Hillary Doesn't Sound Like She's Quitting
I just listened to Hillary's victory speech. As of right now she's leading 64-29%. Ouch! With numbers like that, this is the last time that West Virginia sees Barack Obama for, like, ever.
Hillary's speech was fairly unspectacular as usual, but in the first few paragraphs, I think she managed to squeeze in just about every West Virginia cliche about mountain people, going to the mountain, etc. Cringe worthy.
And then she started in with a rousing defense of why she's still in the race (remember, when you're explaining, you're losing) But she does have some valid points. She is the "strongest candidate" based on her ability to win swing states like Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. That it has been since 1916 or so since a Democrat won without West Virginia. That's true, too, but it probably has more to do with West Virginia being a marginally leaning state, and Al Gore came within 300 votes of busting that record.
Anyway, it didn't sound to me like she was quitting, or even thinking about quitting. In her quest to stay in the race, she also received some unexpected support from Obama who stated that the race wasn't over yet. Hillary should send him a thank you card.

Hillary, I am so glad that you are still in the race and not quitting despite of the pundits asking you to quit. You are the best, the most qualified, most competent and most experienced of the candidates. I hate the Democratic Party, media and Obama supporters who have been so rude, malicious, vicious and disrespectful towards you. I can not understand this lovefest for Obama, an inexperienced, arrogant and highly ambitious man with a bitter and angry wife who hates America.
Go Hillary all the way to the convention!
If the Dems deny you the nomination, this loyal Democrat who have never voted Republican, will vote for John Mc Cain. Obama NO!

West Virginia had only 28 delegates at stake.
The race unfolded as predicted and despite the size of her victory, (ratio 2-1 +) it did not threaten Obama's lead in the race for the nomination. He conceded defeat in advance in the state. He had said several days ago he expected Clinton to win by significant margins in West Virginia and then in Kentucky, which holds its primary next week. And on Monday, he tried to set the bar of expectations exceedingly low for himself, suggesting that anything above 20 percent would constitute a good showing in West Virginia. Nearly a quarter of Clinton's support were 60 or older, and a similar number had no education beyond high school; 95 percent white and was composed of the kinds of voters who favored her in past primaries.
Barack Obama's wave of superdelegate endorsements puts him within reach of the Democratic presidential nomination by the end of the primary season on June 3 — even if he loses half of the remaining six contests. He is predicated to win Oregon. And of course he will pick up more delegates along the way in the rest of the contests by the Democratic 50/50 split system.
Watching closely, I noted Clinton's speech had toned down. Also, noted she had changed her hair, added some brighter blonde. If you know woman, that is a sign. Some may or may not have noticed that within her the flair of her speech that suggested she was going all the way, their were sublte words and teel-tales that indicated already she knew the defining moment was upon her; come November, she would save the Party, be "campaigning her heart" for other than Hillary Clinton. Her speech was much more polished than usual and between the gracefull lines you could read she has accepted her defeat. Clinton has chosen to go out in style; support the Party, challenge McCain.
Nearly a quarter were 60 or older, and a similar number had no education beyond high school. More than half were in families with incomes of $50,000 or less

Those who do not know the shuffle, do not know the dance. Nothing has changed for Clinton. Clinton can not get the MATH. Clinton is not trying to win, she is trying to get some cash back and save the Party. She knows her Math problem well. What appears to be is not always what is! Be more shouting when the truth finally hits home with those still in the dark. Clinton's win means nothing.
