Romney Steps Down. McCain Wins!
Mitt Romney is about to announce that he will "suspend his campaign," thus conceding his run for the Republican nomination.
John McCain now emerges as the Republican front-runner and prospective GOP nominee for the presidency. Whereas Super Tuesday has left the Democrats in a dead heat, it seems to have resolved the Republican contest. Mitt Romney's tepid showing has foreclosed his chances, and he is now admitting the inevitable.
Thus, the GOP field now consists of John McCain and Mike Huckabee, and the latter is statistically out of the running. I have assumed that Huckabee's role in the campaign since Iowa has simply been to denigrate and siphon votes from Romney, bolster McCain and posture himself for a potential Vice-President position in a McCain White House. Four to eight years from now, this would nicely set Huckabee for another presidential bid, with heightened visibility to combat a potential Romney rematch.

Although I have been very critical of Romney, he was realistically the GOP's best bet. But after the losses he has sustained in the primary, there is just no way statistically he can pull off the nomination.
Now no doubt McCain will now offer Huckabee the VP slot to get him out of the race.
McCain is one thing, but if the GOP signs on to Huckabee they are making a huge mistake. The GOP establishment despises Huckabee even more.

I think that now we must face the sad reality that John Mcain is going to be the nominee. With the only real conservative out of the race it might be time to suck it up and give the Democrats the White House for 4 years.That will allow the American people the chance to see that thier faultering support of President Bush was misguided. That will also give the Party a wake up and maybe then we can elect Romney to straighten it all out. God help us in the next 4 years, I fear they are going to be ugly.

MCCain is too old, all he knows is when he was a prisoner of war. No Modern thinking, just kill, kill, and keep that miserable war going. He should go back to bed, and stay there. His wife wears her hair like a 25 year old, and acts like one. He is a doddering old man, if he gets in, he will perhaps be more handicapped before his term is up.

McCain isn't just a Dem in disquise He's worse ! Look at his voting record. With Him as president we will lose ALL our rights ! I too am a Combat Veteran and Fought in Vietnam etc. People in My unit and division organizations are working nationwide to make sure McCain IS NOT our president at any cost ! Most will simply not vote for president many like me would rather vote for an Obama DEM then a McCain Rep. I Have never voted for a Dem for president, But this time I will ! Better the enemy you know then a quisling disguised as a Republican.
