Rove is Right on Obama
That super-spooky, evil-genius, Lord-of-the-Sith GOP-mastermind Karl Rove, so despised and feared on the left, has again offered his unsolicited insights on the present condition of the Democratic primary. And, once again, Rove makes clear why the left so hates and loathes him - he is dead on in his analysis.
Rove begins... well, where Rove begins: Voter demographics. Despite outspending Clinton 3-1 and enjoying a 4%-5% lead in the days just prior to the election, Obama lost by 10% and failed to seal-the-deal with critical white, suburban votes.
The looming potential for disaster should have Democrats wringing their hands in fret. " Mr. Obama is near victory in the Democratic contest," Rove notes. However, Obama's"conduct in the last several weeks raises questions about whether, for all his talents, he is ready to be president."
Rove's perceptions on Obama's descent are enlightening.
And what of the reborn Adlai Stevenson? Mr. Obama is befuddled and angry about the national reaction to what are clearly accepted, even commonplace truths in San Francisco and Hyde Park. . . . Mr. Obama has a weakness among blue-collar working class voters for a reason.
His inspiring rhetoric is a potent tool for energizing college students and previously uninvolved African-American voters. But his appeals are based on two aspirational pledges he is increasingly less credible in making.
Mr. Obama's call for postpartisanship looks unconvincing, when he is unable to point to a single important instance in his Senate career when he demonstrated bipartisanship. And his repeated calls to remember Dr. Martin Luther King's "fierce urgency of now" in tackling big issues falls flat as voters discover that he has not provided leadership on any major legislative battle.
Naturally, there must be an inquiry into the motivation of such a contribution to the intellectual debate surrounding the Democratic contest from the dark overlord of the vast-right-wing-conspiracy. If Rove has an ulterior motive, it may be simply to articulate, via obvious perceptions and clear reasoning, the newly emergent truths: "The Democratic Party has two weakened candidates," and Obama may not be "ready for prime-time."

Vig- I also support your statement to superdelegates, and call on them to come out ahead of time, and stop taking the safe route. Obama is surely going ot have problems in the general election, and where will we be as Democrats because of it? We'll have McCain and that 's NOT a option. HILLARY IS OUR BEST OPTION!
dolly1:29PMApr 24th 2008
It amazes me that Obama can be offended that Charlie and George asked him some personal questions, well get over it they finally asked all the things people have been thinking and wanting answers to and he could not handle the heat so Hillary is right get out of the kitchen this sure did show the true side of Obama, go george and charlie

Karl Rove is always right? Then why did he work so hard and successfully to get a baffoon elected to the Presidency twice! The guy can't be all there!

Justin - Thanks for this, they say you are made stronger by facing evil, so, here it goes...
Karl Rove has a right to his opinion, but I suggest there may be more to your statement, "Naturally, there must be an inquiry into the motivation of such a contribution to the intellectual debate surrounding the Democratic contest from the dark overlord of the vast-right-wing-conspiracy"
Motivation - hummm
Here are some questions that I have heard "experts" slide into the discussion over the last three days. (That is another way of saying the point did not come from a "deranged cult-member".)
For inquiry:
Who holds the numbers?
What if a candidate needs an exit strategy, a strategy that would produce what was intended in the first place? (Control of the Democratic Party - at all levels) Break it down so it can be put back together again... Divide and concur... (Ever hear so much chatter about white this and black that?)
What if a candidate needed to legitimize a position to take the 2012 election? Poor thing, they just would not listen, well look how I have brought the DLC Party back together... Now elect me this time... I would not be too old, and I'm in good health...
What if some in the RNC would use a war hero as the head of their spear? See, he is not really one of us... Hold tight folks, we will keep hold... It's just 4 years...
What if the chaos was productive? Our profit and power influence is in place, just looks a little messy...
What if the media was useful? Look at ALL those talking heads shouting for ratings... Look at ALL that traffic coming in with our "splash for the cash"... Nah, those 2.0 folks are not really reporters...
Not my questions, but "expert" chatter.
But one does have to ask, why the sudden incersion, and meetings with, all those of "the vast-right-wing-conspiracy", NOW as opposed to the General?
What WOULD be gained by turning off the youth vote?
Hmmmm
More inquiry please.

Karl Rove? LOL...he has a lot of trouble heading his way. He may want to save his analysis for his defense. Looks like Mr. Rove is headed to jail.

So since when has Rove ever said any thing good about any democrate? Has the swift boating of John Kerry all of a sudden been lost to our memories? Rove obviously is no friend of any democrate and will stop at nothing to make sure the republicans hold onto the Presidency. He should be in jail for outing a CIA operative, He would proububly lie even if he was sworn in at a trial or hearing
From me:
“To make the definition of swiftboating synonymous with "smears," "lies," and "innuendo" is to declare John Kerry's innocence. Once declared, one may conclude that it is the service of the Swift Vets that is tarnished, and that there may be some truth to Kerry's claims of heroism and charges of genocide in Vietnam. After all, both Kerry and the Swift Vets cannot be telling the truth. Whether explicitly, or implicitly with this newly created derogatory connotation of swiftboating, to declare Kerry's innocence is to do again to the Swift Vets in 2008 what Kerry and cohorts did to them in 1971.’

That Rove says it is suspect enough.
That his words could freely interchange with the Clinton campaign says even more.
People forget that every single argument used against Obama here was in some form used against Bill Clinton in 1992.
People also forget that until the democrats get a candidate, the polls against the GOP are meaningless. The argument assumes either candidate's support leaves the party completely once the other wins . . . blatantly false. The argument assumes that this is a three candidate general election . . . blatantly false. The argument also assumes all three candidates are getting equal exposure on equal fronts . . . again blatanty false.
Obama is the frontrunner, both McCain and Clinton want him gone. If Clinton was the frontrunner, Rove, Limbaugh, The Pittsburg Tribune Review, and FOX news would be going after her with one main difference . . . Obama wouldn't be joining them.
That is why he is the frontrunner.
Any idiot can see the writing on the wall here, if he/she cares to look.
This guy scares the crap out of Washington . . . I love it!

Two more reasons Obama cant win:
ncgop.org
Thank you North Carolina! A state with some grit. A state unafraid of Axelrod and his goon squads.

To me, without getting too personal, it seems that many Obama supporters and even his campaign are "bitter" about the Clinton win in Pennsylvania. Yes, she was expected to win and she did. To come out now and think that he was only tryin' to close the gap or yadda yadda yadda is loonacy. He was tryin' to win it. You don't throw that kinda' money at something and not expect a big return. If that is the claim, then imagine what kinda' money he would throw as president and expect it to stick. Now, let's just take the popular vote, NOT DELEGATES, just yet. The idea of FL and MI has to come into play. The votes didn't break party rules, the party leaders in those states did. They are the ones who need to be punished. The popular vote from those two states should count. REGARDLESS! Work the delegate count out later. This will be the first time in history maybe that all 50 states will get to vote in a primary that really matters, but wait...not all 50 states. Just 48? Clinton and Obama had no choice but to agree with the FL and MI fiasco, let's be clear on that. Other states were able to move their primaries, but why not these two states. I know I am gettin' a little side tracked here, but there really is so much to cover. I'll have to blog it on myspace. Bottom line here though, Rove is on to something and the votes in PA felt the same way. Supers will vote which ever way they want. It's obvious and hypocritical for Obama to say "the will of the people" where a good portion of his Supers are from Districts and States that Clinton won. You can't really use that as a legitimate reasoning for pressuring them to vote for you. Though, it is working for some odd reason.

I am more afraid of Barack Hussein Obama and his "Manchurian Candidacy," than I am of Karl Rove. That tells me everything I need to know...
1QUARTERHORSE1:48PMApr 24th 2008
I am a rural, small-town American. I’m not bitter. I don’t carry a gun but I do believe in the Holy Bible and God.
Hillary won in Pennsylvania, despite being outspent by Obama's “mega bucks” and bombardment on TV, radio, internet ads, phone calls, etc., etc., because we believe Hillary to be the better candidate --- pure and simple. True Americans cannot be bought!
Hillary was GREAT in the Pennsylvania debate --- Obama did quite poorly.
OBAMA HAS REFUSED TO DEBATE IN NORTH CAROLINA. He apparently can only read a pretty scripted speech from a teleprompter --- And he wants to run our country??? NO WAY!
Does he plan to have Jeremiah Wright spewing “God Damn America” from the White House? Are Obama’s frequent visitors going to be their anti-American, terrorist friends: bomber Ayers, Farrakhan, Rezko, among others?
We need someone to show respect to ALL Americans, regardless of where they live.
HILLARY 2008!
Crystal1:49PMApr 24th 2008
Obama supporters are supposedly the educated, the college kids and the elitists. Take away the 97% of the black votes and he's left with the supposedly educated, elitists and college kids, which adds up to NOTHING!! Anybody who doesn't think this race is all about race, is in denial. And anybody who doesn't vote for Obama is immediately accused of being a racist by none other than the the racists themselves. That's the only defense you have, since you can't point to anything important he's done for our country other than make speeches that have more times than not - zzzzzzzzzzzz!!
Wolf1:50PMApr 24th 2008
Vig - one other thing for the super-delegates is that I would ask them to read both of Senator Obama's books and ask him questions.
Whispers - I understand what you are saying but I am wondering why Black people vote for Senator Obama? I have read and heard it is because he is black. Would it surprise you to know he is 7% black, 43% Arab and 50% white? It is how Senator Obama chooses to represent himself but I do wonder if it is politically motivated and the black voters of the US are being duped?
DAN1:50PMApr 24th 2008
CLINTON AND ROVE HAVE A LOT IN COMMON. UGH!!!
Shirley1:51PMApr 24th 2008
Clinton's SPAMMING is getting to be too much, 4 incoing emails a day begging for money. Like one would be enough. She is REALLY DESPERATE.
