Rasmussen Pulls the Plug on Dem. Race
...while Senator Clinton has remained close and competitive in every meaningful measure, she is a close second and the race is over. It has become clear that Barack Obama will be the Democratic nominee.
At the moment, Senator Clinton's team is busily trying to convince Superdelegates and pundits that she is more electable than Barack Obama. For reasons discussed in a separate article, it doesn't matter. Even if every single Superdelegate was convinced that the former First Lady is somewhat more electable than Obama, that is not enough of a reason to deny him the nomination.
With this in mind, Rasmussen Reports will end our daily tracking poll of the Democratic race and focus exclusively on the general election competition between Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama.
What can you say? When polling firms join the chorus and decide there's nothing more to say about this race, you'd think that reality would have to start sinking in with one HRC. All that's really left for her now is to further divide and damage the party. It's her choice, I guess.

Here is my response to the latest DNC fund-raising letter. When you get yours, respond, don't contribute.
Leave it to the people of the Democratic party to select a radical, racist, hate-filled, pandering,, corrupt, unpatriotic, terrorist-loving, smooth-talking snake oil salesman to the highest office in the land.
This country is in big trouble and we don't need a rookie President in training wheels. Where is the DLC when you need them?
Thankfully he will go down big-time in the general election where the black and the ultra liberal vote is a very small percentage and the DNC can hang their heads in shame once again.
I fear for this country and if Hillary is not the nominee. as a moderate Democrat, my support will go to McCain as the lesser of two evils.
My vote against Obama is not because of the color of his skin but the color of his heart.

We all feel unlimited pressure to make us to believe that the race is over.
How is it possible that 3 remaining weeks can make the difference?
Okay. If Obama wins - I would be ready to stand McCain for 4 years.
But can we just wait:
1. until all the state vote;
2. when the bylaws committee makes its decision;
3. give ourselves 3 more weeks case some new story from Obama's background emerges???

I hope that they anger Mrs. Clinton- I hope she doesn't become a goody tooties for him. I hope that she gets so angry at the media and at Mr. Obama, that the West Virginia people and the Kentucky people put her over 80% margins and leave this man in the dust. I hope that they anger her so much that she gets up on the mike and tells the american people: Dear Americans, today I was told that the voters for Kentucky, West Virginia, Oregon, Montana, South Dakota, and Puerto Rico did not matter and that Mr. Obama is our new nominee. Because of this injustice that has been presented toward my being, I , now, can say with justication, I will run on an Independent ticket, and I hope that all of you that have seen this bias and injustice, can support me in the months to come. May God bless American and Remember too, our Lord Jesus Christ! My prayer goes to you Hillary, and get out of this vile liberal party- it is not you- dear lady of God. Get into another party that shows the center of your views as most of us are in.

i think the paid obama bloggers are working overtime refreshing their cookies cache to vote over and over in montana,
for 3 weeks , on aol straw poll obama could not win majority in one state , now all of a sudden he can win montana, i guess that's to prepare us for a rigged landslide victory in montana,
just like the rigged north carolina primary, i mean come on, 74% percent of nc is white, 22% is black, he won 92% of blacks, heck, even if you give him 100% how does he get up to 65% percent of the vote, come on no way that can happen, unless all 400,000 mail in votes were blacks,
yea , right,,,,,,,,,,,if obama gets nod, landslide for mccain, and one vote comes from me, david i can't wait to laugh in your face about it

Finally somebody has an honest assessment of the situation. Obama will be the nominee and will bring back the Democratic party.
Davidg1:31PMMay 9th 2008
The party has been divided and damaged since the Obama campaign called Bill Clinton a racist.
It was unforgiveable.
McCain in 2008. A decent Democrat in 2012.

STOP WHINNING! OBAMA IS HERE TO STAY.
attl1:41PMMay 9th 2008
Thomas Dewey also made the front page with the news organizations and others in declaring a victory, but it wasn't true. The DNC designed this disaster and they should see it through. What happens on the convention floor should determine the course of this contentious process, not the political hacks in the back room. Let votes determine the winner not the party and political hacks with their own agenda.
If this is not done properly, the Democratic Party may be the biggest victim. A third party is not beyond the vision of some people if they cannot find a clean representation of their equally forceful aspirations.

Good reason ~~ to not to vote No Hillary.
I'm not sure that the voters can stand a full year of squealing Hillary. Many are repulsed by Hillary and her gutter tactics. Supporting her policies just so because their author comes with a set of ovaries attached doesn't move me. America has come far enough in the battle against sexism and we see woman everywhere in high offices but that's not a reason that I should vote for her or for her to think she is special. That Hillary Clinton has two X chromosomes is not seen as unremarkable. The REAL issue is her falseness, her bullish nature, how she covers her lies and most of all her background that has been very questionable and very shady. That is why she is unelectable. Why she is down for the count. It is all over for Hillary. She pretentiously has now set her sights on luring and fool donors so as to be able to regroup her huge money losses. She can not cover her fat ass anymore so she is concentrating on covering her fat debts.
The miss-leading title grabbed your attention, so much for misleading politics. When in rome do as the Romans do. Thanks for the read Huns.

Hillary will win the next few states by huge margins...She is a winner and she will be back in 2012!!
P.S I've got 8 voting for Mccain now!!

racism is irrational....just looking at all the blogs of those who are against Obama convinces and frightens me that scary racists are allowed to vote.....those who believe he is a muslim are idiots...those who say he hasn't done anything are fools...those who think he can't win have another thing coming to them....Polls do say he is honest..he is trustworthy...he is transparent....Limbaugh's ditto heads should be ashamed of themselves and they should learn how to think for themselves - wow, what a concept!!!!
RipD1:46PMMay 9th 2008
For a democrat to vote for McCain, out of resentment because their candidate failed to win then nomination, is an infantile reaction. Furthermore, if you are intent on doing so, why do you feel the need to broadcast it to other people? Is your ego really so fragile?
A true adult can recognize when his/her ego pride is acting up, can pull his/her panties out of a bunch, and can make a mature decision. Clinton supporters, whose pride is currently bruised and tender, have a huge moment of self-reckoning ahead. Are we dominated by our own need for pride and recognition, or are we mature enough to rise above those childish behaviors?

Get out the crying towels Hillary, your groupies will need them now that their Golden Goose is dead in the water. Maybe you could have a swiftboat monagram included in the order if extra money is available.
Tawneej391:47PMMay 9th 2008
The media has given the presidency to McCain. Obama willnot be a pimple on McCain's butt when the debates start. He will not have his famous litany to repeat over and over-the republicans will come down with a vengence on him and he is incapable of competing against their machine. Obama is a racist coward-and we have no need of him in the highest office of the land. His arrogance is unbelievable in declaring himself the winner when not all has been said and done. This whole season has been rank with bias from the media against Hilary. I have stopped watching the "major news networks" for awhile now, and I won't go back. I hope everyone who realizes what a joke the election coverage has been and boycott these networks: NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, & MSNBC. Russert-you've sold out your trade-Meet The Press is a sham.
KIM1:49PMMay 9th 2008
So now the polling companies control the election?
The voters will decide, not the media, not a polling company. And we voters will NOT VOTE FOR OBAMA. It is the media who pushed his nomination through; from the beginning, you fawned over Obama, neglecting to ask him the tough questions, while constantly criticizing Hillary. The result: we now have a truly unqualified Democrat on the verge of getting the nomination. His lack of policy knowledge was embarassing during the debates. We Dems would rather see McCain win, serve a dismal 4 years, and then FINALLY NOMINATE HILLARY WHO WILL WIN IN 2012 AND SERVE FOR EIGHT WONDERFUL YEARS. Hillary, don't run for VP; Obama will lose. By the way, I am not bitter, I don't own a gun, and I have a
BA and a Masters from Columbia and NYU. GO HILLARY 2012, I am about to vote Republican for the first time in my life.

HillaryMccain08,
I that the tin man squeaking. You haven't got enough grease to make a dent in the election, neither has Hillary. Take a trip to the Wizard of Oz, get a heart. You are acting like a fool when saying Obama doesn't have a heart. YOU DO NOT KNOW THAT. You sound like a 2 year old trying to convince adults that they are the best judge of things. You are just being pissy cause Hillary is out of the game. Go beat up your Leggos.

This should be about American voters.
But it's been mainly about supers, polls, the media, and money.
