Is Clinton Broke Again?
May 7th 2008 9:22AM
Filed Under:eHillary Clinton, Democrats, Featured Stories, 2008 President, Fundraising
That's the news leaked by The Drudge Report, a suspect source if ever there was one, but now confirmed by the AP and Howard Wolfson. The details? Hillary Clinton has dipped into her personal fortune once again, loaning her campaign another $6.4 million last month, and that she'll be transferring even more funds from the joint bank account soon. The last time the alarm was sounded that hard financial times had befallen Clinton's campaign, donors opened their wallets big time, and came to her rescue. Since then, however, we've learned how much money the Clintons made since Bill left office, and, after yesterday's primaries, Hillary's chances suddenly look bleak at best. So will loyal Clinton supporters ride to the rescue yet again?
Camp Clinton has struggled with debt ever since Super Tuesday. Last night, I even heard one MSNBC pundit suggest that one factor in any deal paving Clinton's exit from the race would be for Obama to agree to pay off Hillary's outstanding campaign debts.
Meanwhile, kos wonders if Hillary will stay in the race to try and raise money to cover her debts. I suppose he means that she'd technically still be in it, hold fundraisers and continue to take in money online, but not actually spend all that much in the next few primaries.

I have contributed equally to both Obama and Hillary. But the handwriting is on the wall now. Obama has the upper hand and I will no longer contribute to Hillary to prolong this miserable process.

Wolfson just confirmed that she loaned herself another 6.4 million and said he doesn't rule out her loaning herself more....LOLOLOL

I cannot bring myself to vote for Obama and or McCain. I am an independent and was hoping for a change for the good in the Whitehouse, however I believe Obama has already lost that race. Most Independents and Republican women who wanted Hillary will now vote for McCain if she is denied the lead. There is no way the black voters and small group of whites can elect Obama who will be swiftboated.

In a word, yes.

This has been a tough contest. However, it is inevitable that Obama will received the nomination. It is time to come together and support whomever the nominee is to be...again, in this instance it is Obama.

Yep, remember who her people are, and they don't have as much money. Obama gets the richies, remember?
Obama also has: George Soros, Ted Turner, Oprah Winfrey, Nadhmi Auchi, Raila Odinga & Libya loot, and oil...oil...oil...OIL money coming in.
But don't worry ya'll, Obama is getting ALL his money from US citizens who give him just $5.00 here, and $10.00 there.
Yeaahhhhh riiiiight.

AP has the story now too.
Clinton lends herself $6.4M as Obama's lead grows
Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) - A campaign aide says Hillary Rodham Clinton loaned herself $6.4 million in the past month.
Politically wounded and financially strapped, Clinton plunged back into the presidential campaign Wednesday even as Barack Obama declared that Tuesday's primary results left him with a "clear path to victory."

The question is, where is Obama getting his money? Cerainly not from $5.00 and $10.00 donations. Hmmmm.
Leslie10:14AMMay 7th 2008
Well, this US citizen gave him 4600.00
tfitz101710:14AMMay 7th 2008
kaflooey, you all can ride to the rescue if you like but you will just be paying off the personal debt of the loser, Hillary Clinton.

It isn't really that important if someone chooses to not wear an American flag pin. What's "scary" is when a presidential candidate refuses to wear one.
Davidg10:18AMMay 7th 2008
Wow Katherine...Odinga and African Oil...Soros, Turner and the billionaires' club all want him to be president...I just can't imagine why.
Obama is more crooked than Bush ever imagined himself to be in his wildest dreams.
Mildred Martinez10:19AMMay 7th 2008
Where is Obama getting all these millions to outspend Hillary 4 times to 1? Stop and think here. We do need a change from Bush's far right but for God's sake we can't go to the far left. Obama has not the experience and he is far too liberal. I am afraid if he wins the american people are going to be sorry.
Connie Lopez10:19AMMay 7th 2008
I will support Hillary till the end, don't people get it, yet.. Barack Obama is a smooth talker, he got his lessons for good speeches from his pastor for 20 years, I am sorry that some people don't get it yet , he is a junior senator with no experience, he is slow at answering about the important issues, and Ithink his Pastor is right on him about his real character.
