Obama to Declare Victory on May 21
In a move that will rock the Democratic foundations, Barack Obama will reportedly announce his victory as the Democratic nominee following the May 20 primaries in Kentucky and Oregon. The bold (perhaps reckless) declaration will excite party loyalists and spark an aggressive response from the Clinton campaign.
Both sides will cite variously tortured numbers in support of their interpretations of the Democratic party's torturous nominating process. Obama's campaign will peg the threshold at 2,025 pledged and super-delegates (a tally excluding Florida and Michigan). Clinton will include those states and demand a total count of 2,209. Yet, Obama will not have met either of those markers following the May 20 primaries. Instead, Obama will have won the majority of pledged delegates (1,627) - excluding, of course, those from Florida and Michigan, which would raise the bar to 1,784 (which Obama will not likely reach on May 20). Clinton will also retort that pledged delegates alone do not win the contest, but only those Illuminati-esque super-delegate can finally award victory. And then there is the whole issue of the popular vote, which might not be in accord with the delegate count (with or without the two states in limbo).
Regardless of the dizzying math and rivaling perspectives, the inescapable result of an Obama declaration of victory will be that Clinton will cry foul. Both campaigns will then inundate the public with interpretations, constructions, statistics and a load of other perplexing formulations which will all boil down to calling the other candidate a cheat. The wedge between Obama and Clinton supporters will widen, and Clinton voters will engender animosities toward Obama which will make their conversion to his camp (following his inevitable nomination) all the more difficult. A Clinton vice-presidency will become less palatable as she resorts to personal dispersions against her too-presumptive challenger.
Obama's early declaration will be premature, and its effect will be to harden Clinton supporters and engulf the Democratic party in a bickering tainted with charges of fraud. Perhaps McCain could be so lucky that one of the campaigns would threaten a lawsuit. Obama's gamble will win him (unneeded) media attention, but it will not secure his nomination any sooner than would otherwise have occurred.

If the superdelegates continue to move over to Senator Obama and he is nominated by the democratic party (DNC), Senator McCain will be President McCain in Janaury 2009.

I cannot believe he is going to go ahead and declare victory...the more I research about Obama the more chilling it is to think he could ever run our country. My God we HAVE to have Hillary for President to steer this country in the right direction!!!

I will NOT support Barack H. Obama! Hillary, if not her, then McCain. Unreal how the DNC can rule that people's votes do not count, how dare they!

American
100% agree with you on all points!! Obama is an image they are using him and he loves it as long as he gets to the finish line first.
Obama had a gifted strategist in David Axelrod or he would not have made it past the first state.
Congress has known all along who & what they required in a President. The knew Hillary Clinton would not kneel to them, they have watched her in person on the Senate floor, she is tuff!!
Hillary Clinton will do more in her Senate seat in one month then Barack Obama will do in four years!!!
The Democratic Party is soiled by this election, it is broken beyond repair.
The arrogance of accepting the nomination before the campaign is over makes me sick.
I will write in Hillary Clintons name on my ballot in Florida in the General Election.
What a pompous ass this man Obama.

Obama can just keep adding super delegates while he is losing our votes to McCain. Obama and his super delegates can explain for the next 20 years how the democratic party lost this election, should sell a few books so start writting them

ITS time, we form the NEW DEMOCRATIC PARTY.
The Democratic party, as it stands, serves special interests and does not represent the will of the people. It is splitting because they are supporting an UNQUALIFIED candidate who is a racist with radical ties. The DNC is trying to anoint him with media manipulation.
NO THANK YOU. I WILL BE VOTING MCCAIN IF OBAMA GETS THE NOMINATION.

This has been a very unusual primary season thus far. It has almost always felt like all the powers that be were againt Hillary. Obama and his people had their hands in the pockets of the media--it wasn't all just sexism...it's partly money, and a plan.
Obama followers cannot see how bizarre this whole thing has been, how strangely unfair.
I know a lot about Obama's background, and I know all the ones he is getting a boost from--domestically and internationally, and I am not sure if Americans could rise above and fight against Obama, when he has so much of the world backing him, and especially since so many Americans are uninformed due to the media protection and promotion of Obama.
There is a plan, guys, and it IS to "change" America. It's unfortunate and devastating beyond belief that others cannot as easily see it all for what it is. Hitler did this: started with youth, they are the ones who are most open to a different America and taking a chance on an unknown.
All the signs have been there--how he was raised--who he is connected to. Shoot, a lot of it is hidden in plain sight so as not to seem...jarring...or maybe just so you get used to it.
I have never heard GD America so much in my life due to the repeated coverage. Maybe I have heard it...100 X? We must be careful, repetitive slogans, jingles, etc--media tricks work in advertising, and I wouldn't want to think that this GD America US of KKK A is having a different effect on certain people, but I digress.
The party of the democrats is largely at fault because of their system. We've seen what happened with Florida and Michigan, and we've heard about voting fraud and caucus cheating, and we've seen supers go for Obama even though Hillary won those states. We've seen Obama propaganda and media protection and promotion for Obama. Hillary attacks have been the main theme.
The interesting thing, is that this is a mixed problem. A lot of who Obama has on his side (who are in the know) think they love America, and that they would be changing it for the better and they also love the world, of course too, and want to even things out and make harmony. Those dreamy communists are easy to persuade, but there's another communist element here, and it is racial and ethnic and yes, religious socialism--a pan-socialism, sorry to say it, but Islamic-socialism.
I cannot even begin to count how many hours I have studied Obama and all those connected to him. Who grooomed him--who boosted him--who financed him--who rasied him.
When I tell you I think our country, as we know it--at the very least, *ideologically*--as a super-power--will be destroyed, I know it sounds like too much for Obama followers. I know that they just see him as a black American who is beating the odds and it is exciting, but it is so much more that is happening.
I used to think that saying "I Told You So" would give me some sort of self-satisfying feeling, but it won't.
Part of the reason why I have been such a huge Hillary fighter online is because I wanted her to stop him early. (Also, because I love her plans and I trust her and I know she would be one of the best presidents in history.) But, I wanted her to stop him early, but it's always felt planned and orchestrated against her.
Haven't you seen that the only thing that has been on her side were the American voters? They are the only ones--the people. The way the democratic party is, they almost make it impossible to overcome who they have set their minds to being the dem nom...the caucuses and the supers and the inner city bonus points are set up, in a way, to overcome the people's vote. It's a very faulty party system--a corrupt one, and a very unsafe one.
If Obama gets the dem nom, and he asked Hillary to be VP, it would only be to use her and get to the Presidency--it would relieve me only a touch, because I know that Bill and Hillary are not down for the change, but she would be ousted in one way or another pretty soon into it. By any means necessary.
--------------------
I know people joke and say: Commie!, well, I am not. I know that Obama is surrounded, literally saturated with communists, anti-Americans, radical Muslims, and radical far left liberals, and so much oil money from different oil sources around the world, it would really wow your mind. Obama will not ever run out of money. No.
So how to make sure he does not make it to the White House? It's just the American people alone that could stop him. Or someone who knows the deal at the top and doesn't like it. But it's on American's hands to try to save this country from Obama.
Do not even worry about reaching his strong followers--they are 100% brain-jacked and they have been immersed in his campaign and there is no way that they can see out of it, or even face toward it.
It's been said a million times...but it's true:
America needs to WAKE UP.

I'm sorry but I have to say that most of the comments that I'm reading are just ridiculous. I think Barack Obama is the best candidate for a number of different reasons. Based on what I'm reading it appears to me that most people that are commenting are pretty uneducated on Barack Obama and also what has actually taken place over the past few weeks.
I believe I can safely say Barack is not racist. His mother is white for one, and two: as part of the Illinois state senate he wrote legislation to stop racial profiling. While accomplishing the latter he also ran a campaign for death penalty reform which resulted in the requirement of all police interrogations of homicide suspects to be video-taped.
He has always been against the war on Iraq, and has stuck firmly to the same core values he has always believed in. [You can find record of what I've stated on Encarta.com (by all means, use any source you want to reference it)]
Also, his thoughts on Rev Wrights’ statements have not changed in any way, shape, or form all throughout his campaign. [This is pretty evident if you watch the ENTIRE debates or press conferences (Youtube.com)]. If the Rev.’s speech/Q and A were viewed ENTIRELY you would see that there was a lot of good that was said as well. The majority of the coverage on the speech/Q and A that was aired mainly consisted of 1 30 sec. sound bite while the total duration of the speech/Q and A lasted well over an hour. If it's viewed in FULL you come to realize that he was doing a lot of his own personal posturing. Barack Obama immediately denounced his comments and definitely did not agree with them (you can view his response Youtube as well). Generally speaking, I must say, for the Clinton campaign and the Republicans to use the Rev. as the only method of attack I believe says a lot in itself.
I would like to point out that it is also odd to point him out as the "frontrunner" for the left-elite [left-elite is really an oxy-moron in itself because if you study, the farther left supporters of the party are normally the minority and more poverty-stricken groups of the party. Elite would encompass the richest (normally the Republicans in the US), "best", or most powerful.] and "puppet" for the DNC. He not gained any of his campaign money through lobbyist’s or special interests groups, which, I believe, basically alleviates the puppet theory. There’s no way that would work considering how his campaign functions. In defense of the left-elite theory, he represented some of the poorest ghettos while working with the Illinois State Senate. I think this would prove he’s not trying to appeal to one group if that’s what the intended use of the term was for since it clearly, while broken-down, doesn’t apply.
I know that both parties still majorly disagree on the same issues that may never change. One: the War in Iraq, Two: economic issues, Three: pro-choice, pro-life, and Four: same-sex unions. Both democratic candidates have basically the same fundamental ideas on these issues while strongly opposing John McCains. These issues are what essentially separate the parties. When the "dust settles" from the primaries, these large issues still remain and each candidates stance on the war in relation to the peoples stance will be the main determining factor on who succeed as the new President of the U.S. (As a side note; McCain supporters may want to do more research on how similar his "approach" is to that of the Bush administration, if not worse.)
Regardless, whomever wins the nomination deserves to be represented fairly and accurately. This is my attempt to try and do so for Barack Obama. Please feel free to cross-reference and research for yourself what I have stated. I am open for and debate or discussion on any issue I mentioned.

Leave it to the people of the Democratic party to select a radical, racist, hate-filled, pandering,, corrupt, unpatriotic, terrorist-loving, smooth-talking snake oil salesman to the highest office in the land.
This country is in big trouble and we don't need a rookie President in training wheels. Where is the DLC when you need them?
Thankfully he will go down big-time in the general election where the black and the ultra liberal vote is a very small percentage and the DNC can hang their heads in shame once again.
I fear for this country and if Hillary is not the nominee. as a moderate Democrat, my support will go to McCain as the lesser of two evils.
My vote against Obama is not because of the color of his skin but the color of his heart.

ABC News' Karen Travers Reports: For the first time this campaign season, Barack Obama has surpassed Hillary Clinton's support among superdelegates, according to the ABC News delegate estimate.
Sen. Obama, D-Ill., picked up two superdelegates this morning giving him a new metric to tout in addition to his current commanding leads in pledged delegates, popular votes, states won, and money raised.

Let's see what is going to become of the new revelation that many of Obama's absentee ballots were counted twice. They have already erased 15,000 votes from only two counties! Makes Hillary within 89,000 of the new popular vote total.

In what some Democratic Party insiders are calling a particularly ominous sign for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, former president Bill Clinton today became the latest superdelegate to switch from Sen. Clinton to her rival, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill).
Sources close to the former president said that Mr. Clinton had been mulling such a defection for weeks, as early as the night of the Iowa primary, but that he only decided to make his decision public today.
"The American people want change," Mr. Clinton said at a press conference in New York. "Lord knows I do."
The former president said that "sometimes, at the end of a race, you have to put an old horse down," adding, "I'm not speaking metaphorically."
Mr. Clinton fueled speculation that he was seeking a role in an Obama administration, saying, "I know my way around the Oval Office, and I know how the super-secret double-lock works."
The former president said he would relish a return to the White House, calling his tenure there "good times."
For her part, Sen. Clinton said that the defection of her husband would not deter her from staying in the race, adding, "To my knowledge, he's the only white voter Sen. Obama has."
The New York senator denied that she was playing the race card, arguing, "Every other member of my family is supporting me, and by the way, they're white."
Elsewhere, a defiant John McCain said that his wife will not release her tax returns, "and neither will my girlfriend."
