'Service' - New Obama Ad

By Greg McNeilly

Filed Under:eBarack Obama, Ads, 2008 President

The new ad airing in West Virginia by Barack Obama is a :30 second spot titled "Service." It makes sure to let the Mountain state voters know about his "Christian faith."

It's a typical bio-spot.

It's supposed to make the voter feel warm and fuzzy about the candidate. And it is always a plus for political operatives when they can portray candidates as being like the voters. Like, for instance, sharing a common "faith."

But for the candidate who told big money donors at a San Francisco fundraiser that rural Pennsylvania voters bitter over job woes often turn to God and guns; it is simply pandering in bad taste to invoke his "Christian faith" in a shallow attempt to connect.

West Virginia voters will cast their ballots tomorrow, Tuesday, allocating 28 Democrat delegates.
