Ron Paul for CONGRESS
Despite his financially successful grassroots presidential campaign, Rep. Ron Paul (R -TX) still has a day job and he's already indicated he wants to keep it. He doesn't want to completely give the presidential primary race up, but he's facing a Republican primary challenge in his home district - the 14th.
Our pals over at Wonkette had, by some strange chance (they must have been in a bar in Galveston), the opportunity to interview Paul's challenger, Galveston City Councilman Chris Peden. Peden thinks that he has a golden opportunity to steal this away from Dr. Paul, and says that their constituents want somebody around to attend ribbon cuttings and barbeques - something Paul is too high and mighty to do anymore - what with his $5 million and 21 delegates. Bastard!
Here's some excerpts from Wonkette's WORLD EXCLUSIVE, GROUNDBREAKING "interview with Texas Congressional District 14's last best hope for vanquishing the Paultards now and forever".
To most American political fanatics, Ron Paul is just a goofy hobbit whose hilariously doomed online presidential campaign provided standout entertainment in a year that offered a wealth of hilariously doomed campaigns.
But to many of his constituents in Texas Congressional District 14, Ron Paul is just a blame-America-first attention whore who completely ignores the people who put him in office. There are no Democrats running in the 14th District primary next Tuesday - so if Ron Paul loses, he will have the honor of being a double loser in the eyes of his beloved constituents. With this in mind, Wonkette enthusiastically endorses Chris Peden for Congress.
OOOOOhhhhh Snap, I didn't know they were endorsing here....
Future Congressman Peden on being Ron Paul's opponent:
He uses a quote from me on his own flyers because I said I admire him and think he's a man that sticks to his principles. I don't agree with his principles, but I think he sticks with them. I don't think he does a good job of being a legislator.
Future Congressman Peden on the nuttiness of Ron Paul supporters:
They hate me. And they've been very vociferous with their hate. We did have some threats at our house, and our younger two boys, we relocated those to my parents' house for safety reasons because you just never know. This is a crazy world. [...]
(Those??? He refers to his kids as "those")
Future Congressman Peden on his qualifications for Congress:
If delivering a baby is a prerequisite, then I still meet it. I have four children, and I delivered my third son. So I guess I am just as qualified to be a congressman as Ron Paul.
All you Paultards (and I know you're here now - we've missed you) - I have a couple of questions. What happens with presidential campaign cash? Where does it go? Also, can he get the blimp back to use for his congressional primary? I think it would look great hanging over Galveston Bay. Thank you for your time and godspeed.

People use ridicule and name-calling when they have no real arguments.
Thus, you "bloggers" have always proven that Ron Paul is right -- and you have no real arguments.

I almost thought Ms. Williams was going to write a real blog, but then I guess her drugs kicked in.
Stay off the pipe honey, there's no future in it.

More snide, dismissive crap from a low level foot soldier in the arch-liberal Time Warner opinion factory. Who is more psycho, a supporter of Ron Paul, an obamaniac (Oh, yes! mmhmm! Tell it like it IS Barack! Yeah honey! Praise da LAWD! Black at LAST!) or a bunch of arrogant leftist media types who believe they can spin Obama into the white house with a plethora of photos chosen specifically to make him look "presidential" while choosing pictures which make Hilary look like a buffoon? Of course, it's the last.. It's hard to beat delusions of grandeur overlaid with the same sort of suicidally misplaced loyalties evinced by a Jewish supporter of NSDAP, circa 1938.

ms. williams, your "article" was complete garbage. you have no concept of what is happening in this country, but i would not expect it from someone like you. "snap"... yeah, you're qualified to write articles.

Ron Paul has the only economic package that makes sense. The only foreign policy that we can afford. An immigration plan that doesn’t include Amnesty.
Ron Paul a man with honesty, Integrity, a constitutionalist and Libertarian.
Bush2 ran on a conservative platform, increased the size and scope of government and doubled the deficit, doubled the budget. Devalued the dollar by 50% in 7 years. Bush and Congress has Stolen 50% of everything you own by Deflating the dollar. Passed Executive Orders giving himself and his fellow criminals Retroactive Immunity. He wouldn’t need Retroactive Immunity if he had not Broken Laws.
Wake up America This Is Important! Ron Paul for President!

You call yourself a journalist. Wishfull thinking. Your're a media whore

The funds for the presidential election are handled according to law, and can only be used for the presidential election. So what's your question?
Dr. Paul is against the war in Iraq, and has backed that up with his vote.
Dr. Paul has never voted to raise taxes.
Dr. Paul supports Veterans, and backs that up with his votes.
Dr. Paul believes in supporting the law of the Constitution, and votes that way.
Dr. Ron Paul is and always shown his desire to put this country back on track financially by exposing the Federal Reserve and the IRS for their illegal actions.
He has never voted to give himself a raise.
I wonder which one of these issues the author is upset with.

Ms.Williams post was very unprofessional. AOL must be on a very strict budget. Certainly times aren't so bad they can't afford a real journalist.

The worst journalism yet on the subject...Snap? WTF ever...If you didn't learn in creative writing that you should stay away from cliche's you didn't learn an thing. Your writing shows a Middle School level of understanding...
Ron Paul all the way baby!!!
SNAP!

OK, I'm not a Ron Paul voter. I have problems with his supporters, but I learned some things from his campaign.
The financial markets and our basic economic structure are a complete fantasy. Hell, we've always suspected that but i never had enough interest to care or know any of the details.
Somebody who is very essentially conservative can make a better case for ending the war on drugs and this ridiculous prohibition on marijuana than my hippie friends can any day.
Hey, Peace is Patriotic! Not just because it is nice to be nice and we are all brothers and sisters but because it makes absolutely logical sense. War, it turns out, is actually bad for business. Who knew?
The last thing I can think to mention that I learned is that I like Ron Paul. I wish he lived down the street and came over for BBQ & a couple of beers on a regular basis. He's a nice guy. Maybe too nice for politics. The kind of guy you'd love to have as the family doc. The kind of guy you don't mind hovering over your wifes genitals. The kind of guy you'd trust the life of your new born to.
I'd say I learned a lot from Dr.Paul.

Rereading this article, Denise, jeeze. It's really mean.
Joel4:07AMFeb 28th 2008
You're right. There is a very good chance that Ron Paul will not win this election. It is certain that of the remaining candidates all but one will fail.
Yet when this election is over, when the confetti is swept away and speeches made in January are long forgotten, what will remain of the other candidate's supporters?
You see, Ron Paul has sparked more than a simple presidential campaign. He has awoken a level of patriotism in Americans not seen for a long time. In telling the truth about our nation, people have woken up to the devaluation of our dollar, the reality behind the Federal Reserve, the horrors of our policy of nation building. A Revolution has begun of which Ron Paul is only a small part. This revolution spans the globe, and grows every day.
It can not be stopped. When this election is over, the losers will be forgotten - no more important than Stephen A. Douglas or William H. Crawford. Yet history will remember the change brought about in American politics, and the man who dared to run for the Presidency by telling the truth.

Thanks all for your comments. As much as I'd love to take credit for all the snarky words in this post, I cannot. You see, I quoted other people. When you see those letters slanted to the right like that, it means a quote. Just for future reference.
truehobbitinside7:20AMFeb 28th 2008
you know I wouldn't mind articles about ron paul that are so freakin slanted, IF there were positive ones to accompany it. that's where it's get's messed up. I see positive articles for all the other candidates but not one of you "journalists" wants to write a positive review of Dr. Paul. maybe it's cause you didn't actually read up on the candidates, where they stand, watch how they debate, the points of their debate and so on. I don't know. but I do know that any real patriotic american that has been disgusted with where our country has gone and is going, would support Dr. Paul.

Ms. Williams, Please re-read your own blog.
The last paragraph is clearly your writing and not a quote.

There really should be no question about Ron Paul keeping his day job as Congressman. I see no problem for him to run not only for President but also for re-election for his Congressional seat. I am not from his district. But, if I were living there, I would still vote for him. If he should end up as President or Vice President and still wins re-election of his House seat, he may resign as House member and the district can have a special election to replace him. In the meantime, if you voters there are not sure what to do, check his Congressional Records. If you are satisfied or think he is doing a good job then vote for him for both President as well as re-elect him back to his old House seat. If he loses in the Presidential election and does not become Vice President at least you still have a great guy representing you in Congress. I see it as a win win win situation.

Dear Denise Williams,
Since you're actually posting comments on your own blog, I was wondering what qualifies someone as a Paultard? How is that Dollar working out for you on that record low? Would you feel like "Retard" if you knew most of us traded dollars for Euros and bought gold 7 years ago when it was 150 an oz?
How does the Federal Reserve Work? What does doubling the MZM Money Supply do? Explain what the Fed Chairman meant yesterday when he said it's not a Perfect Relationship? By the way, where does all that Income Tax money go? Does it pay for Gov Services?
Sincerely,
John Q.

Where does all the cash go after a campaign is over? I guess it's going to go to the same place as Romneys, Edwards, et al. goes.
Acutally you would not miss the Paultards so much if you got off your lazy asses and wrote anything about him every once in a while.
Once and for all to all the aol political machine bloggers. Have you SEEN Michelle Obama? Do you think you are going to get anywhere near Barack Obama's crotchage? It ain't gonna happen girls and bois and gurls...no matter how many hateful, rude, crude, ridiculous pieces you write about the other candidates and no matter how much you suck (in your dreams) up to Obama. Besides, the crotch could be the white half for all you know.
