Kennedy Endorsement Signals Shift
The sands have shifted yet again in the race for the Democratic nomination for president. After a landslide victory in South Carolina, Barack Obama is now being embraced by that dynastic family of party politics that preceded the current one. Three prominent members of the Kennedy family--Caroline, Patrick, and Ted--have decided they've had enough of the Clintons. As Political Machine's Dave Stacy reported earlier, even an impassioned series of phone calls from Bill weren't enough to keep Ted from throwing his support to the new kid on the block. Yes, the old guard, too, seems to crave something new. But will it really matter that the most recognizable (and reviled in Republican circles) face in the Senate has broken from the once-presumptive front-runner in favor of a man whose style hearkens back to his brothers'?
Political Machine contributor, and Time magazine columnist Mark Halperin seems to think it will. Here's his handy list as to why. Of the items on Halperin's top-six reasons, number four rang the most true:
4. It sends a message to other senators and superdelegates that it is OK to be for Obama--they don't have to be afraid of the Clintons.
What has really turned off many in the party is the way Hillary has run her campaign. By utilizing a former president as a Rovian attack dog, the presidential brand has been bandied about like a cheap political plaything. In signing agreements committing Clinton to the decision of the DNC to unseat delegates from Michigan and Florida only to turn around and make a power grab for them, Hillary has signaled that she'll do anything to win. By all accounts, these calculated decisions by Camp Clinton have turned more than a few Democrats away from Hillary. Like Ted Kennedy, many party faithful have simply lost interest in the Bill and Hill show.
To be fair, however, three of Bobby Kennedy's 9 surviving children have endorsed Hillary.

I don't think it is appropriate to post JFK's brother's endorsement and that of Caroline without posting the endorsement of JFK's other THREE children, who all support Hillary Clinton!
Take a look at the following:
http://www.hillaryclinton.com/news/release/view/?id=5531
Bobby, Kerry, and Kathleen Kennedy have all come forward to endorse Hillary. Let's have equality in the media!!

Mark,
Excellent point. I've amended the post to include the Kennedy's who support Hillary. Thanks for the link.

Yes, indeed tired of the Bill and Hill show. A "show" it is, and a tired reminder of politics at its worst in our country. Let's try something new even if it is as lame as Ron Paul!!!!!!!

I am proud to be an Obama supporter. It is illegaal for a two term president to run for the same office again. The Clinton campaign borders on doing just that. Hillary has been doing just fine on her own. Who needs Bill?

Ted and Caroline should be ashamed of themselves.I hope that they are ready for more 9 elevens. For my gut feeling is that the terrorist that claim to be Islam will think that Obama gives them an open door on us. This is serious business. We need to quit beleiving their lies. They act like they can go in and just do all they claim they are going to do. They can't do nothing except ruin everything they touch. We don't need change thats the problem to much bad change has already occured. We really need a roll back on a lot of things. Stop and think about what could happen with Obama. watch all of them's body language instead of their lies and you will get an entirely different picture.

You kind of have to feel sorry for Hillary. She was discouraged by her Party (probably including Ted Kennedy) about running last term against Bush...the logic was it would look bad because she was only a one-term Senator. She maybe could have won last time or at least made a good showing and built momentum for this time.
Now look what comes along, a one-term Senator who thinks he can be president.
Of course his skin is dark which apparently makes all the difference in the world. He is about as African-American as Hillary. His father was African, not American. The only example of racism he can pull out of his hat is being mistaken for a waiter when he was a young state senator (never mind that he was probably the youngest person in the room and maybe that is what the one person noticed).
Oh well, you are making your bed folks, just remember you have to sleep in it.
I think the blogger probably sums it up when he says "Like Ted Kennedy, many party faithful have simply lost interest in the Bill and Hill show". They simply waited too long to make their comeback and the public has forgotten the great performances and just remembers the tabloid scandals. Well folks, that's show biz...and politics!

What blows my mind the most about women voters is that they are "picking" Mrs. Clinton to death!! whether it is clothing, shoes, thick thighs, etc. they tend to act like cats.
Maybe some people will be like me. At first I was undecided about who to back. After seeing, hearing some things regarding Mr. Obama (and I hope Jesse Jackson is not the top of his confidant's list), I have made up my mind to back Mrs. Clinton.
jenn10:56AMJan 28th 2008
for the people who are implying that Ted Kennedy's endorsement is going to hurt Obama is crazy! Seriously then you really don't know how respected Ted Kennedy is. That's why his endorsement was sought after by all.
jenn10:56AMJan 28th 2008
JFK has ONLY ONE SURVIVING CHILD AND THAT IS CAROLINE...so Mark get your facts straight. I believe it was two children from Robert Kennedy that support Hillary. Be very careful when you say John F. Kennedy. I believe Caroline Kennedy and Ted Kennedy know John F. Kennedy the best. Ted Kennedy is highly respected in the Democratic Party. Caroline Kennedy has never endorsed a President before. Robert Kennedy's children can't really speak for JFK. As far as children only Caroline can speak for her father!!!!

What is wrong with everybody!! Is the whole country going nuts? We need someone in the white house that will protect us and serve the people with no prejudice at all, I'm scared and I don't think I'm the only one. I know that Obama is black, ok now what is he going to to turn this country around to a more secure and properous America. I want my grandchildren to have what I had. Can Obama do this!!!
Help!!!

I am a proud female that is not black...which race shouldn't matter. I'm sick of people pointing out Obama's color, first off he's mixed...he's part white. I wil NOT vote for Hillary just because she's a female. She has lost her voice due to Bill Clinton.

Americans...and now it seems the Kennedy's...are tired of the attack style misleading campaign the Clinton's area leading. Besides...who's running for President...Hillary or Bill (squared). Time for a new face, a new vision, and a new tone.
Senator Barack Obama....for President.

I CARE ABOUT THE DISABLED, THE POOR, THE MIDDLE CLASS AND THE DEFEATED EVERYWHERE. PLEASE, PEOPLE, STOP BASHING ONE ANOTHER AND LET US KNOW SPECIFICALLY HOW THE ISSUES WILL BE ADDRESSED. JEAN, PLEASE, APOLOGIZE TO JEWEL KISSER. THE KIND OF IGNORANCE YOU DISPLAYED TO ANOTHER HUMAN BEING IS THE ROOT OF MISUNDERSTANDINGS.

Bill and Hill are running birddog scared and like I said before Bill is trying to make up to Hill for how he totally embarassed her while being in the White House before not just the Nation but the World. And the sad part about this twist is IT JUST AIN'T WORKING OKAY. And if she needs all his support just to GET IN, then what will she need to stay in okay. She had better hope and pray that he doesn't keel over and die while she is in office or else the United States of America is in a GREAT BIG PICKLE. MAYBE EVEN A WORSE ONE THAN WE ARE RIGHT NOW WITH THAT GOOD OLE TEXAN MR. g. bush.

That's the woman in hill, when the going gets tough she calls on her husband and a few more responsible wealthy to help her. Oh she thinks because she is one of the feminine wealthy that all hands are there for her to grasp out to and get immedidate assistance, but this one wealthy family who not only knows the polical game and most definitely how it is played, is tired of the same oh same oh too. A CHANGE IN THE WHITE HOUSE BELIEVE ME IS LONG OVERDUE. IT'S STALE, IT STINKS, AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WHO ARE FOR REAL HAVE HAD TOO MUCH OF IT SHOVED DOWN OUR THROATS FOR WAY TO LONG. EVEN GOD GETS TIRED SOMETIMES DON'T YOU WEALTHY REALIZE TAHT? THERE IS A FORK IN EVERY ROAD AND THERE IS A TIME TO CHANGE AND THE TIME IS NOW HILL AND BILL AND ALL THE OTHERS WHO WANT TO KEEP BUSINESS AS USUAL!

It seems as though the conservatives have only one thing to try to discredit Senator Obama; that he has no experience. Knowledge is beyond experience and Senator Obama has a thorough knowledge of the American political system, and the type of changes needed to bring forth the positive effect in most American lives.
If everything is based on experience, then your present leader has no experience at all. Take a good look at where this country is at. Wake up America.

What difference does it make what Kennedy endorse Barack Obama.
As for Hillary, I am ashamed for her. She really lost her voice.

Everyone is saying the same thing Bill Clinton is saying in a different way and it is ok. Senator Clyburne said it is racist...then he proceeds to say "this is the first time the blacks had the chance to vote, a 104 year old lady said thanks the lord because she got to vote for a black candidate" what is that? You twist Bill Clinton's words. He did not say so what? The other black guys won that state. I am getting sick of the media people. You keep trying to change peoples minds about Bill Clinton. I would vote for a clinton every four years until I died!!! And I know many people that feel the same way. Keep trying. It isn't working.
