Fox News: White House deserves medal for outing CIA agent

I am not sure if this is spin or smear, maybe it's a little bit of both, but Fox News anchor John Gibson would like to award a medal to whoever outed Valeri Plame. Now bare in mind, I am no American policy expert so I do ask for your opinions on this matter. I have always been under the impression that outing spies working for your own country was frowned upon. But John Gibson, who appears to not even be convinced Plame worked for the CIA, thinks Plame needed to be outed because she was anti-bush (she has admitted to being a democrat) and Gibson thinks any anti-bush sentiment needs to be "rooted out" of the CIA.

Now Fox News describes Joe Wilson as "hubby" to the TV viewers, but from what I understand he was also a Diplomat who went to Niger to find out if Saddam actually tried to buy Nuke building materials. His findings or lack there of have been published.

Gibson blows my mind... He says "If (Wilson) had stumbled upon Saddam's ACTUAL nuke bomb, he would have denied ever seeing it." How is that reporting news, he's reporting his own assumptions? How is this making your audience more informed? If you are a loyal John Gibson watcher you might actually believe this. Gibson believes that if Joe Wilson actually saw a Nuke Bomb in Saddams hands he would deny it? Holy Shit! Joe Wilson is a douche, would he actually go on a mission to find nukes, find one, and then not tell anybody? No wonder Gibson thinks Karl Rove deserves a Medal?

/ Plame interviewed by Jon Stewart back in October, for those who want to learn more about this woman and for those who miss Jon.

Valerie Plame Tell-All Is Leaked; AP Yawns

Valerie Plame's memoir, Fair Game, for which she received a reported seven figures, comes out on Monday, but the AP was able to purchase a copy early. They've provided some of the highlights for those of us who can't wait the weekend:
  • Plame accuses the Bush administration of "arrogance and intolerance."
  • When Robert Novak revealed her identity in 2003, she felt she had been "sucker-punched, hard, in the gut."
  • When she found out Rove wouldn't be charged in the leak, she felt "puzzled and angry."
In other words, not a lot of surprises.

Keith Olbermann Is Really, Really Angry

Keith Olbermann provides a special comment regarding recent Scooter Libby developments.

Very rare that you hear such an honestly angry voice within the mainstream media. Olbermann is not happy with the direction that his country has gone in while under the Bush Administration (hear, hear) and he is not afraid to voice it. Just listen to this small segment from one of his latest Independence Day eve rant.

Olbermann is asking Bush and Cheney to resign. You can watch the full rant here. He kinda reminds of this fellow, from the 1976 film "Network."

I'm Getting The Hell Out of This Germ Factory - And Final Thoughts On Melinda Doolittle

I wish I could stick around and comment on Valerie Plame (who should play her in the movie: Lisa Kudrow? Virginia Madsen? Ellen Barkin? Maybe Tara Reid in one of those "I didn't know she had such depth!" roles?). I also wish I could write about Donald Trump's CNN trashing of President Bush. I'll say this: When Trump isn't being a complete slob, he's really compelling. His scandal sum-up with Maureen Dowd a couple months back and now this interview with Wolf Blitzer are spot on.

But I must leave this Hilton Hotel room. God bless Conrad Hilton, who must be spinning in the grave at the behavior of his great-granddaughter Paris. But the truth is, his hotel is even skeevier.

Before I leave, though, let me say one thing regarding my entry on American Idol's Melinda Doolittle. (Judging from the ferocity of the response, you'd think I'd compared her to Saddam Hussein, Idi Amin, or Heather Mills.)

I never criticized her singing and I never meant to impugn her character.

I was merely suggesting that her uncontrollable weeping after her performance last Tuesday might be one facet of a sophisticated campaign to brainwash America through a shrewd combination of subliminal messaging and hyperemotionalism. In short, classic psychological warfare.

But it was just a suggestion.

More to the point, people, it's just a show!! Try to enjoy it.

Now I must do some sit-ups (towel on the floor!), take a shower, and take myself and my Billabongs out for a Chinese Chicken Salad!
