Limbaugh: The Country is Doomed

Unless, of course, it comes to its senses quick and elects Mitt Romney the next president. Short of that, Rush would rather elect a Dumbocrat than a phony Republican. Why? Via the Washington Post:

"If I believe the country will suffer with either Hillary, Obama or McCain, I would just as soon the Democrats take the hit... rather than a Republican causing the debacle," he said. "And I would prefer not to have conservative Republicans in the Congress paralyzed by having to support, our party loyalty, a Republican president who is not conservative."

Note to Mr. Limbaugh: A Republican already has caused "the debacle." We already are suffering the effects of a failed presidency that has been enabled by conservative Congressional Republicans. But like 82% of Mitt Romney's supporters, Rush just refuses to see what more than 60% of all Americans believe.

The other aspect of Limbaugh's rhetoric which is so striking is that he'd rather the country suffer as much as possible over the next four or eight years so that a new crop of conservatives will benefit later. Hooray for the American spirit!
