Michael Savage Picks on Autistic Kids

Posted Jul 23rd 2008 12:51PM by Cenk Uygur

Of all the dumb and hateful things Michael Savage has ever said, it turns out the one that has gotten him in the most trouble is the one he made about autistic kids the other day. That's because he was, as usual, totally ignorant and mean-spirited in attacking people's children. Listen to it here:

As a result of this outburst, some stations, including a station group in Mississippi, have dropped his show. Some advertisers, including AFLAC, have pulled ads from his program. So, now Michael "Weiner" Savage is in full backpedal mode. All of a sudden he's not such a tough guy. And, of course, he blames Media Matters for quoting him. How dare they run audio of his radio show, don't they know he's crazy and you can't listen to a word he says?

In this video we explain the background to the Chris Matthews apology to Hillary Clinton, show the actual apology and then explain why it has much larger ramifications:

Maybe we helped to push him toward this apology with our commentary on AOL Newsbloggers as well (you can see and read our analysis of all of his negative comments toward Hillary Clinton here). I doubt it, but hey, we tried. And he wound up doing the right thing.

Right-wingers have put together a list of the top ten most dangerous organizations in America. It is, of course, absolutely comical. But of all the absurdities, my favorite is who they put at #2. Watch below:

Here is a handy-dandy list if it helps you to keep track. Remember to watch out for these organizations, they just might report the truth. Nothing more dangerous to a rabid right-wingers than the facts. Be scared, be very, very scared -- the facts are out to get you!

Do Wildfire Victims Hate America? Glenn Beck Thinks So

Watch CNN and you will be able to witness the fury of mother nature. Right now California is experiencing a wildfire that has killed two people, forced over 500,000 to evacuate and destroyed over a thousand homes.

Flip the Channel to CNN Headline news and you will be able to witness the douchebaggery of Glenn Beck.

On the October 22 edition of his nationally syndicated radio program, host Glenn Beck stated, "I think there is a handful of people who hate America. Unfortunately for them, a lot of them are losing their homes in a forest fire today." Beck continued: "There are a few people that hate America. But I don't think the Democrats are those. I think there are those posing as Democrats that are like that."...Read More on Mediamatters.org...

So just remember when you are channel surfing for news and you stumble upon CNN Headline news, you could be getting your information from a douche.

Bill O'Reilly is Going Up Your Nose

The hits keep on coming with this guy. I have to give O'Reilly credit, he is an entertainer. As you can tell in the video below, I can't stop laughing just listening to his rants.

Some people are taking these threats far more seriously, but I have to confess that I find them funny. Listen to what we have below -- the man threatens to come up people's noses. How is that not funny?

Media Matters, of course, has more, including O'Reilly's (half-joking) threats to strangle his enemies.

Bill O'Reilly Explains What Black People Are Like

This guy is unbelievable. From listening to the clips below, you get the clear impression that Bill O'Reilly has never hung out with a black person in his whole life. He keeps getting surprised that they are just like everyone else. Who knew?!

Listen to these gems from his radio show where Bill O'Reilly explains black people to white America:

As usual, Media Matters broke this story. Click here for even more details -- it turns out African-Americans don't randomly yell "motherf---er" when ordering their food, either. The surprises never end when you're hanging out with Bill O'Reilly. He's like our generation's Mister Rogers for racists.

Remember the average age of Bill O'Reilly's television audience is 71 years old (the radio show audience might be even older). So, he is basically doing his show at a senior citizen's center for people who grew up during segregation. That's why the fact that black people and white people are the same might come as news to his audience. Maybe he is doing them a service.

We also have to thank Al Sharpton for introducing Bill O'Reilly to black people for the first time in his life. What a hilarious odd couple. I love the idea of Al Sharpton being Bill O'Reilly's first black friend. Bill, there is so much more he can teach you. But this will come as news to you, too -- Sharpton does not necessarily represent the average black man. And did you know they're not all the same? I know, it's so hard to keep up with this crazy, new America where all the races mix. Give it time, you'll get the hang of it.

Media Matters: McCain's Declaration, 'We've wasted a lot of our most precious treasure, which is American lives.'

Last night Senator John McCain made an appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman. After breaking the shocking news that he intended to seek the Republican nomination for president in 2008 he went on to point out America's frustration with the war in Iraq and what he believes has been wasted:
"We've wasted a lot of our most precious treasure [in Iraq ], which is American lives."
Media Matters questions whether Sen. John McCain will receive the same media attention as Sen. Barack Obama did earlier last month.
Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) made similar comments in Iowa on February 11, the Post and the Los Angeles Times reported the remarks the following day. The New York Times, meanwhile, devoted a February 13 article to Obama's subsequent apology and clarification.

Check out Media Matters for full coverage on this story.
