McCain Doesn't 'Believe' In Gay Adoption

We just saw on Strollerderby that John McCain, an adoptive father himself, recently said the following, as quoted in the New York Times, "I think that we've proven that both parents are important in the success of a family so, no, I don't believe in gay adoption."

Strollerderby goes into all the reasons why this is ludicrous, and how gay adoption has been shown again and again to produce kids just as happy and healthy as those in straight adoptive homes. If you want to humanize this topic, just check out this amazingly great blog by two men who are foster parents to a toddler.

But it reminded us of something John Edwards (remember him?) said back in the day.

What Makes a Brain Gay?

Time magazine has a new article about "the gay brain," illustrated by this sculpture of this gay head fragment. Here's an excerpt:

Scientists at the Karolinska Institute studied brain scans of 90 gay and straight men and women, and found that the size of the two symmetrical halves of the brains of gay men more closely resembled those of straight women than they did straight men. In heterosexual women, the two halves of the brain are more or less the same size. In heterosexual men, the right hemisphere is slightly larger. Scans of the brains of gay men in the study, however, showed that their hemispheres were relatively symmetrical, like those of straight women, while the brains of homosexual women were asymmetrical like those of straight men.

Lauren Hutton Blasts 'Sluts' of 'Sex & The City'

Lauren Hutton, bless her crazy, crazy heart, is on another morning-show rampage. Three years ago, she went on the Early Show and blindsided the anchor with a bisexual confession. Here's our transcript of that exchange:

Hutton: "Governments everywhere are men, and it is ancient and insane and shameful."
Syler: "But let me-"
Hutton: "We've got to have half and half. That's how God made us, otherwise there's only one of us and probably us. But God knows we wouldn't have come up with bridges or airplanes or lots of stuff. You know, boys have great vision and they're fun in bed. But, so there's certain, fine things for them. It's true. I've been both places. I prefer men."

Now she goes on the Today Show and complains to Kathie Lee that men are all sluts (wha?) and that slutty gay men wrote Sex and the City (which is not exactly true . . . ) thereby encouraging women to be sluts too (um . . .). Here's the money quote:

Video tip to Thinkprogress.org - Mahmoud Ahmadinejad gets booed by the Columbia University audience while answering a question about the treatment of Gays in his country, Mahmoud turned around and denied that gays lived in Iran. Apparently Mahmoud never watched the CBC documentary titled "Out in Iran" - Which is posted in it's entirety below.

The Worst Excuse Ever!

Bob Allen is a Republican State Representative from Florida. He was the co-chair of John McCain's Florida campaign. He is the author of a bill proposed in the last legislative session to strengthen Florida's laws against public sex, lewdness and indecency. And he is stridently anti-gay rights.

So, of course, you see where this is going. He recently got caught offering an undercover police officer $20 to blow him in a public bathroom. Don't get this wrong, he wasn't receiving the oral sex, he was giving it. And paying $20 on top. If you saw him, you'd know why.

But this isn't even where the story gets good.

We're All Gay -- The Only Question is How Much?

As usual Dinesh D'Souza is wrong. He sees the examples of the ancient Greeks and Romans practicing bisexuality as definitive proof that homosexuality is not innate. His theory is that since current Greeks and Romans don't practice rampant bisexuality (let's assume that's true for the moment being) and the ancient Greeks and Romans did, it must be a cultural thing. Not a genetic one.

Are the Teletubbies Homo-Agitators?

Polish Education Minister Roman Giertych has come up with a great new word: homo-agitation. That's what people apparently do to agitate others toward homosexuality. Apparently, Polish teachers are guilty of this. Why Polish teachers are involved in a conspiracy to turn little Polish kids gay is not explained.

Ewa Sowinska, a government-appointed children rights watchdog in Poland, has also chimed in with an attack against another group of well-known homo-agitators -- the Teletubbies!

She says in reference to the ever controversial Tink-Winky, "At first I thought the purse would be a burden for this Teletubby ... Later I learned that this may have a homosexual undertone." Aha, homo-agitation!

We discussed the possibility of the Teletubbies being a secret group of homosexual provocateurs on The Young Turks. As you can see from watching the video below, the jury is still out:

Colbert Word: The Intolerant

Posted May 8th 2007 4:33PM by Jeff Hoard

Stephen Colbert reports on the new idea of banning hate crimes against gays. I can't believe it's already not already a law in the States. I did some research and it turns out Canada just added a version of this law three years ago. You can learn more about the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007 here on Wikipedia.
Unfortunately, there is always opposition even for a law that appears to be harmless. It appears that being intolerant to gays is so important to some people that they will try to fight against this. Dr. Dobson Asks You to Help Defeat 'Hate-Crimes' Legislation
The hate-crimes bill is another outrageous attempt to silence opposition to the political agenda of homosexual activists, including gay adoption, the redefinition of marriage, homosexual propaganda in the schools, etc.
I am not sure what the political agenda of homosexuals actually is, but according to this particular story, it's to get rid of hate crimes. I think we all can live with that. So what is more important? The freedom from hate crimes or the freedom to commit hate crimes?

The Pope Is Stupid

By stupid I mean moronic, dumb, unintelligent, inane, a complete fool....I think you get my drift. I'm not an arbitrary Pope hater and I'm not criticizing because he wears funny hats and loathes gay people; the man simply does not understand the United States and he's trying to get all up in our business! Mr. Vatican City issued this statement today:
"Catholic politicians must oppose gay marriage: Pope says" The Church's opposition to gay marriage is "non-negotiable" and Catholic politicians have a moral duty to oppose it, as well as laws on abortion and euthanasia, Pope Benedict said in a document issued on Tuesday.
Beney needs a serious crash course in poli-sci. Like many religious leaders and believers, (which I'm disappointed to say includes politicians) he does not have a solid grasp on the First Amendment. I know its a tricky concept but let's go over it AGAIN:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Pope-ster, you know what this means? We're not allowed to make laws and weigh issues by religious merit. I really appreciate your interest in our country but our crazy quota has been met. Maybe when Senator Coburn or Senator Brownback or even Jerry Falwell finally go away you can step back in and work on threatening our Constitutional rights. In the meantime, go spread your hate somewhere else.
