AOL tool bar. Click on, "Edit." Then open, "dictionary." Look up, 'effect' and 'affect.'
