Of course, "America's Mayor" long ago laid out his strategy for all to see. He would fore-go Iowa, New Hampshire, Wyoming, Nevada and South Carolina, waiting ever patiently for Florida. There he'd spring his electoral trap, snag a win, and be propelled into Super Tuesday with the proverbial wind at his back. The problem, of course, is that with their wins in the early contests McCain, Romney, and Huckabee came to dominate the airwaves. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the free press generated from a victory is more than even Mitt Romney's fortune can buy.
Another Republican also-ran, Fred Thompson, worked up a cagey strategy for victory. His grand design was to sit back and siphon as much free press as he could from his rivals tanks by playing coy about whether he'd ever even enter the race. In the process, he kept building up expectations. Hungry for a savior, Republican pundits watched Law & Order and dreamed of a Reagan-esque future. It wasn't to be. At his very first debate in October, Thompson proclaimed, after fumbling and freezing before the cameras, that he saw "no reason to believe that we're heading for an economic downturn." Gee, how did that turn out, I wonder?
If Rudy drops out today or tomorrow, we'll have a serious debate on our hands. Which man, Thompson or Giuliani, ran the poorer campaign? Vote now and history will forever record your choice for the man whose tactical blunders should never be repeated.

You Mc Cain followers out there in Florida should take pause today, since your state more than any other is responsible for giving us george bush. sure their was outside players, but none the less the craziness of the last seven years began in your state. Likewise your voting results today likely will determine the front runner in the republican race. Therefore lets review some of the facts. rudy guliani likes to promote himself as 'Mister 911'. Upon scrutiny it becomes clear that the mayor is up to his neck in unanswered questions. simple questions like why New York City did not insist on investigating the events of that day. People in high places chose to prevent fire officials, police departments and nummerous other city officials from doing their job. Mr mayor Sir, I don't know if you were that man, but you were the head of government in your city that day and justice was not served. I would never trust you to be president until events of that day are resolved. Senator Mc Cain likewise wants to be our president and is asking you people in Florida for your vote. I'm sure all of you voters can remember back to the 2000 elections in your state. My mind still recalls Rep. Mc Kinney whose distrct was ripe with voter fraud begging in the Senate for just one U.S. Sentator to support her request to investigate the theft of the votes of the people she represented.
Where was your voice that day Mr Mc Cain? And Sir, I know you stood up to bush on torture, but at the same time Habeas Corpus a pillar that supports our Republic passed away with hardly a mention. Compromise Sir is what has destroyed our basic freedoms. "the war", the partriot act, the military commitions act, patriot actll, these are the issues sir. Because of the Senate office you hold your actions (or inactions) have enabled george w bush to spiral out of control as he brings destruction to our country and world. Paul

Mitt Romney is the best man running. We would most fortunate having him as our president. His capabilities far exceed the politicians of the past. I am afraid we will soon be at war with Iran and elsewhere if warrior McCain is elected. -- Dr. Chartrand

I can understand the desire for an alternative, but RON PAUL is another Creationist from Texas, and he believes Lincoln was a bad president. (Excuse me?) Despite his opposition to the Iraq War, Mr. Paul doesn't seem like much of a valid "new direction" to me.
PS - Only people who didn't live in Masaschusetts under the ineffective absentee governor can possibly think that MITT ROMNEY is the most qualified candidate. Trust me, he's one big piece of gloss-over. If only he were more like his father.
I'll probably jump the GOP ship this time and vote for BARACK OBAMA. It's nice to remember what a leader sounds like.

Lover Boy Giuliani should just go somewhere and sit down. Who would want a president and first lady who have six marriages between them? Not me.

BESTOWING THE TITLE "WAR HERO" UPON JOHN McCAIN DOES A DIS-SERVICE TO ALL REAL HEROS SUCH AS DR.MARTIN LUTHER KING, GHANDI, JESUS, ROSA PARKS, AND THE MANY OTHER SELF-LESS REAL HEROS THAT HAD NO NEED TO CROW ABOUT THEIR "HERO STATUS", IS THIS ALL HE CAN BOAST OF?, AND HIS PEA-BRAIN MENTALITY UNDERSTANDS NOTHING OTHER THAN TO RATIONALISE IN A MILITARISTIC FRAME OF REFERENCE CENTERED AROUND HIS PERSONAL VISION OF HIS OWN "LEGEND", WE HAVE DEVOLVED SO MUCH THAT THIS KIND OF BLATHER ACTUALLY SWAYS MANY,GOD HELP US AS WE GO FORWARD(REALLY BACKWARDS)BECAUSE THE RIDE IS GOING TO GET A LOT ROUGHER AS THE VARIOUS WORLD ECONOMIES AND INSTITUTIONS MERGE TOWARDS A SUPER-WORLD GOVERNMENT,IN WHITCH THE INDIVIDUAL WILL DISAPPEAR AS ANYTHING OTHER THAN MEAT-BAGS THAT ONLY LIVE TO SERVE A GODLESS WORLD-STATE, SOMEWHAT AS ENVISIONED BY HUXLEY. I can't be the only one waiting for balance and competence to be restored to the federal government, can I?
The fact of the matter is it takes both private and public to run this country. And a plain accounting of the facts, without the spin. Anyone who's talking about Abe Lincoln being a bad president is obviously not up to the job in the 21st century. Also, you got a guy who's literally beating 9/11 over and over everyone's head. Has he ever mentioned anything else?
Mitt Romney and John McCain seem like logical choices, but I think the democrats and independents are going to beat the door down to make sure we're not getting another Bush.

I continue to support John Edwards. It is however, very sad to say that many people are not focusing on his vision for this country and the way he has outlined various ideas for economic programs, domestic policy, healthcare and foreign policy. He has also conducted himself with great dignity whenever Hillary and Barack were fighting like children during the various debates and constantly taking potshots at each other in the media.
I fear that John Edwards will soon drop out of the race and that is a loss for this country. He would have made a wonderful President. God help us if Hillary or John McCain get elected.

Ron Paul is the Man.
I love the way he loves our constitution. Others only destroy it to promote their self interests.
Don't throw your vote away on a no-good, self-serving, lesser of two evils candidate.
Vote to restore America back to greatness. Vote to restore the Constitution.
Randall11:03AMJan 30th 2008
Fred Thompson : If he would have came out sooner he would have been the man to beat. He can stan toe to toe with Hilary, and Bill as well. Obama has needs to back to the Senate. He is lacking so much. Remember, talk means cheap and hes a bunch of hot air. Ask yourself this where did he get his experience from? HE HAS NONE. hILARY HAS BEEN THE WIFE OF A PRESIDENT, She has had 16 years of public service. Give me Fred with his knowledge and forsight.Next in line for me is Mc Cain. Being a Dem. I vote the man not ticket. We don't need to take anymore crap. 911 was enough. we need to stand up and let other countries know we are a nation of fighters..

The "tactical decision by Guiliani to bypass the early states, Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina was made because he knew he couldn't ever win in the early states. He banked on Florida thinking many retirees from New York who now live in Florida would certainly vote for him. Well, they remember Rudy and don't like him either. What really finished Guiliani's chances of ever becoming the President of the USA are the following. The Bernie Kerik crook, who Rudy mentored, brought into NYC public life as Police Commissioner, became a partner with in business, and later recommended to the White House that he become Head of Homeland Security (while he was under investigation for crimes). Kerik was indicted this past Fall for corruption and fraud charges. Second disgrace that completely finished Guiliani's campaign hopes was the disclosure in November that he used NYC taxpayers money for security for his mistress, (of course while he was mayor and married) and used taxpayers money to pay for his security team's hotel and food bills for his weekend affair with his mistress in the Hamptons.
Guiliani then tried to hide these expenses in smaller agencies in NYC so no one would find out about what he was doing. Well, he got caught and the country found out about who he really is. His national lead dropped to third or fourth place by December, as the people in this country decided they don't want an arrogant sneak, cheat, crook and liar as President.
