Kennedy to Hillary: 'No Veep For You!'
Hillary joining Obama's ticket as Vice President. According to Politico's Ben Smith, however, prominent Obama supporter and Democratic Party royal Ted Kennedy says, "Not so fast...": Obama should choose a running mate who "is in tune with his appeal for the nobler aspirations of the American people," Kennedy said. "If we had real leadership - as we do with Barack Obama - in the No. 2 spot as well, it'd be enormously helpful."Wow. What a D move, and I don't mean "Democratic." I can't wait to see the comments on this one. Now, I know that Ted is a beloved figure among Democrats, and who am I to argue with an elder statesman? I'm going to have to re-think my whole position on this "Dream Ticket."
(...3, 2, 1) OK, I'm done. You're wrong, Ted, wrong! In bold fonts!
I'm not going to restate my entire case for the dream ticket, which I've made several times now. Rather, I would just like to say that Senator Kennedy is not helping matters no matter who ends up as VP. Does he really think it's a good idea to piss off Hillary's supporters? To those Hillacrats, I would point out the petulant, passive-aggressive tone of the statement, and ask that you empathize with him a little. This has been a hard-fought campaign, and there are bound to be some hurt feelings.
There have been signals from the Clinton camp that Hillary would be amenable to a VP nod, and it is my observation that, despite hard feelings, Senator Obama is far too smart a politician not to make such an obviously smart move. This is truly a test for Obama, can he win gracefully and shrug off the rancor of this campaign?
For a truly post-partisan candidate, this should be no problem. Let's see what happens.

Hello Obama supporters; all you care is about Obama, but we the Hillary supporters care about America and Hillary so at the end we will win and win GOD bless America

IF NOT HILLARY, THEN MCCAIN...... WHAT A SHAME ....WE HAD A CHANCE AT A DEMOCRAT AND LOST IT......OBAMA'S WIFE AND FORMER MINISTER DID HIM IN FOR ME....NO THANKS....

I will not vote for OBAMA if he wins I do not trust him at all. I have been a lif long democrat I will vote for John McCain If Obama gets the Nomination

There is to much bad blood between the two. Also Hillary has made some very negative remarks about Obama and racist remarks about him and Minorities in general. I feel to make his ticket a strong one he should pick someone from the south, a fresh person but with experience that would compliment him, and that believes more in him and his abilities. Considering Hillary has shown how she feels.

I HOPE HILLARY WILL GO INDEPENDENT SHE WILL WIN AND PUT HIM OUT COMPLETELY GOOD LUCK HILLARY PUT HIM WHERE HE BELONGS

There are so many frikkin liars posting on AOL.
Come on people, grow up....
When OBAMA is officially our nominee, all true Democrats are going to vote for him in November.
If you vote for that old fart McCain.....you ain't no Democrat/Independent anyway.
All of you immature, silly, delusional hillary supporters need to stop with the childish threats! If you're prejudiced, bigoted, racist or a white supremacist, we don't want you anyway.
OBAMA is the future of the Democrat Party and the Country. The clinton's, bushes and mccain's represent the old guard; the failed policies of the past.
Barack & Michelle OBAMA have energized the country. Young first time voters are going to change the course of history....and for the betterment of the United States Of America. Only OBAMA can repair the damage to America's reputation around the world done by 8 failed years of bush/cheney.
And yes, Oprah's support helped.
Ted Kennedy is CORRECT! We need a younger VP with the ebullient vitality, energy and vision of Barack OBAMA. Not Hillary. She has way too much baggage including, lobbyists, special interest groups, Washington insiders and Bill!
America will be respected again after Barack is sworn in.

If you are a true Democratic, you will not vote for Mc Cain. You have to be a real dumb ass, to vote Mc Cain. A vote for Mc Cain is a vote Bush and the 100 year war. If Sen. Clinton get the nomination I will vote for her. I don't like her at all. She think just because she was first lady for eight years, that she can be president. She only been first Lady and in the US Senator. She don't know any more they Sen Barack Obama. If she lose this, she can thank her husband and his mouth, and the fact she will do and say any to be president. To some of us that's a turn off.
The real reason people don't want to vote for Senator Barack Obama is because he is an African American. They don't want to say that because people may mistake then for a racial. That what we think, what else can it be. You rather give Bush a 3rd term, then vote for Senator Barack Obama.

When will we get beyond the race issue? Those of you who say you want vote for Obama if he is the Democratic candidate. Instead you'll vote for McCain. What? Do you really want our troops to continue to stay in Iraq? Do you really want to sink deeper into a recession? Do you really want to support policies that you once stood for as Democrats? Wake up!! Get over yourselves and see the reality of what our country is supposed to stand for.

The last time two Democrates coould only win the presidence was in 1960 when in order to win Texas J.F.K. had to swallow his pride and beg L.B.J. to run with him. We saw what happen to J.F.K. and with the Clintons it would be another path to the white house. How soon we forget

So TED is advising Obama shouldn't pick Hillary as VP??? Yeah, Ted's such a great promoter of presidential horse flesh. Gore--Loser. Kerry, Loser. Ted's own campaign--DOA. Obama--NEXT LOSER, if Hillary's voters don't vote for him. The Obamorons don't want to admit it but if the Democratic rules were winner take all, Hillary would be the nominee because she wins the big states AND THE SWING STATES THAT THE DEMS NEED IN THE FALL. I PROMISE you, I will not vote for Obama. I am sick to death of the arrogance of the Obama and his people. I will absolutely vote McCain if Hillary is not on the ticket. She won almost half, folks. You need her.
Maybe Teddy should drive Hillary home if you don't want her around...

I have lived in massachusetts and have been a Kennedy supporter for years and then I grew up and realize ...this man has done nothing... for anyone...He may sound good to liberals..he is NOT the has fed off the voters far to long...ask him about the wind turbines that he would vote for because his view from his Hyannisport porch will be disturb... What's good fot the goose is good fot the gander Fat Boy!

It seems to me that too many people are trying to make it difficult for Obama at every turn. Ted Kennedy is too old just like McCain is too old. I am not particullarly thrilled with an obama/Hillary ticket; but, it sure beats a Obama/Kennedy ticket. Ted, you, in my opinion, will serve the Democratic party better just where u are.
Catherine Bombac6:43PMMay 9th 2008
All righty then!
John McCain will hit Obama with Wright, the weatherman contact, Hamas, Larry Sinclair, his lack of experience, and, his inability to make a decision unless he is coached from the sidelines.
We will have McCain as our next president. All because some silly people would rather dream from words spoken by a charistmaic man. Reality is another story. Hillary should be the president. Our country would rebound financially, and, life would be a lot less dependent on foreign interests.
MARLENE6:44PMMay 9th 2008
KENNEDY IS RIGHT. AND BESIDES, THE PRESIDENT WOULD BE SHARING THE SPOTLIGHT WITH BILL CLINTON AS WELL AS HILLARY IF SHE GETS THE VP NOD. NOT A GOOD IDEA WHEN ONE IS AS PUSHY AS BILL; HE REQUIRES TOO MUCH ATTENTION AND NEEDS HIS EGO STROKED (AMONG OTHER THINGS!) TOO FRQUENTLY. OUR NEXT PRESIDENT NEEDS TO STAND ON HIS OWN TWO FEET WITHOUT ANY NOISE FROM THE PEANUT GALLERY. GO BARACK! I WILL SUPPORT YOU EVEN THOUGH I AM A HILLARY FAN, TURNED OFF BY HER NASTY CAMPAIGN!
WILMA6:44PMMay 9th 2008
HILLARY DO NOT JOIN WITH HIM. DNC MADE A BIG MISTAKE FORCING HIM ON US. WE WILL VOTE REP.
Joe Feil6:45PMMay 9th 2008
How about, it don't matter! Rebublicans Win anyway!
DS6:45PMMay 9th 2008
Personaly it would be a smart move by Obama to select
Hillary as a VP running mate. It would bring in a good portion of on the fence voters who are not happy with the idea of Obama being the Democratic candidate. I'm one of them. I'm considering voting Republican for the first time. Make a wise choice. Do not listen to Ted Kennedy. He still has his head in a bottle. There are many like me.
