Obama realizes that at this point both of the candidates views on issues and plans for the White House are well know by voters. Therefore there is no real point for any more debates. Just because Hillary wants to debate so she can stir up false drama, does not mean that Obama has to waste his time and partake in it. Obama will win the primary regardless of what happens today!
Joyce9:07AMApr 22nd 2008
He does not do well in debates as he doesn't have the preparedness that Hillary Clinton has. Obama knows he would lose again. He's obviously uncomfortable & it is also obvious that Hillary is far better qualified. He garnered votes early in the campaign before people knew who he really was. This is a "cop-out" as a concerned candidate will TAKE TIME for such important events. It does not put him in a good light. I see it as "something else we just now learned about him." We can't afford to elect Obama when Hillary is the one who has what it takes to beat McCain as well as lead the country into greatness (again). Poor judgment, Obama. Fight on, Hillary!

Obama's refusal to debate will not alter the outcome of North Carolina, although it will sway the numbers somewhat. It may have a decisive influence on Indiana, however, especially depending upon the PA results.
The public is now viewing Obama with a jaundiced eye. They've already seen that Clinton is better at debates, though not by much. Now they're seeing that Obama is not capable of withstanding a backlash from the media, and they're questioning what he'd do in a tight situation as President. Clinton's "If you can't stand the heat..." adage is adding fuel to that fire.

Run, run, run , Mr. Obama the media is caching up wit you. You are clearly afraid... How is Mr. Obama prepared to be a president and discuss important issues with international leader if he is afraid of debating with his opponent. I am sorry but this man is a joke. It just beyond my imagination how some are considering him as a serious candidate. To me he looks like more a trainee.
No Obama9:42AMApr 22nd 2008
Obama is bad news....the DNC knows this...they are just trying to get past this. Obama fooled the American voters, as days go by, more and more if his issues will surface.....He's the Republican's WMD (weapon of mass destruction) of choice for the Democratic Party!
Cynthia9:45AMApr 22nd 2008
The debate was scheduled. Obama just told NC voters that they don't count...As a Democrat, this makes me angry! And believe me, I'm not the only one in the Old North State that's p.o.'d...
Maybe he thinks Andy Griffith and all us (black and white) redneck hillbillies with our guns 'n bibles are beneath him...and not worth the effort.
Anyway, Obama's slap in the face has just given NC to McCain on a silver platter in the "real" election.
Thanks for nothing, Sen. Obama!
Go Hillary! The one who won't quit or give up on us!
Peace & Love

THE DEBATES ARE A FARCE!ALL HILL DOES IS ATTACK,ATTACK.SHE IS LIKE A JUNK YARD DOG. i WOULD VOTE FOR hOWDY dOODY BEFORE VOTING FOR HER. AND SHE IS ALSO A PATHOLOGICAL LIAR. OBAMA IS RIGHT SHE WILL SAY ANYTHING OR DO ANYTHING TO GET A VOTE. SHE IS A DESPERATE PERSON,BUT SHE LACKS HONESTY AND INTEGRITY WHICH WE HAVE IN OBAMA

OBAMA IS SCARED OF THE TRUTH COMING OUT ABOUT HIS PAST. THE REPUBLICANS WILL DESTROY HIM.
MattiesMaw10:25AMApr 22nd 2008
I would now like to introduce the new President of the United States, John McCain. Those are the words that we will here when its time for the swearing in ceremony. The Dems bit the dust again!
Georgette10:30AMApr 22nd 2008
It now is extreamly noticeable that Obama does not do well in debates. The day after a debate, he has to explain the why's of what he said or meant. Or moan and groan about the questions asked. I would dare to say that the media has somewhat scared him off. Or prehaps were starting to see the true person surface. He seems to talk quite nicely when his speechs are preplaned. I wonder how he would talk with diplomats from other countries face to face without a speech in hand. Or would he leave this up to others around him.
People, it all boils down to the lack of experience. I'm sure he's a good person, but It's just not his time. This Nation faces to many problems to even think of takeing a chance on a unexperienced person.
The stakes are much to high.

Another shining example of Obama's "Cut and Run" attitude. He does remind me of that little kid who wants you to play ball with his ball, but if you start winning the game - he wants to take his ball and go home! It is always fair when Obama attacks his opponents, but it is never fair (and he is outraged) when anyone criticizes him. He was eager to debate while he was being exalted but he runs from debates if the moderators have the audacity to ask him real questions.
We cannot afford to have a President who will "Cut and Run" from Presidential debates anymore than we can afford a leader who will force our troops to "Cut and Run" with no actual, withdrawal plan.
Clearly, there is a cut and run pattern emerging.
If Obama can't make the "Cut" - Obama should not "Run" for President.
Phillyfanatic10:35AMApr 22nd 2008
He claims that they've had 33 debates or whatever, but how many debates have they had in NC? What may be a reality for people in one state, amy be an entirely different reality for people in another state. It just goes to show you, Obama just hopes to ride his lead out to the nomination, and then get absolutely hammerred in a general election. And why will he get hammered? Because there are a ton of legitimate questions about his patriotism.
AJ10:35AMApr 22nd 2008
Obama cannot answer the questions asked regarding him personally. He doesn't want to reveal who he really is and how he really feels about America, patriotism, his religion, his racist church or the company of friends he associates with. Have you noticed his racist wife has been kept far from the media, after making her racial comments. Obama is hoping to win this election based on the black voters and young voters who cannot see through him.
This man is a WMD for this country.

"WIN OR LOOSE IN A DEBATE DOES NOT A PRESIDENT MAKE".
A PERSON'S CREDIBILITY,INTEGRITY AND HONESTY WITH THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE FAR BETTER QUALIFICATIONS THAN HOW SOMEONE ACTS AND IT IS ACTING IN A DEBATE.HILLARY LACKS THE ABOVE ATTRIBUTES AND HONESTY.MOST OFTHE AMERICAN PEOPLE HAVE SEEN THRU HER TRANSPARENCY.

I was planning to vote for Barack Obama. But since he apparently thinks are issues are exactly like every other state's issues, I have now changed my vote to Hillary Rhodham Clinton.
vmm333m10:46AMApr 22nd 2008
Barry Hussein Obama cannot debate. Why, because
he does not know the facts or have any answers
to our Nations problems.
He is a great "preacher", a bit phony, but knows how
to schmooze!!!
SamTexas10:47AMApr 22nd 2008
Jay M,
Your utter hatred for Clinton and your uneducated blogging make it easy for me and other Clinton Supports want to deflect from a once great political party. This doesn't mean we are not loyal to the party, this means we are loyal to the reality of voting and AMERICA as a whole. John McCain will beat Obama in the General if he gets this nomination. You claime Hillary is a lier and yadda yadda yadda. Talk about the issue differences and stop character assasinations.
