Update: Clinton 'Possibly Misspoke' on Bosnia
Hillary Clinton has been regaling supporters on the campaign trail with hair-raising tales of a trip she made to Bosnia in March 1996. In her retelling, she was sent to places that her husband, President Bill Clinton, could not go because they were "too dangerous." When her account was challenged by one of her traveling companions, the comedian Sinbad, she upped the ante and injected even more drama into the story. In a speech earlier this week, she talked about "landing under sniper fire" and running for safety with "our heads down."
There are numerous problems with Clinton's version of events.

Update: On today's conference call, Clinton chief strategist Howard Wolfson responded to a question specifically about the sniper fire and welcome ceremony, first by copping to a "scaled-back event" upon landing, and when pressed, by saying that Senator Clinton "possibly might have misspoken at an event last week." <

This issue has the kinds of details that stand out in people's minds. Just the absurdity of a war of words with Sinbad makes it indelible. Rather than cop to a possible fuzzy memory, the Clinton campaign, responding t the question at a conference call, responded to the Post story by standing by Hillary's account.
If Hillary is the nominee, expect McCain or some 527 group to run a split screen of McCain limping off the transport that carried him back from the Hanoi Hilton, next to that Bosnian meet-n-greet.
Update: Obama spokesman responds, via email:
"Senator Clinton said that a planned welcoming ceremony was cancelled because they needed to avoid sniper fire, but news footage shows that she was met by a small child who read her a poem. Contrary to the latest spin from the Clinton campaign, when you make a false claim that's in your prepared remarks, it's not misspeaking, it's misleading, and it's part of a troubling pattern of Senator Clinton inflating her foreign policy experience," said Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor.

Hey, she wasn't lying, she said that "...we came in in a evasive maneuver...". That is correct, but for a minor detail. It was not Bosnia that she came in in an evasive maneuver, it was Pennsylvania and you can see the evasive maneuver; it is available on the above video.

Hillary did not misspeak...she lied to just to make people think she has experience. She and Obama lie. You can't spend 20 years in a church and not have the will of the preacher instilled in you.

She had tears in her eyes in N.H.did she have tears for the ruined lives in travelgate, I don't think so. The Grand Jury testimony she gave, do you think she misspoke there? This is a lady that does not belong in the White House. Lets see, if she were to get elected, do you think all the things that went missing after they left the office, will return.

That Hillary would choose to tell this outrageous lie about Bosnia should make every veteran and their families cringe. Any veteran of Iraq, Afghanistan, Grenada, Panama, or Viet Nam can attest that you never forget what being under sniper fire is like. You may forget the date, you may forget the time BUT, you never get the details wrong. Missspeak? Bold faced lie! A picture is worth a thousand words. Hillary, Chelsea and an 8 year old at a poetry reading. WHAT ELSE HAS SHE OR WILL SHE LIE ABOUT? With a rabid dog like James Carville and back-peddling expert like Harold Wolfson. the next one will be a whopper. How does it go? Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice shame on me. Hillary is up to three: Bosnia, Northern Ireland, and Macedonia in just the past week or so. How can you believe anything that comes out of her mouth.

Hillary did not misspeak-she thought she couls get away with lying about her trip to Bosnia-it has been proven that both she and her husband "Billy bob" are very astute liars. I think that she and her staff will do just about anything to get her the nomination.

Hillary lied! What's with the spinning, stop it! Worse, is Chelsea Clinton never corrected her mother's lying. She sits idly by and listens to the lie, over and over and over in the speeches. She was there, she knows her mother is lying. Like mother, like daughter.

Chelsea Clinton is now a clinton surrogate. She has enabled her mother to continue with the Bosnia lie. She has not reminded her mother that she is not telling the truth. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I consider the whole clinton family a pack of liers now. Even the daughter!

It is not uncommon for a person to consolidate memories from several events into one event......these are called screen memories, and all humans have a propensity to do this unintentionally......in direct proportion to the time elapsed. Most of us who recall childhood events will lump several events into one day's memories....even though they occured as separate events on separate days. We recall the things that impacted us the most, and the rest fades into the background.
While it is possible that she intentionally exagerated, it is also possible that this is the way she remembers it, a scary moment in a war-torn country. The point is.....she was there. Whe visited our troops, when most of us would have avoided the risk. Where was obama?

HILLARY reminds me of when I was growing up.Most boy's when growing up weather there in a fight or lifting weights make the story bigger than it is,I guess it makes you feel more bigger more like a man.
Most guys grow up and don't embelish unless you go fishing of course.
The Dems do not have much to offer this time around.

Actually their was a guy on fox news this morning, that said that she could have misspoken because he
and Mrs. Clinton among many others, were in a palace in Bagdad during the Clinton administration that
when landing- the corkscrew landing and sniper fire was a fact! She may have confused the two, . .
When was Obama in Bagdad, or any other other important world event? uhhhh. . . .never because he has no experiance at all! Plus, if you want to call someone a liar you might want to re-check the clips
of Obama, one day saying he was never in the church when Rev. Wright spoke his hate for America, and
then in his "wonderful" speech, he said he was. Who's character should we be questioning here?
