Bad Sign for Romney
I know about these kinds of shenanigans first hand. Back in '04 I grudgingly put up a Kerry/Edwards sign in the front lawn of my little ranch house here in Jacksonville, Florida. It was something of an anomaly on a block plastered with W. signs and bumper stickers, but what the heck. Freedom of yard speech is an important American value. Days later, I came home to find that the sign had been burned to the ground. All that remained were the charred remnants of the paint stirrer that I'd used to prop up the flimsy cardboard.
When I flagged down a passing police car, the female officer wasn't surprised by my story. "Yeah, we've been having that a lot lately. Stolen signs."
We'll see where an investigation of this video leads. Were the offenders on Romney's payroll? McCain plants? Check in for updates.

Will you people get over it. If what the Romney staff people obviously were doing were illegal. It would be front page news. It's not illegal on private land and doesn't make a difference as long as they don't litter. If what they did was illegal it would be part of the headline. GET OVER IT! This happens with all campaigns with all the canidate staffers. When I was a kid I used to take down Carters signs when I walked home from school. There was nothing illegal about it then and nothing illegal about it now. Mitt Romney is a righteous man, and people will do anything to make him look dirty. It's futile! He's impeccable. I'm voting for him, so there, you can't change my mind.

There is no indication that these signs were on private property. No house is shown. The plowed snow is piled so high, I don't think this is a private person's yard, butis instead some kind of public lot on a corner. No other house across the street has plowed snow piled so high and I don't think a local citizen would stand for the city to leave them blockaded in by snow.
Also, the leaning street signage we see the back of looks like something you'd find on public property, not private.
If McCain signs were placed on public property and someone replaces them, I don't think that is illegal; it's a free-for-all at that point!

Who cares whose signs are on the lawn? The Democratic landslide thats building will make them all irrelevant. Why do you think all these senior Republican congessmen are retireing this year? Better to go out with your head held high then to get swept out with the trash. Seven years - nothing accomplished, $2.5 trillion in deficits, and a phony WMD war in Iraq. No Social Security reform, no healthcare reform, no immigration reform, no energy independence policy. We can't afford another lazy, indifferent, disengaged moron, who can't even get things accomplished when his party controls both houses of congress. Progress takes work - and W hates work! None of the Republican candidates look any better.

As far as i'm concerned they're guilty. You don't take down somebodyelse's sign and put up your own - that IS low. Of course, it wasMitt Romney supporters in Florida who were voting 30 and 40 timeseach in the straw poll so this type of escapade doesn't surprise me.Truthfully - seeing how many times hes flip-flopped on issues, how hehad to climb down from the assertion that he saw his dad march withMartin Luther King jr, etc. etc. etc. - how he regularly makesstatements he later has to come back and explain... this man is notthe man to serve ME as commander in chief. I don't trust him. Gimme Ron Paul.
the octagon7:56PMJan 7th 2008
Who cares? Both men are irrelevant. Republicans have no one who can compete with Barack Obama. Obama '08!

As a Ron Paul supporter, can I ask that the various religious attacks please stop. No one really cares about anyone's faith. That is clause about having no religious tests is in the Constitution for a reason.
So let's quit with the "Ron Paul isn't an evolution believing atheist", "Romney is a Mormon", "Huckabee is a better Christian than Thompson", and "Giuliani is a lapsed Catholic", stories.
Let's focus on the issues instead. This is much too serious a topic to waste time on things that don't really matter. Regardless of your "special" opinion on the matter, most Americans really don't give a hoot what someone's religion is. Well over 80% just don't care.

Do you really think that the Romney people would be taking the opposition signs down all the while they are being filmed... surely it is a video clip made to show that Romney peple are doing something like this...a tactic of sorts. Who are these people really and who do they really represent.
Things are not always as they seem.
TomAYY11:18PMJan 7th 2008
I guess there really are people out there that are low to the earth! I DO NOT FAVOR EITHER CANDIDATE ESPECIALLT ROMNEY! But take another mans sign down is immature. And shows what retards would support Romney!

Obama mentioned his church during his appearance with Oprah. It's the Trinity Church of Christ. I found this interesting.
Obama's church:
Please read and go to this church's website and read what is written there. It is very alarming.
Barack Obama is a member of this church and is running for President of the U.S. If you look at the first page of their website, you will learn that this congregation has a non-negotiable
commitment to Africa. No where is AMERICA even mentioned. Notice too, what color you will need to be if you should want to join
Obama's church... B-L-A-C-K!!! Doesn't look like his choice of religion has improved much over his (former?) Muslim upbringing.
Are you aware that Obama's middle name is Mohammed? Strip away his nice looks, the big smile and smooth talk and what do you get? Certainly a racist, as plainly defined by the stated position of his church! And possibly a covert worshiper of the Muslim faith, even today. This guy desires to rule over America while his loyalty is totally vested in a Black Africa! Read the website below!
I cannot believe this has not been all over the TV and newspapers.
This is why it is so important to pass this message along to all of
our family & friends. To think that Obama has even the slightest
chance in the run for the presidency, is really scary.

Hoe can anyone vote for a man who has more than one spouse?????????
This country better wakwe up!!!! Come on America!!!

To all of you anti-Romney people - why is it so wrong for a man of God to win the presidency of this country? After all, wouldn't you rather have someone like either him or Huckabee (who is also a man of God) be the leader of oue great country, the two men, who by the grace of God, will always do what is pleasing to God and for the people He created, namely. you and me? Pray for Romney or Huckabee to win!

Right Ken...
Let's vote for Obama.. A black Muslim, with no experience, took an international relations class in college, doesn't put his hand over his heart during the national anthem, wants to raise taxes, pro-choice, special rights for homo's, to name a few... right, Ken, then we'd be in good shape.. What a moron!

How much CONFLICT in this world has been caused because people can't or won't accept another persons PERSONAL beliefs? If that person truly believes in that religion with all of their heart, I'm sure they are going to feel hurt, and maybe even a little angry if someone tells them how wrong they are. I'm sure when we bash or look for the bad in other religions like HUCKABEE does, we are only going to find another way to start a war. Mormons bring good into this world like most religions do. Why should we bash the good in this world when there is so much bad? What causes all of this conflict is the people in these denominations not the denominations. Huckabee acts as though the Mormons are crazy, why would we want a president who causes conflicts instead of resolves them? I want a President who encourages people to accept other people for what they believe, instead of fight or bash with them. I want a President who brings peace to us americans instead of war. I want a President who keeps us free to worship and believe in a denomination that we feel is right and true. I don't want one who bashes religions and causes conflict. We want peace, we want our freedom, and we want a President who will keep it that way!!!!
Hank12:47PMJan 8th 2008
What gets me is how people that persecute Mormons because of their doctrines, are the same people that cannot understand the most simple doctrine that Jesus taught us which is to love one another. Instead, they love to persecute others. I have no doubt those people taking down McCain's signs are not Romney's people. It is too obvious that McCain and Huckabee hate Romney because he is a much better candidate.
Anyway, I am a democrat because there is no room in the Republican Party for minorities. Now, if Romney runs for President, I would vote for him. He is very intelligent and has the skills to help our Nation without persecuting others because of their believes.

I saw a woman taking down the Huckabee signs who I assumed was a Huckabee worker, and a Romney worker putting up Romney signs. What a worthless video and a waste of time.
Jack Higgins1:56PMJan 8th 2008
Romney has his own problems right now, 7 out of the 10 most populated towns in New Hampshire are within 30 to 50 minutes away from where he lives in Belmont Mass. The seven cities and towns are as follows; 1 Manchester (50 minutes away)2 Nashua 30 minutes away from Belmont 4 Derry 40 minutes away, 5 Salem 30 minutes away, 8 Merrimack 40 minutes away, 9 Londonderry 40 minutes away 10,Hudson 30 minutes away. The numbers are reflective to where there population rank was in the 2000 cenus. It would take the former Governor twice as long to get to the Cape From Belmont MA than to any of theNH towns listed above; Truthfully Southern NH is right in his back yard!!!!!
Del3:01PMJan 8th 2008
No matter who switched the signs, it's wrong. Politics is in the gutter and I don't think they can get out any time soon. People are willing to "trust" Obama when his resume is paper thin. I would vote for a black candidate in a heartbeat if he had depth. Note I did not say a black woman. I wouldn't vote for a woman for president no matter what. I am a woman and I full well realize that women bear sons who have to go to war and that disturbs me since no mother wants her son in harm's way but sometimes that is unavoidable. That is especially true in the war on terror when we don't know what ugly Islamic radical might do next. For me, terrorism is the dominant issue. Go McCain!
