At Las Vegas' Whitney Elementary School, where at least 75 percent of the pupils are homeless, the principal has set up a network of services for children and their families. The school runs both a food and clothing pantry and regularly pays utility bills, gives Christmas gifts and even arranges for dentists and barbers to provide free services.
