Ron Paul for CONGRESS
Despite his financially successful grassroots presidential campaign, Rep. Ron Paul (R -TX) still has a day job and he's already indicated he wants to keep it. He doesn't want to completely give the presidential primary race up, but he's facing a Republican primary challenge in his home district - the 14th.
Our pals over at Wonkette had, by some strange chance (they must have been in a bar in Galveston), the opportunity to interview Paul's challenger, Galveston City Councilman Chris Peden. Peden thinks that he has a golden opportunity to steal this away from Dr. Paul, and says that their constituents want somebody around to attend ribbon cuttings and barbeques - something Paul is too high and mighty to do anymore - what with his $5 million and 21 delegates. Bastard!
Here's some excerpts from Wonkette's WORLD EXCLUSIVE, GROUNDBREAKING "interview with Texas Congressional District 14's last best hope for vanquishing the Paultards now and forever".
To most American political fanatics, Ron Paul is just a goofy hobbit whose hilariously doomed online presidential campaign provided standout entertainment in a year that offered a wealth of hilariously doomed campaigns.
But to many of his constituents in Texas Congressional District 14, Ron Paul is just a blame-America-first attention whore who completely ignores the people who put him in office. There are no Democrats running in the 14th District primary next Tuesday - so if Ron Paul loses, he will have the honor of being a double loser in the eyes of his beloved constituents. With this in mind, Wonkette enthusiastically endorses Chris Peden for Congress.
OOOOOhhhhh Snap, I didn't know they were endorsing here....
Future Congressman Peden on being Ron Paul's opponent:
He uses a quote from me on his own flyers because I said I admire him and think he's a man that sticks to his principles. I don't agree with his principles, but I think he sticks with them. I don't think he does a good job of being a legislator.
Future Congressman Peden on the nuttiness of Ron Paul supporters:
They hate me. And they've been very vociferous with their hate. We did have some threats at our house, and our younger two boys, we relocated those to my parents' house for safety reasons because you just never know. This is a crazy world. [...]
(Those??? He refers to his kids as "those")
Future Congressman Peden on his qualifications for Congress:
If delivering a baby is a prerequisite, then I still meet it. I have four children, and I delivered my third son. So I guess I am just as qualified to be a congressman as Ron Paul.
All you Paultards (and I know you're here now - we've missed you) - I have a couple of questions. What happens with presidential campaign cash? Where does it go? Also, can he get the blimp back to use for his congressional primary? I think it would look great hanging over Galveston Bay. Thank you for your time and godspeed.

I think that such an inept and personally insulting attack on McCain, Obama or Clinton would be met with outrage. I suppose the message we are supposed to draw is that it's fine to lash out at an underdog in the interest of 'balanced' reporting, huh?
Jennifer11:44AMFeb 28th 2008
What successful grassroots campaign? Didn't seem very successful to me except here on AOL. Sorry I know the Paulites are sensative.
Davidg11:49AMFeb 28th 2008
I just heard the Obama campaign was going to have a blimp too.
I heard it was going to be very long and black and it will stay up for hours and hours. I hear that most women and quite a few men too get very, very excited when they see it.
(Hey it's no sillier than the original blog. Why do we bother to even make serious comments when the news writers who are presumably being paid, don't even try to do anything but have a daily Obama lovefest and daily every other candidate snarkfest? Let's take our comments as seriously as the political machine writers take their profession)

Denise your blogs are awful and you and all your communist views should be put to rest. You don't deserve to vote. BTW, the last quote was your own writing so please stop making yourself look stupid.

Ah,Denise. The next paragraph will be your own words. This is indicated by the use of quotation marks, the two little inverted commas hanging there above the beginning and the end of the paragraph.

I would be surprised and saddened to see wonkette go as snide and snarky. You refined the original and added a kicker of straight smug sarcasm.

Ms. Williams, did you graduate high school? We know that those idiots at wonkette are still in high school and some probably haven't even finished middle school yet, but how about you? Your non)story is so juvenile. Grow up!!!

Hey Ron Pauls m'man. He is the only candid looking for real CHANGE. He knows our country needs a root canal and not a cosmetic change such as what the others are offering a "tooth filling"

Hi David! This isn't a news article but I've gone after Denise some about this one too. Do we have to go on with the racial jokes? Yours was pretty innocent but it just tends to lump you together with the assholes we see posting all the time. The dialog needs to get a little more polite. How far can it escalate. ya know? At some point it all becomes ridiculous.

why don't we just make millions of copies of "freedom to fascism" and give them to everyone we can--screw the major media, they have lied, twisted, covered the truth to save their own asses for so long ... it's now considered a prerequisite for the job of "journalist" or "investigative reporter". i have seen only three documentaries on the "major" candidates:Clinton, Obama, and Mclain, where are the rest? like Ron Paul, Ralph and others? why don't they get time on the tube?---it's because the truth hurts the large media/political machine!

Well at least we tried to help this Great country, can you say that?Ron Pauls supporters are the most informed and are aware of the problems we face today.
I have met many, and they understand the hard truth that many are blinded from.WE tried to stop our country from being sold out! Dr. Ron Paul has opened the eyes of many. The corporate media can not stop this, even with their black listing.
The same thing that destroyed Rome,To much corruption people in power wanting to look out for themselves, instead should be looking out for our freedom and country.Corruption and evil the love of money and power will destroy us.They have got their priorities wrong. They will have to answer for their actions one day.Freedom and peace to all, even to the writers and sheep that not know what they do.

Future congressman? LOL Future loser of a congressional race.
You guys wouldn't know the constitution if George Washington rose from the grave and beat you in the head with it.
Your ad hominem attacks and arguments from intimidation show your weak logic. Did I say weak? I may have overestimated you.
Psylvester203:57PMMar 3rd 2008
"Paultards"? Ron Paul supporters read up on the issues. We understand the Constitution. We know that thousands of young men and women have died in a needless war, based on a lie. We understand fiscal responsibility, and know that there's no such thing as a free lunch. So just remember this: Four years from now, when we still have troops in Iraq, when you still don't have free healthcare, and when our jobs are still going overseas, WE TOLD YOU SO!!! Of course, you're probably so stupid that you won't remember for whom you voted or even why you voted for them. Sheep aren't the most intelligent animals and they have very short memories.

Ron Paul who?? Not even close. Him as President?? Are you kidding????????
Tom Martin2:05PMMar 4th 2008
The main stream must love their cheap money and immoral wars - cause we have both.
Sound money (any one see the price of Gold or Silver lately?) and restore the Constitution.
GO Ron Paul!

Wow, Is she serious? I am not exactly a Ron Paul fan( I don't know much about him but will soon) but Denise Williams does a terrible job of getting her point accross. Honestly, when I see slander like that it makes me want to join the Ron Paul Brigade. You called the man an incompetent, BASTARD drunk and then try to hide behind quotes. Next time try to write about some truths or at least something you have an ounce of proof to back up. This was the first and last time I ever waste my time reading an article having anything to do with Denise "wannabe Media WHORE" Williams. OOOOOOHHHHH SNNAAAPP I use lame outdated catch phrases too.

FreedomFest 2008 - Ron Paul has just been confirmed as a speaker and he will join our 100 plus speakers and 1,000 plus attendees in Las Vegas on July 10 -12 at Freedomfest 2008. We must continue the campaign to promote the Ron Paul Revolution of liberty, a return to limited constitutional government and free markets to the American public.

I've given Ron Paul several hundred dollars this year, and I don't care what he does with it. He can use it for his congressional race or take his wife out to dinner. He's the best man in the race and a truly great American. It's sad to think that we'll probably have to settle once again for the lesser of two evils instead of being able to elect an honest man like Ron Paul.
I hope Peden gets trounced.
