Now that Al Gore has hooked up with Alfred Nobel, everyone wants to know: Is he or isn't he ... planning to run for President? Now the Nobel Committee has done its part, awarding Gore the Peace Prize for being "probably the single individual who has done most to create greater worldwide understanding of the measures that need to be adopted" to combat climate change, according to his citation.Freshly uploaded AP News Video.
The world's climate experts have long been making some very dire predictions about Global Warming. Because they are predictions, they rely very heavily on computer models. How about a Fresh New York Times Advert.
Many people-- especially conservatives-- warned about this. They pointed out that models are prone to many errors, and the scientific consensus is not always right. Other people chose to rely on the scientific consensus. Honesty compels me to admit that I was in this group. We didn't think think the consensus was the last word, but we did believe it was the best window to the future a non-specialist could look through.
So this part really hurts me to write. But I have to.
The data testing key parts of the global warming consensus are now available. The consensus of climate experts were wrong. Absolutely, verifiably wrong. The computer models were wrong. They simply do not match reality....Read More...
Did you enjoy that? It was quick, I know. Remember you can watch the full segment if you want to learn more. You can also watch this next clip, it's from Mr. Gore's epic documentary "An Inconvenient Truth." There are a few interesting points in this four minute clip. First the archive footage of Gore in '89 - that's Hansen he's warning about science suppression, which was 18 years ago! Another thing that blew my mind, Philip Cooney, the fella who edited the climate change document, Gore shows his resume on the big screen.
This is probably the best example I can find, if you have any others you would like to share, please do in the comments below, but please don't turn the comment thread into an "Al Gore bash fest."
Hopefully this concert can raise some awareness for the environment. Remember it was no less then 27 years ago when the great Carl Sagan asked, "Who speaks for the earth?"
Here are some examples of what may be termed "liberal morality":
Al Gore: My son may take illegal drugs, but at least he drives a hybrid car.
Ted Kennedy: I may have cheated at Harvard, gotten a woman drowned, and abused a host of women over the years, but the women's groups love me because I blocked the Bork nomination and always support "women's rights."
Barney Frank: I paid a man for sex and let him move in with me where he set up a male prostitution ring in my apartment, but I do wish to point out that I regularly contribute to the United Way and recycle my trash to save the planet.
William Jefferson: I was caught red handed with money in my refigerator but before you think of me as a Congressman taking bribes, you should take note of my leading role in passing the hate crimes act and other civil rights legislation.
William Jefferson Clinton: I seduce the interns, sexually harass women, and grant presidential pardons to my financial supporters, but let's not forget I am working with Bono on a solution to the problem of low internet availability in Africa.

I'll tell you what we want, what we really, really want. The dream team. Gore-Obama 2008. GOROBAMA!
Deep in our hearts, that's what we all want. Obama sounds so good. His speech on foreign policy yesterday hit so many good notes. But we're all a little worried about two things. Does he have enough experience to win? In other words, is he quite there yet? And does he have the courage to do what is right even if it might not be popular at the time?
Today brings news of polls in the presidential races of both parties. This post will look at the Democratic side of things. Tomorrow, I'll talk about the Republican sweepstakes.
The news is good for Hillary Clinton and her supporters. A poll by Rasmussen (perhaps the most reliable of these outfits) for the period June 11-14 shows her with 38 percent of her party's support, compared to 27 percent for Obama, and 16 percent for Edwards. A Gallup poll taken during this period gives her basically the same lead over Obama. This poll, which included Al Gore, produced the following results: Clinton 33 percent; Obama 21 percent; Gore 18 percent; Edwards 11 percent. No poll taken in June that's listed by Real Clear Politics (which generally captures them all) shows Clinton with less than a double digit lead.
Ben Mankiewicz finds that Joe Lieberman, the man Al Gore selected to run for vice president 2000, is "dangerous, dishonest" and "possibly dumb." Mankiewicz's defense of these assertions is long on invective and short on evidence, logic, and analysis. I guess being a "proud member of the reality-based community" exempts him from having to make a cogent argument. After all, if "reality" is on your side, what work remains other than to rail against people too corrupt to agree with you?
According to Mankiewicz, Lieberman "lied" after his latest visit to Iraq. The "lies" consist of his statements that withdrawing from Iraq would be a victory for al-Qaeda and Iran and that "overall" he saw "progress in Iraq on this visit." What evidence does Mankiewicz provide to support his attack on Lieberman's integrity? Well, for one thing, these are "Republican talking points, " which if you're in the reality-based community is probably all that need be said.
AT&T chief Ed Whitacre handed the keys over to his replacement Randall Stephenson yesterday, but not before giving a rousing pep talk to fellow executives in the company's San Antonio board room. We just received exclusive video of the AT&T chairman's parting speech.
Al Gore warned during a recent speech that Net Neutrality is important in regards to preserving the Internet.
We have already learned that Gore is third in the polls, if he runs I would imagine he would fly to the top.
