Now, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter and Glenn Beck have all said they would support Hillary Clinton over John McCain. They would rather have a Democrat win this election. In this clip Glenn Beck and I explain why:

It's Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week

I get more than enough emails informing me that because of my liberal views we will all be speaking Farsi soon and now I know where this fear might be coming from. We all have lived through the last six years and it's not hard to understand why people like Horowitz are scared. At the end of the day he just wants to get rid of terrorists, which is something I think we all can agree is a good idea, but I don't think blaming liberals is the best way to tackle this issue. To each their own, I guess, It just appears to me as a very odd way of dealing with this problem.

Well to mark the occasion I found some interesting links:
First...Horowitz' awareness website.
Thinkprogress has a CSPAN video.
Christopher Hitchens response article. - Defending the term Islamo-Fascism
The Nation - Forget Halloween it's Islamo-Fascism awareness week.
Alternet provides some awareness.
Ann Coulter will earn $25,000 for speaking this week.

Most importantly I want to share, once again, the Adam Curtis documentary "Power of Nightmares."
The films compare the rise of the American Neo-Conservative movement and the radical Islamist movement, making comparisons on their origins and noting strong similarities between the two. More controversially, it argues that the threat of radical Islamism as a massive, sinister organised force of destruction, specifically in the form of al-Qaeda, is in fact a myth perpetrated by politicians in many countries-and particularly American Neo-Conservatives-in an attempt to unite and inspire their people following the failure of earlier, more utopian ideologies...Read More Wikipedia...

What's the Most Offensive Thing Ann Coulter Has Ever Said?

This is the hardest multiple choice I have ever had to put together -- what is the most offensive thing Ann Coulter has ever said? There are so many choices, how do you boil it down to just four?

How do you compare her comments on Muslims -- America should "invade their [terrorists'] countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity" -- to her comments on Jews -- "we just want Jews to be perfected"? How do you decide which one is more heinous. I guess the comment on Jews didn't include killing their leaders and invading their countries. Does that make it any better?

Ann Coulter: American Best Seller

We know the drill:
1. Ann Coulter writes a book.
2. Ann Coulter says something incredibly stupid.
3. Ann Coulter becomes a best seller.

Why do Americans support Ann Coulter?

Ada wrote a post about Ann's latest statements, where she says everybody should be Christian and even the Jews can be "perfected" by becoming Christian. With currently over 35,000 responses, Ada's poll concludes that 24% of respondents are in Ann Coulter's corner; 24% - that's a lot of stupid. I wonder what percentage of that are women? Especially considering Coulter would prefer that women didn't have the right to vote.

I didn't see the Video in Ada's post, so that's where I come in...transcript too.

Ann Coulter Says Jews Need 'Perfecting'

This week on the CNBC show The Big Idea, Ann Coulter said everyone on earth should be Christian and that Jews needed to be "perfected." She suggested that Jews basically just need a tune-up to get on what Coulter referred to "the fast track."

Ever notice how she times these incendiary appearances perfectly to her book releases?

Here's how she explained herself when Donny Deutsch said she sounded like Ahmadinejad:

Fox's '1/2 Hour News Hour' - Canceled

The Fox News "Comedy" program that was designed to take on Comedy Central's "Daily Show," has been canceled. If you ask me news on a Comedy Channel works great (Stewart/Colbert), but comedy on a "news" channel is a recipe for disaster.

With flawless comedy like this clip below demonstrates, it's hard to understand why it's gone?

The Anatomy of a Right-Wing Hit Job: The Story of John Edwards' Haircut

When is the mainstream media ever going to catch on to the obvious right-wing smears that pop up every election cycle? This week we were treated to the same old political trick the Republicans do to almost every Democratic presidential candidate -- the expensive haircut!

How many times do you have to see this movie before you get bored by it? Or even catch on to what's happening?

Remember Bill Clinton's supposed $200 haircut? That was later completely disproved, but the late night comedians got a hold it and it was way too late. The damage was done already. How many people heard those jokes and heard conservative radio and Fox News Channel talking about it? Millions upon millions. How many heard that it was later shown to be untrue? Maybe eight people, maybe.

Then it was John Kerry's $75 haircut. Then that got bumped up to a $1,000 haircut. And one conservative blogger estimated that it even cost $15,000. Other than the fact that this is absurd, why do you think we never hear about Republican candidates' haircuts? You don't think we could find one Republican getting a $75 haircut? How about Mitt Romney? It looks like it would cost $75 just for the gel he puts in his hair everyday.

You know what? Mitt Romney is rich. So is John Edwards. So is almost every candidate running. And they're running for president. It's okay for them to get haircuts that are more expensive than ours.

Well, I'm not so sure Dennis Kucinich is very rich, but you see my point. Man, if they catch Kucinich with a haircut over $20, you know I'm right about the right-wing attack machine.

So, why do they do it? Why do the Republicans conjure up a haircut story every election cycle?

Pope says: Hell Is Back and Hotter Than Ever

God, please forgive me. With that said, now I won't have to suffer eternal damnation in hell, which is absolutely totally real according to the Pope. With so much violence and persecution happening between warring religions it seems people have forgotten the true meaning of hell. Thankfully we have Pope Benedict XVI to clear things up for us. Just a few days ago he claimed hell "exists and is eternal, even if nobody talks about it much any more." (Has Satan ever thought of shaving his head??? Worked for Britney!) The Pope must have been kidding when he continually defined hell as a "state" of existence and should be thought of symbolically.

As a theologian, the pope wrote about hell on several occasions. In the 1968 book, Introduction to Christianity, he described hell as a state of existential abandonment, "the loneliness into which love can no longer reach."

Vatican officials said that the Pope - who is also the Bishop of Rome - had been speaking in "straightforward" language "like a parish priest." He had wanted to reinforce the new Catholic catechism, which holds that Hell is a "state of eternal separation from God," to be understood "symbolically rather than physically."

These religious guys have got to get their stories' straight! The good news is, whether or not hell is a really hot place or just an existential bummer it's easy to get out of...but only before you die. Jesus is quick to forgive; so just as long as you remember to repent you should be OK.

Ann Coulter Finally Out-Bigots...Ann Coulter

Here's a fun game – what's the absolute worst thing Ann Coulter has said? Is it calling John Edwards a "faggot," or is it one of the many unfathomably cruel and hateful things she's said during her ten years in public life as a leader of the conservative movement?

She's had some doozies, but I think the Edwards line actually wins. You be the judge.
