Limbaugh Effect Gives Hillary Indiana?
May 7th 2008 3:44PM
Filed Under:eHillary Clinton, Democrats, Primaries, 2008 President
Dittoheads (a pet name Limbaugh uses for his fans) to vote for Hillary Clinton in open Democratic Primaries in order to prolong the party's nominating process. Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton sent this out last night via email: According to the latest exit polling data, 17% of voters in the Indiana primary today said they would vote for John McCain in a Clinton/McCain matchup.I checked it with a calculator and everything. On today's Obama campaign conference call, Senator John Kerry brought it up, too:
41% of that number is constituted by people who voted Clinton in the primary but also indicated they will vote for McCain in the general election.
That comes out to just under 7% of the primary electorate the number that may be attributed to a "Limbaugh Effect."
If it hadn't been for republicans taking democratic ballots, he likely would have won Indiana. Rush Limbaugh was tampering with the primary and the GOP has clearly delcared that they want Hillary Clinton as a candidate. With only a 2 point margin in Indiana, it makes sense for the Obama campaign to point this out, but it begs the question of whether or not they are legitimizing Limbaugh's tactic. I contacted both campaigns for this story, but, as yet, have not received a response.

Did not Mr. Obama not start Operation Chaos in Nevada
Confused6:17PMMay 7th 2008
Now, faced with a mathematical mountain climb that even Stephen Hawking could not ascend, the Clintons -- and it is indeed both of them -- are just about to paste a bumper sticker on the rear of the collapsing vehicle that carries her campaign. It reads: VOTE WHITE.
belle6:23PMMay 7th 2008
TO Vic.
You are the one that is wrong. There has been more cross over votes for OBAMA, but you juat won't admit it. The republicans know real Dem. voters won't vote for the smooth talking man with no plan in the general election. I know I don't want McCain, but if the only other choice is Obama than this dem. voter will vote for McCain. He will only be good for one term, where the change man would want 8 years, so 4 years of McCain is better than 1 year of Obama let along a possibility of 8 years.

Mr Obama in Nevada started Operation Chaos, by asking Rep to jump over and vote for him and then go back to being Rep. the next day.

ITS SO SAD TO WATCH LITTLE BY LITTLE THE DISINTEGRATE OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY ONLY BECAUSE 25% OR 30% OF THE IRRESPONSIBLE, REBEL WHITE KIDS THAT DECIDED TO BE DIFFERENT FROM THERE PARENTS, THESE KID ONLY THINK OF TODAY, TOMORROW THEY DON'T CARE.WHY IS THE PARTY DISINTEGRATE?
BECAUSE IF OBAMA BE'S THE CANDIDATE OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY FOR PRESIDENT, HE WILL NEVER OR DREAM OF BEING ELECTED. THE REAL AND RESPONSIBLE DEMOCRATS WILL GIVE YOUR VOTE TO McCAIN OR SOMEBODY FROM THE THIRD PARTY(NOT VENTURA OR NADER PLEASE GOD NOT), IF THIS HAPPENS GOOD BYE STRONG DEMOCRATIC PARTY. IT STILL HAS A LOT OF TIME TO BE LOYAL WITH YOUR RACE LIKE BLACK PEOPLE THAT 99% TO VOTE FOR A BLACK CANDIDATE. PLEASE HONEST DEMOCRATS OVER 25 DON'T LET NOBODY DESTROY THIS GREAT NATION, VOTE HILARY CLINTON SHE IS THE ONLY ONE WELL PREPARED TO TAKE CARE OF THIS COUNTRY AND WILL UNITE US AGAIN WITH THE WHOLE WORLD. YOUR VOTE WILL MAKE THE COME BACK OF THE PEACE AND PROSPERITY OF THE WHOLE WORLD. PLEASE GOD CLEAR THE MINDS OF ALL YOUR KIDS THAT DESPERATELY NEED IT

It is true the Republicans have been campaigning in states where Democrats have primaries to defeat Barack Obama because they know he is the most formidable candidate with a grassroots following that has funded him like no other candidate , especially McCain, who has not had success in lining up small supporters to give millions of times in small amounts. Their smear ads in North Carolina proved what they are up to. Barack will make a great President. Yes, we can. Elect Barack Obama President.
BALONEYBUSTER6:50PMMay 7th 2008
Baloney.
The blogger really overestimates the power of Rush Limbaugh.
Why would someone as far right as to follow Limbaugh vote for Hillary Clinton instead of Barack Obama, knowing that Clinton is the much more viable candidate against McCain?
I'm sure a few of his diehards did it, but those could at best number in the hundreds.
The conservatives want nothing more than an Obama nomination. All the dirt on Hillary is old mud, slung a million times. The dirt on Barack Obama is brand new, barely been touched by a broom.
What we know and hear so far about Obama is nothing compared to what the Republicans know. Oh and good for them if they bring it out for the good of the country.
Rush really has people believing his hype and influence. Of course people like this blogger will do and say anything to spin for Obama.

Obama/Clinton ticket. Invincible!- YOU MUST BE OUT OF YOUR FRIGGING MIND. IF ANY CLINTON ON THE TOP ,MORON!

You're the one in denial, sister! Estas equivocada y obviamente, una racista. Attacking fellow commenters is what gives Hillary supporters like us a bad name. Without getting into credentials here, I know just a little bit of what I'm talking about. As much as I'd love for Hillary to prevail, I think you need a serious reality check. Besides, Clinton/Edwards would be my dream ticket, but it aint happenin'. Get real.

I have quite a few friends of the white persuasion, that are republicans, and independants. They tell me honestly that they are all voting for obama to create a problem in the democratic race. They do this because they know that Mccain cannot beat hillary in the general election, and even if obama becomes the nominee, someone will have him killed, and Mccain will still win...you must understand, that these people hate blacks with a passion.....I hope nothing like that happens, but after seeing the 90% to 96% of blacks voting for the sake of just getting a black man in office in all the primaries and caucasus....I am unfortunetly, becomming a racist myself
vlg7:09PMMay 7th 2008
The obvious logical answer: The candidate with the largest number of delegates is the nominee for President, and the candidate in second place is the nominee for Vice-President.
But who said politicians are ever obviously logical?
WV4OBAMA7:17PMMay 7th 2008
Rush Limbaugh knows that Hillary will be the easiest candidate to beat because of her negatives, If we stick with Obama it won't matter what the Operation Chaos people do. If she doesn't get the nomination Obama better look out for sniper fire.

LMAO The Tribune Review is a right wing rag paper that vehmently hated the Clintons and let the readers know it every day he was in office and Richard Mellon Scaife is the editor a hard right wing Republican. They are playing the Rush game quite well for Hillary. The Republicans know they can beat Hillary with all thier baggage and hate them with a passion. After Rushs behavior of publically tampering with the elections all states should have declared all primaries wioudl be closed primaries and you had to go to the courthouse and change parties and re register, not chose which party you wanted at the polls.

I AGREE WITH YOU catalogsplus... !!
The extreme left wing Democrats and racist black voters are more concerned
about Obama getting the nomination than to win the election. These are nice
"friendly games" now, the primaries, but the real dog fight is coming in November.
Obama can't win. We are NOTvoting for Obama. We vote Hillary or McCain.

"I voted for Clinton but will not vote for racist Obama. I would rather put up with 4 more years of Republicans than vote for him."
I'm with you Donna on this, as well as many Democrate voters I know.

I don't doubt the corruption at all. There has been so much unfairness & manipulation during this campaign it is absolutely sickening. One reads about it occurring in elections in other countries. It saddens me that America is stooping to such a low level. Teaching the young people that cheating & corruption is okay to get what you want is wrong, wrong, wrong. There's a lot in this country that needs fixing & I think starting with the aforementioned might be a good place. Things HAVE to change....along with the attitudes of some of the bloggers. Such horrid comments only reflects on the person making them. Is that what you are teaching your children?
jb7:58PMMay 7th 2008
Why does anybody believe Hillary can manage the nation's economy when she can't keep her own campaign out of debt?
