Hillary Implosion Watch
Tommy has a great rundown, but let me add one interesting fact-o-tum to the mix. UPI is reporting that the Clinton campaign is out of money and canceling events:
The cash-strapped campaign of Sen. Hillary Clinton has forced curtailments of political events and advertising as the primary season winds down, aides say.
...
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Times reported options are being considered to allow Clinton a graceful exit from race with Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, who leads in pledged delegates and popular vote.
One supporter familiar with the campaign said Clinton wanted to leave on an up note, possibly after winning a couple of the remaining primaries. The supporter also said Clinton would want a resolution concerning the seating of Florida and Michigan delegates, who lost their seats the Democratic national convention as punishment for the states' changing their primaries.
The last paragraph (emphasis mine) is an important one and the reason why she hasn't thrown in the towel yet. She will win in WV and KY, she may even blow Obama out, and this is where I disagree with Tommy, even with the late news, I don't think it's likely that she will lose outright. She will have more delegates and more bargaining power in a few days, so it would be quite easy to persuade her that she owes it to her supporters to stick it out for at least a little while longer.
And if that's so bad, why did Reagan go to the convention in 1976 and Kennedy in 1980. That was Kennedy's last hurrah, but Reagan weirdly enough might be an inspiration to Hillary (yeah I know!) . By going to the convention and fighting for his platform, he was able to set himself up for 1980, thanks to Gerald Ford's loss.
It's not outside the realm of possibility that Hillary doesn't care about the damage to the party, because she is setting herself up for 2012 in the face of an Obama loss. In this case, she would need Obama to actually lose, so again, her interests are aligned with McCain, not the Democratic party. If that's the scenario, she fights to the end, regardless of the delegate count. For the Democratic party, that's one ugly thing to think about. This is where my healthy dose of cynicism comes in handy.

She's waiting for Barack's implosion, which will come sooner or later. She would be foolish to quit.
Barack Obama would not be the nominee if his media minions had not repressed the negatives about him until it was too late.
Dave, tell your colleages, Knowless, Tommy "I'm fair" Christopher, and Denise "Limoride" Williams congratulations on all their hard work.

I'm an Obama supporter... and a white middle class supporter that is NOT the youth vote. Don't think that it's just African Americans voting for Obama, otherwise he would of never gotten this far.
Hillary can stay in as long as she wants. The numbers are against her. She will lose Oregon, Montana, and South Dakota. She will still be behind in delegates and the popular vote even if you include Michigan and Florida. We are not pushing her out of the race, she is welcome to stay as long as she wants.

We are not pushing her out of the race, she is welcome to stay as long as she wants.
Who are you to give Hillary your permission to stay in the race. Just another Obama egotist! She is a fighter and a winner! You must watch too much television...Hillary should not quit the race even if she goes until the convention.

I really think the hard core Clinton supporters are not really thinking about what is best.
Hillary has pretty much lost this. She is out of money, losing superdelgate support, and damaging her image more with each day she continues.
She is still a very strong viable force in politics, and President of the United States is not her only option. She still has plenty of life as an amazing legislator, quite possibly next in line for Senate Majority leader. This is nothing to sneeze at, but the longer she fixates on the oval office, the more likely she could damage her credibility in Congress.
I would hope her intelligence (I believe she is very smart) supercedes her desire, and those who truly support her would let her know that there is no shame in being the best damn legislator on the planet. She can also stay there for life, whereas the White House is only a maximum of eight years.
Just a few things to think about.

Sillary caqn go to the convention and beyond and it won't make a bit of difference. The contest is over. Those that can't or refuse to see that are probably the same people that buy mountains in Mississippi.
tom11:07PMMay 10th 2008
Is this the kind of experience you all are talking about?
CRIME STATS
- Number of individuals and businesses associated with the Clinton machine who have been convicted of or pleaded guilty to crimes: 47
- Number of these convictions during Clinton's presidency: 33
- Number of indictments/misdemeanor charges: 61
- Number of congressional witnesses who have pleaded the Fifth Amendment, fled the country to avoid testifying, or (in the case of foreign witnesses) refused to be interviewed: 122

Dear Clintonites: Please stop bitching here. . .If you want her to continue, PLEASE SEND HER YOUR MONEY..put your money where your mouths are!
sheila11:21PMMay 10th 2008
Did Bill and Hill leave something in the oval office that they need to retrieve?
HillaryMccain0811:23PMMay 10th 2008
She should just sit back and let WV and Kentucky take their course. Let Barack go out and do something stupid which I no doubt he will.
He is nothing more than a slimey, arrogant little twerp and hopefully intelligent minds will prevail at convention time.
msull8484611:25PMMay 10th 2008
the longer she stays in the more ridiculous she looks......she is arrogant and deserves to lose

People it's really time for REAL TALK. The party's over and the fat lady sung her death march quie a few weeks ago but the pundits tried not to hear it.
Everyone puts their spin on this but we all know who the DNC nominee really is SENATOR BARACK OBAMA.
Dear Lanny Davis you are losing credibility with people with average intelligence and your spin is so one sided and unbelieveable you need to give up the pundit career. Your days are numbered and the sound bites will prove just how unreasonable your spin actually was.
Here is some REAL TALK for REAL PEOPLE:
I have been a democratic voter for many elections and I have never seen a woman or black man create so much excitement.
I believe that the Obama appeal is his background and his platform to work with ordinary Americans. He understands what prejudice is and he didn't grow up having everything, but his single (white) mother gave him the tools and support he needed to work towards earning a good education and self improvement. I believe he wants to "Unite" people and energize them as equals to do the best they can to live the American dream and that is truly a new dynamic.
I believe he will work for all the people and that is a very important part of being Commander and Chief of the greatest nation on earth.
I am proud to say I went into the California primary booth to actually vote for Senator Clinton because I knew who she was and out of nowhere I voted for Obama, a light went on in my head in the voter’s booth and I couldn't forget his theme "CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN". I thought for a few more seconds about some of his campaign slogans and things he brings to the table, so I voted for Obama.
I think all Americans need something to believe in and someone who understands the human condition before political fallout.
I fully support Senator Barack Hussein Obama and I totally want Senator Clinton to exit with her dignity!! All this I'm fighting till the end speel, well the clock is running out and the leader is Senator Obama.

Don't forget that it's the intelligent folks that are voting for Obama and the poor whites that are voting for Hillary.

...Yeah, if you're tired of the old policies and the old ideas, well, why not give change a try???
-----------------
What "change"? Obama left his own Chicago district poorer and with more crime than when he arrived, and was and still is a corrupt politician. Obama couldn't even "change" his own Chicago district (except to make it worse), how can he "change" the USA?
Wall Street is not going anywhere. The Senate is not going anywhere, the Supreme Court is not going anywhere, and the Constitution is not going anywhere. The "special interests" aren't going anywhere.
So, what in the HELL is he, a 46 year old no experience havin', non-existent--to poor record holdin'...empty rhetoric talkin' man gonna do to "change" anything?
Unless, of course, you've researched him and know what most do not. Then you DO know what the "change" is--in which case, I do not respect you as an American.
But, I know you don't even know what I'm gettin' at. Most of you Obama followers have believed everything the mainstream media has dumped on you...never alert to the propaganda...just mush brains. Chanting, fainting, nodding with big empty eyes.
--Ok, sorry. (lol)
Anyway, I think it's nice you guys are like "I'm a middle aged blah blah white blah blah voting for Obama."
Personally, I'm in my 20's and highly educated, so isn't that special, we just go against the polls.
But here's one poll that you better believe is true: Many MANY Hillary supporters WILL vote for McCain if Obama gets the dem nom, and it's because we have seen how he's played dirty--sooo negative, and he's cheated, and pulled the race card, and lied pathologically, and had the radical big top democrats boosting him, and the mainstream media protecting and promoting him, and we know all his disgusting games and all the people he is associated with and how he was raised and what he believes, and we want NO part of it.
Obama would be an embarrassment as a president. He's already talking like there are 59 states, after he stuck up his middle finger and brushed his shoulders off, and talked about getting a basketball court put in at the White House. He's a JOKE. And he will LOSE if he goes to the general, and you people won't LISTEN. SO, I say GOOD, ya'll get what you deserve, who cares.
Hillary or McCain--NEVER Obama.

sheila:
It isn't just the poor whites voting for Hillary. Hillary gets blue collar and middle-class whites, and now she gets more white women and white men, and she also gets more hispanics, and more seniors.
***You know what's really funny: You say Hillary gets poor whites like it's a bad thing. Poor folks know most of all that times are hard and not to mess around with voting for a guy like Obama who doesn't know what he is doing. Also, onw doesn't need a college degree to VOTE!! So WHO CARES.
ALSO:
WHAT IN THE HELL DO YOU THINK THIS COUNTRY IS MOSTLY??
Some of you need to go on a cross country trip to see America, and GET A CLUE.
ruthe11:35PMMay 10th 2008
she's one mean bitch
sheila11:39PMMay 10th 2008
to Katherine:
Sounds like a whole lot of people to me. Then why did she lose so bad and why are so many super delegates defecting to Obama? You just covered more than 75% of the population, but that's not what the results are showing.
ruthe11:40PMMay 10th 2008
she's a witch..waiting for some other disclosure about obama..sick lady admitted liar why would anyone want her as president much less dog catcher
