Does Hillary Have Pastor Issues Too?

winning team. In politics, when one candidate is under fire, the temptation to find an equivalent issue with which to flog the opponent is irresistible, and often desirable for the beleaguered one. The Atlantic's Joshua Green thinks he has found the Sonny to Reverend Jeremiah Wright's Cher:Since Hillary Clinton has launched a frontal attack on her opponent's church and pastor, it's worth noting that she has some odd religious ties of her own. When I was profiling her two years ago, I learned about her involvement with a secretive Christian organization called The Fellowship that has operated in the Washington shadows since the 1930s. I found the story of Clinton and The Fellowship so bizarre that I made it the lede to my piece. In light of recent events, it's worth revisiting.Yes, what about that gripping expose´? Go ahead and read it, all 27 letter-sized pages. It's OK, I can wait. After the jump, we can take a closer look at The Fellowship!!! (Play Ominous Movie Score in Your Head Now)
It was a pretty thorough piece, I'll give it that, but I would have appreciated knowing that the "Illuminati" stuff was confined to the first several pages. Beyond that, I thought there were a lot of coded sexist messages in there, like the comparison of her hairdo to her new image. OK, actually, not-so-coded.
As far as sounding a warning bell about Clinton's involvement in prayer breakfasts? That's about as sinister as her indebtedness to the Girl Scout Cookie lobby. The article actually makes it sound like a typically smart move by Hillary. Witness this passage, describing one of The Fellowship's meetings:
(Sam Brownback) confessed to having hated Clinton and having said derogatory things about her. Through God, he now recognized his sin. Then he turned to her and asked, "Mrs. Clinton, will you forgive me?" Clinton replied that she would, and that she appreciated the apology.Hardly the stuff of DaVinci codes or Lonelygirl15 offings. I dug a teensy bit deeper and found this interview with a journalist who had infiltrated The Family. I file it under, "Grab the tin-foil."
"It was an extraordinary moment," the member told me. This repentance fostered an unlikely relationship that has yielded political bounty. Clinton and Brownback went on to cosponsor one measure protecting refugees fleeing sexual abuse, and another to study the effects on children of violent video games and television shows. "That morning helped make our working relationship," Brownback told me recently. "It brought me close to someone I did not ever imagine I would become close to."
Since then, Clinton has teamed up on legislation with many members of the prayer group.
All of these pieces seem to have in common a fundamental mistrust of religion. I have no problem with that, but you've got to have more than inferences.
Of course, in my view, this does make it on a par with Obama's Reverend Wright affair, since neither is really remarkable in any way. I thought that JFK had disabused us of the notion that religious leaders exercise some sort of Manchurian control over their subjects.
Will this story have any traction? Even this election season's story-hungry press might have to pass this morsel up.

To Whom This May Concern:
I have been a democrat for over 10 years. I am a minority in 2 ways. Did I ever think the odds were stacked against me, no? I was raised to be a person and respect other people, not for their race, gender, etc. I chose my mentors carefully, and took opportunities when I had them. I embrace History, if it were not for the History of this Country I would not be where I am today. I did not say I approved of all History in the past, but the fact is History has me where I am today. If anyone was ever racist toward me in my lifetime, I was unaware. I have always had respect from people in this Country.
In the beginning of this race I was all for Obama, he is very intelligent and articulate. I went to church and was taught the same thing, respect people, mostly God and the Bible. Politics was never an issue in church, this saddens me people think politics belong in Church. During the course of this race I researched and have come to the conclusion that the DNC is letting voter’s rights be dismissed. Hillary is the best candidate for myself. If the DNC does not seat the FL/MI delegates and Hillary loses the nomination for Democrat Nominee, I will be changing to an Independent Voter. I respect both candidates and will hold true to my Presidential Democratic Nominee, whomever that turns out to be. I will change to an Independent and other Democrats better fight hard to hold their seats. The media just keeps it going!

Since all of the righteous people who are so wanting to bury Obama because of his support of Rev Wright, I thought I'd see why Hillary has been so quiet during this controversy until recently. Well, she said that Rev Wright would not be her pastor but her former pastor is supporting him.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/03/25/pastor-of-clintons-forme_n_93418.html
But we all know the reason she's speaking up now is to deflect the recent lies she got caught telling. But it gets better because that's really not why she kept quiet. The real reason is she didn't want anyone asking about her religious beliefs and worship. Read this article and see why. You have to read the entire article to get all the connections.... Hitler is one of them. Hard to believe isn't it. So read, come back and post nasty things just like you did with Obama.

Bye Obama,
That really piss you off that Obama has so much attention and you're stuck on this site still bashing Obama and everyone else has realized that the media fed them a bunch of lies about Obama. Try listening to the entire sermons and you'll realize why?

Hillary is traumatized????? Are you kidding??? My ex cheated on me and I had the guts to leave regardless of the financial mess it left me in and the influential friends that dropped me. And no----it was not one time he cheated--it was several and I had enough respect for myself to leave. Hillary has not been an example for other women. She's been a coward all for the sake of her own political aspirations. She made the comment that she would have left Obama's church but she didn't leave the man that trashed her.

Theirs a pain a person goes through that seems more unreal than the certain idea of giving hope.
If one is able to survive the great stress of thought ,that go through the opposite will and come out ahead.
Than one is able to produce the advantage of being with in the boundaries of what the earth needs to survive.
This election is not just for the leader of the America.
It is for moving us all into a new thought process.
where one is able to live and breath the air of this planet earth.
Who has the drive and determination to step out away from this idea of using fear to touch ones thought. To use simple, logical terms of what needs to be taken hold of and handle.
Not that one is not more able than the other.
But that one is able to step beyond, move past one self. To use another thought process, to expand the realities of what needs to be met .
That one, needs to escape the usually, used words , options of the old tactics.
To create the drive, energy of minds, to combat without man made weapons.
with the confidence that they are being led to a new place.
That is more distant than what man thinks of the farthest star.
But is nearer than ones heart .
If we can expound the tenacity to escape, what one creates from a personal history trait.
That misjudges, uses off shaded light for an excuse of ones inability to see what stands before him, her.
Than our hope, to understand, where we are, will be diminished by a lost trust of worthless time.
We can see a different light of becoming a strong nation .
Its here now , waiting for one to lead us out from the place that is beyond one own life views.

Jennifer, I hereby grant you one fricking break. Seriously, though, what is your problem with this story? I don't get it.

Clinton Lemmings: Smile! This is your candidate.
THE LIE: Clinton recently claimed she was the first first lady to visit a war zone since Eleanor Roosevelt did it back in the 40's.
FACT: First Lady Nixon visited a war zone in 1969.
THE LIE: Clinton recently claimed she was the first high profile figure to visit Northern Ireland after the signing of the peace accords.
FACT: Secretary of Defense Perry and President Clinton visited Northern Ireland months before Hilary showed up.
THE LIE: One week after 9/11 Clinton claimed on national tv that Chelsea was at ground zero and heard the first plane hit world trade towers. Her goal was to win acceptance of the NY voters.
FACT: Chelsea was still bed when the planes hit and was awaken by a friends phone call to turn on the tv to see the attacks.
How can anyone support this woman and still have a soul????

All of your blogs are advertisements for Obama. Who can take you seriously, TC???
mrbline10:05PMMar 26th 2008
Mr. Christopher,
I had a chance to browse through the story you referenced, and it definately had conspiracy theory written all over it. Another short piece, however, though not a potential sci-fi channel b-flick, is worth looking at. It is a quote from Hillary Clinton's Pastor praising Jeremiah Wright, full well knowing of his occasional inflammatory remarks.
If what was presented there is accurate, do we have yet another airport moment? In saying she would dump Wright, would she dump her pastor who supports him?
Not nearly as fun as watching someone try to turn Hillary into some sort of Bond villain, but the angle might give you guys-n-gals in the press some more mileage to fill the 6 week void.

Debra S.,
I don't get it. How is debunking a potential smear against Hillary an advertisement for Obama? Thanks for reading, anyway.
tom10:35PMMar 26th 2008
IF one actually studies Obama
One can see what are lies
and what are not lies
Most of the objections
to Obama as a president
are fabbricated lies
So those comments derived from lies
are meaningless
except to show us that we
have a problem with hatred

Obama is not a disciple of a cult, where the leader word is law and disciples follow him robotically. His faith community is greater than the pastor. Does Pastor Wright get credit for the thousands of poor people that are and have been fed, clothed and educated by the community? Obama probably chose this church because it was the most active in promoting the social gospel: recognized the fundamental option for the poor.
Hillary, take the plank out of your own eye before you complain about the splinter in your brother’s eye – Bill have had a whole sting of mistresses (Jennifer Flowers etc.) and sexual escapades (Monika L, etc.) and yet you seem rather accepting of this. WHY DID YOU STAY? OBSESSED WITH POWER?
You put up with all of Bill’s crap and humiliations for so long and for “this moment (the presidency)”and now Obama
is about to “steal” it from you, you are willing to take out his knee caps by any means to win.
Andrewcas10:43PMMar 26th 2008
She has an inflated ego and resume and is a PATHOLOGICAL LIAR . . . her exageration of her trip to Bosnia is NOT ALL . . . Her contribution to the peace process in Northern Island was tea parties with Catholic and Protestant women, PERIOD. THAT WAS IT ! . . . . She claims to has played soccer in school. The problem is that her high school did not have a soccer team at that time, OOPS

As Hillary Clinton positions herself for a presidential run, a former fund-raiser is moving ahead with a lawsuit claiming the New York senator orchestrated the largest campaign-finance fraud ever by an American political campaign.
Peter Paul has filed a civil suit charging Sen. Clinton and her husband, former President Clinton, with fraud, coercion and conspiracy. California courts so far have denied the Clintons' motions to dismiss, and Paul expects the case to proceed at the beginning of the year, just as Hillary Clinton prepares to defend her Senate seat. Hillary has refused to personally admit she took any of the $1.2 million plus the Department of Justice prosecuted her finance director for hiding in 2005.
