Farewell, Ron Paul
Mar 6th 2008 9:31PM
Filed Under:eRepublicans, Breaking News, Ron Paul, 2008 President
In a web video to be posted on Paul's website he will tell supporters he is winding down his campaign, which had already taken a back seat in recent weeks to his simultaneous bid for reelection to his Congressional seat.
Ah well. The man who sat atop the AOL Straw Poll all those weeks--but who couldn't consistently earn a percentage of the votes above the single digits in non-internet contests--certainly gave us an interesting ride. Here are a few of the YouTube moments gave rise to an unlikely movement.

I love you Ron Paul. I will stand behind you. I will still vote for you in the elections! You give me hope!

OMG. My heart literally skipped a beat when I saw the word FAREWELL...for a moment I thought that he had passed.;o( Guess it's the nurse in me to think that way. Should've said R.I.P., maybe. Dr.Paul made a hell of alot more sense than his ultra-conservative far-right wing evolution-disbelieving opponents, as well as with his unique libertarian views.

He did not say he was quitting the race. He said he is winding down. From what I've heard he will continue on till the end, however he is focusing on garnering support for the issues beyond a presidential nomination. Perhaps you should turn your focus to predicting weather, you're making some jumps.

THERE WERE 8 YEARS OF GREAT ECONOMY DURING THE CLINTON YEARS.
I'M TIRED OF HIGH GAS PRICES AND A SINKING ECONOMY.
HILLARY IS A GOOD, DEDICATED AND HARDWORKING PERSON WHO CAN TURN IT AROUND.
SHE CARES ABOUT THE COUNTRY AND ALL OF US.
VOTE HER IN, LET HER WORK.
AND WATCH IT HAPPEN.
WE WILL ALL BE BETTER OFF.

Thank Goodness, this election is going to be so much easier without that pesky Paul going on and on...constitution this...fiscal responsibility that....blah blah.
Now we can just all paint pictures of Barack Obama on the sides of buildings just like they do with Fidel in Cuba!

It is about time...The PEOPLE have spoken. He can bring his agenda all he wants, but the people pretty much told him what they think of his agenda. The RNC will have nothing to do with him nor would the
DNC. He is done, he can take pleasure that he ran for the office of President, his supporters can take pleasure that they did their bit in politics and it can go on. We need a strong 3rd Party candidate..Mr. Paul is not
that candidate.

I'll tell you who cares: Anyone that thinks the Constitution means what it says; anyone that thinks freedom is the most important ideal we can uphold in this country (yes, even if that means lives are lost--what better way to die than fighting for freedom); anyone that's sick of watching politicians raise our taxes to pay off their friends and political contributors; anyone that's tired of having a gun pointed at their head to bail out people who make rotten decisions; anyone that would like to have a president with personal and political integrity instead of pandering to every whiny special interest that can muster up a few thousand votes in exchange for a giveaway of OUR money. Idiot.

Sad, Ron Paul a man of integrity. Not a bought and sold politician.
Forget your party affiliation. This was a good man.
Today, honesty and integrity mean nothing to voters.
Steve4:00PMMar 7th 2008
If Ron Paul gives up, it will sadden me as a disaffected, registered republican. Maybe it should be seen as a commentary for the modern republican party. Ron Paul was their only hope to turn around their new reputation of doing whatever it takes to win, as long as it will slip by our legal system".
Bill4:05PMMar 7th 2008
Sorry the people did not stand behind a good and smart man.
Dayna4:08PMMar 7th 2008
He has My vote, and I know, personally 106 people who agree...just think, if My hundred people know 100 people who know 100 people and so on....

He suffered corrupt "media" blackout when he indicated that it was wrong to keep ISRAEL financially dependent on the u.S.ofA. ("u" from the Declaration of Independence original text.)
.
What does that tell you?
Brickhouse4:46PMMar 7th 2008
This is not the end, but rather, the beginning of the Freedom Movement. The money earned will be used to expand and grow the movement throughout the United States to prepare for the 2012 election when the citizens of the great nation realized that they have been fleeced by the media one too many times.
The revolution is here to stay and day-by-day individuals are being awakened to the truth. Mark my words, the economy will crumble and this next elected President will do nothing different than President Bush. The middle class will become destabilized and driven into poverty and desperation. At that time the revolution will change it's course and a the middle classes struggle will ensue.
Brickhouse4:47PMMar 7th 2008
I think well all know the answer to that one Lon.

DAVID KNOWLES NOTHING!
Del5:12PMMar 7th 2008
He's a real American hero. He's almost the only candidate who puts his country's welfare ahead of Israel's.
