Obama-McCain Letters: From Hope to Hatred
Mar 31st 2008 4:40PM
Filed Under:eDemocrats, Republicans, Barack Obama, John McCain, 2008 President, Humor, Ken Layne's Outrage
"Instead, what began as a promising collaboration between two men bent on burnishing their reformist credentials collapsed after barely a week. The McCain-Obama relationship came undone amid charges and countercharges, all aired publicly two years ago in an exchange of stark and angry letters." -- Washington Post, March 31, 2008Dear Senator Obama,
Congratulations on your election. I hope we can work together on campaign-finance reform and other pressing bipartisan issues, my friend.
Warmly,
John McCain
Dear Senator McCain,
Thanks for your kind note. I look forward to working with you in leading the country to a new future. Also, "hope" is my word.
Your Friend,
Barack Obama
Dear Barack,
"Leading" is a bit presumptuous, isn't it? You've been a senator for what, five minutes? I am still amicable to a brief meeting so I can tell you how things work here at the Senate, maybe after the lobbyists fly me back to Washington on a fancy corporate jet the likes of which you've never seen. (PS -- "Friend" is my word.)
Regards,
John
Dear John,
Perhaps your definition of "reform" is a bit different than my own. Language does have a tendency to change meaning over the centuries. I look forward to hearing about how you built the Capitol after clearing the Potomac swamps.
Tolerably,
Barack

Dear Barry Hussein,
Thank you for confirming everything I originally thought about you -- that you are a high-minded foolish punk who should've been toughened up like I was, in the Viet Cong torture camp. Too bad you spent the Vietnam years doing marijuana at a Muslim college in Soviet Africa.
Angrily,
John
Dear "Juan,"
Forgetting for a minute that you haven't got a snowball's chance in Hades of winning the election, are you sure you're even eligible to run for president? Last I heard, you were born in Panama. All it takes is a quick glance at your shriveled old head to know your birthday must have been long before your pretend grandson Teddy Roosevelt started building the Canal, in 1904. No wonder you want to keep America at war in Iraq for another hundred years -- it all blurs together for you, Gramps.
I "hope" you drop dead,
B.

Obama is a Republican plant...They know he can't beat McCain. He is stealing votes of the non-thinkers. Don't be fooled by a Fool...Obama is the biggest bag of hot air since Bush!
He is giving money to a FAKE Church of Christ and a FAKE "Man of God". They are spreading hate against America and should be put in jail as Terroists!
Sen. Clinton is the only person that can fix America...We should all be begging her to be President! Next headline..."Obama votes for Clinton"

OBAMABUSH makes me litterally ill and I can not stand for the hatred he, his wife and Pastor have put into the Universe. I hope Hillary wins but if not McCain is our man.

The past generations have lost it, this is our time to fix what the rest of you have left us to deal with, and couldn't fix yourselves.

Hey AOL, your push to get Obama elected is not working according to your own poll ROFL. Your Obama shills (Tommy and David) on the Obama Political Machine better work a little harder, their bs is disgusting.

i love obama and i will vote for him
mare6:28PMMar 31st 2008
How could any sane person "hate" Obama? For what reason? He is whom he says he is. He's a brilliant man - and that would be a real change - He is extremely articulate and that would be a huge change, uhhhhh - he is truthful, does not deceive, charming and warm. And he would make an excellent President!

If those that make the ignorant comments would spend more time reading factual information there would be less time spent on typing comments that are more opinionated than factual. At the end of the day you will believe what you want I just hope that the individuals that read your comments are intelligent enough to know what is facts and opinions......which I doubt. Generally speaking the American people vote based on how they feel and not what is best for the country as a whole.....why do you think we had George Bush in office beside the fact of the messed up election process as a whole.
Mr. Clark6:29PMMar 31st 2008
Ken Layne,
This is certainly the most detailed of the coverage I have seen. The truly scary thing is that this is probably verbatim. Always a pleasure. (Get your own show; you deserve it.)
Sincerely and respectfully,
Mr. Clark

Are these real? Wow. Still going to vote for Obama. Should all else fail...McCain!
mare6:34PMMar 31st 2008
Jgoodrow, are you understanding what is going on in this campaign? Obama is a marvelously bright, charming and articulate speaker wiith the best mind we have seen in decades!
CJ6:45PMMar 31st 2008
LOL!!! you clinton suppoters kill me. I don't understand your logic. You would rather vote for "100 years" McCain than Obama? You people are such sore losers. You would rather keep this war going on and have the economy continue this down word spiral because Clinton didn't win.*SMH* @ people that support hillary not caring about anything that has to deal with the Dem. party. All they won't is to get her in office and if that won't happen they are willing to destroy the party all together. and what is all this crap about Obama being a racist and a person that hates the US? If that is true than all his supporters are "anti-American" meaning a major part of the US is the same way seeing how any one that supports Obama stands by most of his veiws.LOL @ you crazies thinking Senators, Mayors, Governors, and House reps hate America....Clinton loss deal with it. the thought that you people are willing to have a third bush term shows that you don't care about this Country you just care about Clinton. If the dem. lose the race because of people like you on this site would you claim a victory or what? LOL @ you crazies

I think the new slogan for Obama should be
We can all Wait for HATE to retire
That is what he belives and said
He decided for hate to retire
Imagine if MLK had "waited?"

ALL THE MEDIA SWIFT BOATING of Clinton's campaign is paying off greatly for Obama.
Everyone knows Clinton would be winning easily if the media gave fair and equal coverage to both campaigns.
Thankfully the media has no control over the millions of Clinton supporters who will NOT support Obama, even if asked to by Clinton herself, and THAT will cost Obama the White House.
